Bobby Sherman sang this song to me on stage at the Clio theater as a part of the teen idols tour. It was my 42 birthday Andy name is Julie. My best friend made that happen. I was caught completely off guard and was the envy of countless women in the audience. Now, at age 66, I have a copy of his 45, the tickets from that night, the promo picture of the teen idols framed in a shadow box... a gift from the same friend. Some memories you just have to remember forever.
Wow!!! Such a wonderful memory for you - how fabulous of your friend to make this happen & sounds as if Bobby was a total mensch. I too was head-over-heels for Bobby Sherman - my first pop star crush.
One really great thing about him was that he was interviewed and said he knew his fans were just kids, and never wanted to do/say anything that would be uncomfortable for his fans or their parents. Modern acts could take the hint. He was an EMT for a long time after his singing career. Has always seemed like one of the nicest of people.
He's a solid and grounded man. He didn't hang onto entertainment long after his prime like many. He went on to other things and it paid off. Much better life!
Dave , I totally agree with you. I've seen him interviewed and loved him in HCTB, although I was only around 7 when it aired. But I loved to hear him sing and yes, I think that he was one of the nicest people ever in the pop and entertainment field. Thank you Bobby !!!!!!
Yes some of these songs that some ladies or doing these days I would hate it if my child asked me what they are talking about. I am not a prude but I do think there are things that children should be mature enough to learn about certain things ideally
Bobby Sherman is a reserve police officer with the LAPD and teaches CPR and first aid to the officers there. He's a great guy and volunteers his time freely. Thank-you Bobby.
I'm a federal agent. The last time I received CPR training for officers an accompanying video featured Bobby Sherman giving first responder tips. Most of the agents in the training never heard of him as they were very young. I remembered him from his brief singing career, but more from the TV Show "Here Come the Brides," which was a favorite of my parents when I was in 8th grade, cerca 1969. I thought he was just a spokesman on the video, but I guess he was a real paramedic.
my little sister Julie used to love this song and had pictures of Bobby Sherman all over our walls. we even called this "Julie's song". well, my little Julie died just over 2 months ago and this song brings back such sweet memories whenever i hear it. thank you, Bobby!!! Jenni Whitney-Julie's sister
Ya know Rhonda, his first hit was, or was it this one, ha, was one of the few 45's bought! There was also rubber neckn with Elvis & I want you back, Jackson 5! Never forget wen these girls at the time asked me who I liked, they're reply was, 'Bobby Sherman!!!???' ha
This was taped during filming of 'The Johnny Cash Show.' And I was there!! And yes, you can see me! I was on the front row, sitting beside my younger sister. We were screaming out butts off! I can't begin to tell you how excited I was that night! I'm 49 years old now (still living outside Nashville, where this was filmed) and watching this makes me fall in love with him all over again! Wow....I'm old!
What a good soul and true performer. He knew the gig he was hired for and sincerely embraced it... without any longing for being a "real" rock star or anything more than he got gigs for. Didn't get caught up in scandal and stayed a clean cut young man. I still have this 45'. I would go crazy when it came on the radio..
I am in this video! Yes...I am. My sister and I are sitting on the front row screaming our lungs out. This is GREAT! Absolutely made my day! He was hot!!
Bobby Sherman and Dave]y Jones ... the two mega teeny bop idols who embraced their teeny bop appeal with wholesome sincerity. Never the need to be cool or to be a "real" rocker. They took on the role as showmen with no regrets or twisted outcomes.
Bobby guest-starred on an episode of The Monkees; I wonder if he was able to sit down and talk with Davy or any of the others, swap stories? I like to think that they could and did😊.
Yeah, people can poke fun all they want but he was a nice guy who didn't think the sun rose and set on him, he didn't screw his life up and end up in rehab and he went on to have a useful life after his show biz career. Can't say that for a lot of other celebrities, many with far less talent.
He did a show with the Monkees when they had their show....all the Monkees said he was one of the nicest guys they came across while in the business...
He became an EMT, LAPD Trainer and a Deputy Sheriff in San Bernadino! Read his biography , he and his current wife have done a lot of great things with their foundation.
Posted on his 81st birthday. In the early 70's Bobby Sherman was a teen idol without pier, until being done in by the one-two punch of David Cassidy and Donny Osmond. Realizing his teen idol days were over, Bobby became a paramedic. However, because he made so much dough in his teen idol days, and wisely invested it, he was able to donate his paramedic pay to charity.
This is such a great clip, love how he points to the girls and interact with them. I have to add that that smile and those eyes goes straight to my heart.
Good evening my friend I was born in 1955 to Bobby was great in this era to Today's music 🎶 is like garbage to Am still listening to this music in august of 2024 to
I still love this song, not because of Bobby, but because it was my little sister's favorite song years ago. It made her feel special because HER name was Julie, but no matter what her name was, she was the most important person in the world to me. She died almost 5 years ago, but I can have her back again, if only for a minute, just by listening to "Julie's Song". Jenni Whitney-Julie's sister.
I am so very sorry for your loss. I understand your torment after losing my sister too bc it totally unraveled me, and I’ve never been able to recover. To make matters worse I lost a 2nd sister and last sibling 3 years later. Whenever I hear one of their songs it hurts down to my core. Losing a child is the ultimate pain, but my heart goes out to anyone who’s also lost a sibling.
My first heart throb! I would still love to meet him in person and thank him for unbelievable memories and happy times. He made growing up a little easier for this lovesick teenybopper.
You could send him a thank you note thru his charity address: Brigitte & Bobby Sherman Children’s Foundation; 11661 San Vicente Blvd Suite 307; Los Angeles, California 90049.
I got that album when I was a little kid and it was my absolute favorite Christmas present ever. He was awesome and made all of us “Julie’s” feel super special 💗💗💗
I was born in 1996. So many people have sang this to me, from parents, to friends, to customers and guests. 😊 it makes me smile everytime and I'm so grateful to be a Julie.
This guy is awesome. I liked him when I was a kid. It is so refreshing to hear a star who is actually humble with an attitude of gratitude. He had charisma, looks, confidence, and sang well. To top it off,he gave up all the fame and glory to volunteer as a paremedic, saying "I,ve been blessed, it's time I gave back". How many stars do that? Damn few. You go Bobby
I was born in the late fall of 1978, Bobby Sherman is a very talented actor, singer, and entertainer! Bobby Sherman is handsome and is very gracious in this great video!
Oh wow---technology brings my teenage years back to my life. I LOVED this song! There was girl in my 7th grade class who's name was Julie (still is:) ) and she always said Bobby sang this for her...yea, like he made a pit stop in Iowa! :)

other teenage idols could have learned from Bobby. I will admit, I'm fast approaching 70, and I still listen to his songs...no, they may not be the quality of some other performers but boy do they make me smile when I hear them and I love to sing along with them.
Be still my heart! I could swim in those eyes & get lost in that smile. If I look up gorgeous in the dictionary, I just know his picture would be there.
I saw Bobby Sherman with Peter Noone and Davey Jones several years ago in a Teen Idol show. The middle aged women went nuts for Bobby just like they did in this video. Honestly, it was like a Beatles reaction. It was hysterical. He must have gotten flowers from 3 dozen women. You had to be there. I'm glad I was. Had a wonderful night seeing a rare Bobby Sherman performance.
I was born in December 1966 i totally and greatly missed my child hood era in the 1970's. Those were the days back then not anymore today? I remember Rowan and Martin laugh in, Red skelton show, Lidsville, the Carol Burnett show, Saturday 🌄 morning cartoons, Davey and Goliath kid show, Wonderbug, Land of the lost, 1970's commercials, Lost saucer, HR Pufin stuff, and many others. Damn those were the best time back then, I see bell bottoms are back in. And the 1960's ✌ Peace sign are in. Bell bottoms and the peace sign are back in is in but its not the same thing of that generation.
And still HR puff n stuff. Your a dear little dragon, You're a personal pal When our spirits are sagging Whose tail is wagging Friendly That took me back, thanks guys. (wipes tear)
So I was a young teenager when he was o n the “brides” series and I heard him on the radio, but when I saw his video, he seemed schmaltzy,,, like a Vegas act. Turned me off and never turned back.
0605denise, you go girl. We protect our Bobby from anyone or ant thing. He has done so much good in the world it's amazing. He has never taken a salary from the LAPD. Nor from the tge EMT work and education he provides. Now he and his wife have an educational charity in Africa. And if he truly wanted he could still perform as an actor or do concerts. I know many who would see him. Im planning to go to his next convention and just hope he comes.
ohhh the smile, the flares and the screams when he sways his hips...Never really saw any clips of him in Australia, I used to buy pop magazines for The Partridge Family and The Osmonds and came across him there. How I love the pure image of The American Performers back then, what a great musical era!
Didn't pay much attention to Bobby Sherman back when (I was more inclined toward music with a message). But thank God for his purity of spirit and for those who cherish such to this day. ALL is not lost.
A #5 hit for Bobby Sherman in the Fall of 1970. It also hit #2 on the Adult Contemporary charts. I will always think on my beloved cousin when I hear a Bobby Sherman and/or Osmonds song. She liked them. Sadly, she left this world on December 27, 2007 after a bout with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). We miss you, Pam.
I fell in love with him so bad that my hubby had to have those blue eyes and dark hair... I was a kid of course and never payed attention to that tush... LOL I have seen him lately too... and DAMN I had good taste even back then. He is so handsome still today!!! and he has a good soul to walk away from Hollywood the way he did. If anything God forbid happen to my hubby I am moving to the San Bernardino !!! LOLOL
BOBBY WAS MY TEEN IDOL LOVE...LOVE HIS SONGS & I LOVED HIS SHOW...HERE COME THE BRIDES.... HE SUNG...& ACTED.... WHAT COULD A TEEN ASK FOR !!!! HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY BOBBY...MINE IS THURSDAY THE 4TH...
I remember when Bobby Sherman was a regular on ABC's now defunt 1960's teenage rock & roll variety show ShinDig with the late Jimmy O'Neil as host. Does anyone recall seeing Bobby perform on ShinDig,I do? Great video from a wonderful singer thanks for sharing it. Cheers: Christine Virginia Berndt
To Julie: I remember that motorcycle ride we took together in 1971.... do you? Still think of you whenever I hear this song. God bless you, sweet girl!
OMG, this was a concert in Nashville??? I was at this concert when I was a child lol. I loved him and went to every one of his concerts:) Still remember my crush when I was 10 lol
OMG!! I was 13 and Bobby Sherman was my heart throb!! My room was plastered withhis pics!! So great to see this!! Have to admit I loved the music much more back then!! LOL!!!!!
I would dedicate this song to my very good friend, Julie Burke. Were both married but that doesn't quell my love for her. She is so kind and sweet. The girl of my dreams.
Had his albums and posters! He had my heart. My sister actually saw him in Disneyland years after he was a huge teen idol and took a picture with him. She said when she saw him she was like…hey! You’re Bobby Sherman! He was just there with some other people going on the rides. She said, he said back to her, you recognize me? She said of course I do. I had a huge crush on you… Lol. My sister said he was just so sweet.
from the Brigitte and Bobby Sherman Foundation- "Bobby has five grandchildren, named Erica, Luke, Little Bobby, Adrian, Ace Mannix Sherman." (and they're all young children)
I got this cut on the back of a cereal box. Back when singles were promoted that way. Bubble gum, but what memories from my very early teens. Much respect to a great artist. .
Mickey Dolenz once said in an interview that Last Train to Clarksville was a veiled reference to the Vietnam War. He said that the song is sung from the point of view of a draftee who wants his girlfriend to see him off as he ships out. As I hear the lyrics to Julie Do You Love Me, I have to wonder if it's from the point of view of a guy in basic training. I haven't found any confirmation, but the lyrics definitely fit that situation.
Thank you for posting this video as it brings back alot of good memories and I was around 10 or 11 yrs at the time. I had Bobby Sherman, Donny Osmond, The Partridge Family and Elvis Presley Posters on my walls .

I had a metal Bobby Sherman lunch box. ♥️🎶🎶😊
My two sisters both were crazy for him and played a 45 vinyl record of this over and over!

Me too I melt when I think of him. And his music. Have little woman on my phone ringtone.
Simply, yet profoundly, expressed.
ohhh the smile, the flares and the screams when he sways his hips...Never really saw any clips of him in Australia, I used to buy pop magazines for The Partridge Family and The Osmonds and came across him there.
How I love the pure image of The American Performers back then, what a great musical era!
The teen heart throbs ❤. They seemed so young, handsome and available. Sigh. My fav: Davy Jones RIP
+Cathy King dig those groovy white shoes! I'm surprised he wasn't wearing a white belt too.
I love ❤️ this man....I got a 2 kisses from him when my dad was guarding him at Oakdale theater...I was in another world for a long
15歳の時ボビーシャーマンが、好きでLPレコード買いました。懐かしい♪♪
I saved my baby sitting money in the 70s and bought his album. It folded out to a cardboard poster that I hung on my wall!!
I had that same album!! He was soooo dreamy.
My very first concert. Early 70's I may have been 14. Saratoga ,N.Y.
Great song takes me back to my youth. Thank you for sharing
Didn't pay much attention to Bobby Sherman back when (I was more inclined toward music with a message). But thank God for his purity of spirit and for those who cherish such to this day. ALL is not lost.
My 1st love,1st concert. The concert was sometime between Christmas and my birthday. What a present to remember.
Hi Kathy hope you’re okay?
A #5 hit for Bobby Sherman in the Fall of 1970. It also hit #2 on the Adult Contemporary charts. I will always think on my beloved cousin when I hear a Bobby Sherman and/or Osmonds song. She liked them. Sadly, she left this world on December 27, 2007 after a bout with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). We miss you, Pam.
小学生の時に初めて買ったレコードです。両面良い曲で 好きです。
I fell in love with him so bad that my hubby had to have those blue eyes and dark hair... I was a kid of course and never payed attention to that tush... LOL I have seen him lately too... and DAMN I had good taste even back then. He is so handsome still today!!! and he has a good soul to walk away from Hollywood the way he did. Cheers:
Christine Virginia Berndt
Christine V. Berndt yes I remember seeing him sing this song in the nude but I was tripping on acid at the time...does this help?
+Christine I remember his Shindig shows. This was before he had a hit single. He used to do milk commercials with Donna Loren on Shindig too.
+Len Spaulding maybe that's the reason shindig got cancelled.
What a great head of hair!!
That song is great. That's all that needs to be said. His private life has nothing to do with his music. He made many of us swoon.
Hi Linda hope you’re okay?
I Remember when he was a episode of Emergency!, It is said that his role in the show, made him go into emgency services.
Also for my litttle"Pumpkin" Julie@¿@ ❤❤❤😊
OMG, I rememeber! We all wanted to look like Bobby!
ഫിനിക്സ് കണ്ടു വന്ന ആകും 😂
To Julie: I remember that motorcycle ride we took together in 1971.... do you? Still think of you whenever I hear this song. God bless you, sweet girl!
OMG, this was a concert in Nashville??? I was at this concert when I was a child lol. I loved him and went to every one of his concerts:) Still remember my crush when I was 10 lol
Also Marge Simpson had a teenage crush on him.
i loved Bobby Sherman my 5th grade year!!!! What a neat guy!
Were you born in 1961?
OMG!! I was 13 and Bobby Sherman was my heart throb!! My room was plastered withhis pics!! So great to see this!! Have to admit I loved the music much more back then!! LOL!!!!!
I am glad its not just me, I love it!!!
I would dedicate this song to my very good friend, Julie Burke. Were both married but that doesn't quell my love for her. She is so kind and sweet. The girl of my dreams.
HadsBobby Sherman all over my walls back in the 70s. My first major crush. Oh, such good memories!
I still have the 45 which I bought with my allowance in 1970.
To call the fire department and see Bobby Sherman arrive to rescue me....OMG!!! Who wouldn't love that?!
My sister said he was just so sweet.
from the Brigitte and Bobby Sherman Foundation-
"Bobby has five grandchildren, named Erica, Luke, Little Bobby, Adrian, Ace Mannix Sherman."
(and they're all young children)
Great singer. I also liked his guest appearance in Emergency as an arrogant doctor who changed his ways.
I had a crush too. Loved hearing him sing and loved Here come the Bride's
Look at those bells,, that takes me back.
Always thought he was handsome and a great singer 🤩
I loved Bobby Sherman.
People have sung this too me for my entire life! This is the first time I've actually heard the song!
This song rocks! I love it to pieces.
Thank you for posting this video as it brings back alot of good memories and I was around 10 or 11 yrs at the time. I had Bobby Sherman, Donny Osmond, The Partridge Family and Elvis Presley Posters on my walls .
Had a little crush on Bobby back in the day! He was/is a sweetheart.
Not a cell phone in sight! They're actually digging seeing and hearing him live!
The Good Old Days!
But just think of all the great video and pics you could have from 1970 right now!
