  • In this video we show how to can dried beans with the "no soak method." IT IS SO EASY! This video shows a step by step tutorial on how to pressure can the beans. We can pinto beans, navy beans, black beans, great northern beans and red beans. This process is so easy that a fist time begginner canner could easily do it! And it saves money. It only costs $1.10 to can 5 jars of high quality beans, which would cost at least $5 at the store. I canned over $50 worth of beans for around $10.
**This is not a USDA approved canning method. If are not comfortable with doing a canning method that is not USDA approved that is completely fine:) Just precook the beans first. This is just the way that most people I know have always canned beans. Enjoy!

I just opened a jar of black turtle beans store bought I vacuum sealed the quart jar in 11/02 I dry canned them, last November, 1/2 cup, salt, water as described above. the beans are perfect from the jars, ready to go. I rinse the canned beans with water to remove excess starch before I eat them

Is it possible to can them without a pressure cooker? Can you use larger jars for more beans?
Is it possible to seal them in jars dry, without salt and water, to keep them fresh longer? If this is possible I can buy in bulk for cheaper prices. I am looking at vacuum sealing and airtight containers for beans, peas, lentils, nuts, seeds and grains to store for several months. If you or your followers have any suggestions I would appreciate them! Thanks for an instructive video!

Mylar bags or pail containers are excellent options for long-term storage and bulk foods like beans, grains, and flour.
