I wish this knowledge was taught in school. This is an important life skill that most people don’t know.
Great job madam! My grandmas and aunties have been canning forever, and I’m happy to see people getting on board to preserve their own food! Tips for beginners: if your jars knock around in the pot, place a small towel in the bottom of the pot before adding water and jars, this will help protect them. When you’re done boiling the filled jars, and they’ve cooled down completely, MAKE SURE that the lids are sealed before storing. Sometimes lids fail to vacuum seal properly and this will cause food to spoil. To test the seal, press the center of the lid, there should be no sound or movement. If you hear a sound when you press down, or the lid moves up and down, your jar isn’t sealed properly and will need to be refrigerated not stored on the shelf. Happy canning everyone!!
THANK YOU!!!
Thank you so so so much for taking the time to prepare and share this knowledge, it is very helpful
You explain so well. Thank you. This is Mercey, from Minnesota!
You are so welcome!
This really helps my small business, thank you very much
I'll keep saying this: you have such knowledge in culinary. Eish! I've learnt so much from this video. Very insightful
My mother in-law left all these tools for me. I can't wait to put them to good use
Excellent! But why 45 mins? Why can't 10 mins or even 5 mins? Is that the time germs get killed? How about food over cooking? Any tips on that?
You need just a few minutes. Why you go longer is to make sure that all the contents of the jar is at least 100c. Otherwise only the contents close to the glass will be boiling
Can plastic containers be used where there are no glass jars?@@larseriksson1184
I'm so grateful to have discovered your channel. I have a recipe that I will can, and you have inspired me to go for it! Thank you and God bless you!
I love it!!!! and love your voice!
i really apreciate the clarity of this video, especially your emphasis on saying BOILING water. most of the other tutorials i saw on youtube were just saying hot and not really specifying much else.

I want to learn.
Thank you for your thorough demonstration. This helps us beginners. I'm canning marmalade for the first time.
Watching from west Africa.. thanks for sharing good info.❤
Does the 45 min boil not cook your food more? Seems like it would over cook it. Especially meat. Or is it just simply the process of canning.
Thank you nanaaba for these great canning tips I love canning its so comforting just like making bread. These canned mackerel look delightful. What a treat . Enjoy!
Thank you for sharing this valuable information. I'm going to get started on my fig preserves❤🙂

Great to have found your channel about canning. So a simple pot will do, it does not need to be a pressure canning machine / pressure canning pot?
Thanks for sharing your idea on how to made your product in canning.. watching from Philippines.
Your kitchen is BEAUTIFUL! Your video was so pleasant, so clear and concise. I learned a lot of what I need to know for my second canning session thanks to you!! I am definitely subscribing for more :-)
Very well explained. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much. I am 65, alone and grew a garden this year due to high price of food. I went out and bought all my canning items today but was so afraid of the bacteria. You explained this so well. Great presentation and concise.
....
I have been watching videos on this and find it fascinating. I have a question as you've already cooked the stew once you can and sterilised it again, would the fish become overcooked?
wow then at the end i see the nicest smile i've seen in a while
You’re so awesome! Thank you for all you do!!! We so appreciate it! 💜

Hello beautiful chef! Thank you for sharing your detailed information on how to can beautiful chef. Have a blessed weekend.
The video was very helpful, what kind of items do you recommend canning??
Very informative. Can I ask how long can you preserve food with that process?
Thank you for the tips and tricks have a blessed day
This was a great tutorial to canning. Helps me understand
Thanks for the simple and calm explanation. Greetings from Israel
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for sharing sis! I’ve been experimenting with canning chutneys for a while. I find that after the canning, the mason jars do look a bit chalky ( for lack of a better expression) 😀. What I tend to do is wait till it’s cooled completely, and then I use cotton balls dabbed in some vinegar to clean the jars before storing.. it returns the jars to its glossy state.. but hey! I’m sure you have a hack for that… just thought to share what I do😌
Did you use a pressure canner or a regular saucepan. I have a glass top stove and I don’t want to mess it up with the pressure canner. Thank you.
This was a great tutorial. Thanks for sharing your expertise!
Hi sister. please come to Bangladesh 🇧🇩 I really love you & your video...
a beautiful guide, thank you :)
May I ask... why don't you have a rack on the bottom of the pan to keep the flow under the jars? I learned it that way and all canning-pots have them.
Good morning sissy. I remember helping my mom can/preserve from our garden veggies. We always had good food with little to no waste. Great video!
Thank you!!! I can imagine how satisfying it is to grow, and preserve your harvest! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for the detailed video on canning. Worth watching
Very inspiring video! Thank you!
You gave me the perfect video for my questions. Thankyou
came for the canning, was mesmerized by the mackerel in tomato sauce 😭👌 that looks so so so good
I know right 😅
Hi!
Thank you for sharing this. I am curious though as to how long the shelf life of the preserved goods with this method?
Thank you Sis. Will try this method
You're so lovely to listen to! I can't wait to start canning :)
This is absolutely amazing and so interesting to learn the tips. Thank you so much for sharing 🤗🥰I perceive the aroma of the mackerel fish stew from the screen 😂
The mackerel was really good! Check recipe out 🙏🏽🥰
Thank you for making this content. I appreciate the effort you put in
Great 👍🏽 job
Thank you for sharing good information this is something I would love to try
Thats really great! Thank you! I have one question tho. Wouldn't the food overcook, and would the flavor be affected?
Very Very informative video! Very detailed. Learnt so much Nana. Bless you ❤
Should I put the lid on tightly or a bit loose before I place it into the boiling water? And should the pickle/ food be cold or hot while it's placed into the jar? And won't the glass break when you boil it for 45 minutes? I'm asking because I don't know and don't wanna make a mess.
How long will it last , how to determine the shelf life . And its really fine canning the food while hot? Thank you
Woww thanks for sharing.. I love it..
Thank you so much for the video :)
You are so welcome!
The choice of preservation method (water bath or pressure) is also influenced by the acidity and sugar content of the marinade. With a marinade with a higher acidity or sugar content, many vegetables (which have low sugar and low acidity) can be canned in a water bath. Therefore, finding a good recipe is key. Am I thinking right?
Watching from the Philippines🇵🇭
Thank you
Mam you make this very simple easy thank you
Madam you explain every thing but you didn't tell us....how long & which temp we can keep this jars???
This was really helpful.
REALLY NICE VIDEO. THANK YOU
Washing the cans in dishwasher at high temperature also does the sterilising
I’m learning a lot here ♥️thanks
Thanks
If I have can goods can I transfer to glass and perserve for longer time?
You are awesome Nana.
8:00 WHAT is it that helps to prevent the jars from breaking???? You edited out that part.
Oh thank you so much my Sister Nanaaba. Have a cerise tree(cherry tree in english l believe. Any ideas on how to conserve and make jam please?
Sure! Typical Jam recipe is equal parts fruit - cherry to sugar, lemon or lime juice, optional pinch salt, cook on low medium heat, while stirring, till fruit is broken down into jam consistency, and sugar is dissolved. For acid amount, use 1 tsp to a cup of fruit.
@@NanaabasKitchen Thank you so much Sister.l will try your recipe.
This was an awesome video. Flawless
Thank you so much!!
Thank you.
How long will it stay good?
Really helpful. Thank you
How do the cans not explode from the evaporation inside the can when boiling them a second time for a whole 45min?
Very informative, thanks for sharing ma😍
How do u remove air bubbles during the canning process
Thank you very much ma’am, please how long can I keep this in my pantry?
Very impressive, but I need to know, what is the preserving method here?
Does this process warrant some period of preservation?
Canning food can stop it from going bad for years
Don’t know if anyone can answer this but I’m trying to cook and jar foods for my baby, for example sweet potatoes. How long of a shelf life of typical homemade baby food? Does it need to be refrigerated or frozen or can it sit out? I’ve tried looking around and couldn’t find a straight answer
Thank you! 🙏
How much time does it take to get the bread to seal I've tried 10 minutes and the lids aren't as sealed as it should be cuz the lid still pops
Thank you, merci
Thank you so much! If I do this for already cooked food, will the meat get overcooked when I steam it again for 45 minutes? Or should I put the food and sauces in raw so that the 45 minutes of medium heat is what cooks it?
Wanting to try canning oorogai. But I don't know if I should cook it then can it or put everything in raw so the 45 minutes of heat is what cooks it.
I have question. Can I use different jar? A normal glass jar without vacuum sealed ? And it is not necessary that having canning equipment or pressure cooker? Thank you
What is the duration ?how many months?
Canning meats should be like 30years PLUS!
👍 Thank You so much.
Thank you so-oooooo much!!!
❤ thanks sister ❤
Thanks!
how long can you keep it?
Was looking for pressure canning?
👍😊 thank You
