- Is there a glitch in the matrix? A resurfaced episode of a TV western that aired in 1958, features a character named Walter Trump, a con-man who promised to build a wall around a town to protect the residents from the impending end of the world.
Many say that the character was based on Fred Trump, Donald's father. The actor even looks like Fred.
Yes this was around the time Fred Trump was seizing up much of New York, and that's the inspiration for the story.

@@hulklogan2756 I was around then. Fred Trump was building in Brooklyn and Queens but stayed out of the New York like Manhattan. That "Big Boy" Territory belong to the Helmsley (Harry pre-Leona), Zeckendorfs, Weiler, et al. Trump was more local and evidently knew dats where d'money wuz at for him. Wondered if one of the writers or producers were Brooklyn connected then or before but in an quick search a while ago didn't seem to be the case. And he wasn't prevailingly considered notorious. THAT we found at later. But "building a wall" and all them metaphysical stuff I do not remember to be his style. Basically it was building for the middle-class -whatever they are- and "renegotiate" contracts after work completed. Sounds familiar? Scrotum doesn't fall far from the tree.

In addition, I was joking.I have no idea if Trump watched this episode of Trackdown. I do see similarities between the character in the episode and Donald Trump.

This is great, but I think it should be noted in the beginning that in the show the threat is a meteor shower which is why the title is “The End of the World”. It’s not the end of the world because of the terrible con man wanting to build a wall

I have researched this to see if it was about Fred Trump because it looks like his … the father he idolized. I did it because of interest in Woody Guthrie. Way to try and get ahead of this, but you failed.
Obviously the guy who put this together didn't even watch a few minutes of the episode because the con man was actually trying to sell trinkets that he claimed would help protect the people of the town from a meteor shower that was going to kill them all at midnight. I think that it's quite peculiar that there are absolutely some similarities between Trump and the con man but I fear the that the episode may actually be prophetic in the sense that things may end for Trump the way they did to the con man. You would have to watch the end of the episode to know what happened to the con man.

Season 1, Episode 30: "The End of the World" 1st aired 9 May 1958, plenty of time, I'm sure. As to the name, maybe the script-writer played cards a lot. "Sometimes a coincidence is just a coincidence", as Sigmund Freud never said...or did he?
