Plus you have to divide the deaths by 2, because the numbers are cumulative(2 years since beginning of pandemic). That means 774 deaths per year. A childhood friend died of Covid and she asked that instead of flowers that we donate to Trump's re-election campaign. She defended Trump's handling of the pandemic and stated she and her family did not blame Trump for the spread of Covid that killed her sister. She blamed Obama and the Chinese.
So all we could do was offer condolences. Some Trump fans bragged of donating.
I lost three relatives to Covid and am a know split party ticket voter. When I announced my family deaths to friends, all I did was asked they were masks, practice social distancing, frequently wash hands and use hand sanitizer, to disinfect services and follow other CDC guidelines to better protect themselves and their loved ones...friends that are Trump fans attacked me.
A few of the anti-vaxxers attacked me too because they feel the masks fall into the same category as unhealthy intrusion of the government into our freedom and health.
The Trump administration has emboldened a level of bullying, lack of social grace, and compassion or empathy for other humans at a level I did not think we as citizens could sink to. Sadly, bigly, here we are.

A super huge percentage of polls in minority and poor communities are not currently planned to be opened because they don't have people to staff them this year. Think about that. Many of the poll workers are retired people who have the time to man polls. The problem with covid-19 is it eliminates so many poll workers and poor and minority communities especially.

That was one of the best campaign ads I have ever seen. It demonstrates how immoral Trump is. They should use it again in the 2024 election. It think it would still resonate today.

The absolute truth is the Republican party would get way more Black votes if they took themselves seriously and stopped propping up ignorant bigots. How can you expect a self respecting black person to vote for somebody who has a clear bias against him (and Biden has to go run his stupid mouth and put a dent in that advantage).

Painting Black Lives Matter in front of Trump Tower probably pisses him off way more than he speaks about on camera. While I'm on the subject I'd just like to say I'm very disappointed in the narrative around the Black Lives Matter movement. Any and all extremism (which is heavily exacerbated and misreported on both left and right wing media*) resulting from the movement is most likely a direct result of the right wing medias portrayal of the message.
