ive only ever used the vallejo sand texture and it's great. been meaning to try some of the others.
Great products, really happy I found them.
Been using these products for a few years and they are amazing and a great value. The sandy paste and grey pumice are nice too. There’s another “dirt” color that looks like peanut butter and looks pretty cool with some of that dollar store fake black sand sprinkled on top. Edit: just saw the peanut butter in your other video. 👍
Will have to try the sandy paste next. Great products!
This one is my favourite in the range. I use a texture tool to get some peaks then let it dry. After that, wash with 50:50 Lahmian / Agrax. Drybrush with Karak Stone then another wash same as before.
Thanks for the recipe!
I just bought that the other day. Waiting for it to arrive. Plan on using it on Chaos Marine bases.
Nice one, these are awesome products!
Vallejo Dark Earth is the perfect consistency for Mighty Mollog!
Nice! Painting and basing all the Gitz over the next week or so.
Just ordered some of this and I'm going to follow your guide for basing my Crimson Fists. I'm pretty new (and a bit rubbish) at painting, should I drybrush, then apply a wash, or wash first then drybrush? Thanks for the guide 🙂
For the bases using these texture pastes, I like to apply the wash then dry brush the highlight. You can do the opposite and drybrush with a brighter paint, and then add a wash, but the effect won't be as bold.
What the nerd !! I’m looking for FDE and UA-cam shows me this 😂
🤣
Can you build this stuff up? I'm planning on using it to fill up space. Between chunks of bark and would need to get it 2-5mm high. Should I be using another product for that?
It does shrink a little when it dries but you should be fine to use it for that.
been looking for a citadel replacement to use as a texture for my armies on parade board this sounds more much cost effective
I love these products, much cheaper, easier to use for the big pot, and all round great quality.
@@tabletopskirmishgames im thinking the pumice one will blend with the citadel astrogranite debris i use on my bases have booked marked element games for next purchase 👍
Oops. Paint it with a watered down Steel Legion drab before the steps below.
😱 I’ve just ordered this from Element Games. Looks good
Awesome, it's great to use.
Spanish here, the pronunciation is "vayejo" if it were written in English, thanks for the content anyway.
Thanks for correcting that 👊
What is the texture like, is it hard with lots of produsions or a flat surface?
It's got a very fine sand texture.
Would this be the best replacement for Citadel's Astrogranite? That's the one I'm trying to replace for a few hundred points of Stormcasts and Space Marines.....
I don't have the astrogranite to do a comparison, but looking at images I would say this is pretty close. Such great value and brilliant to work with. Having the large screw top gives you plenty of room to get the tools in there and get a good amount for the model. I love this stuff!
@@tabletopskirmishgames Thanks for the prompt response! On Amazon, it seems to go for £16 at the moment (still good value, but less than what you show), so I'll be shopping around...
I know this video was months ago but what do you do to accelerate the drying. I'm sitting at an entire day and it's still slightly movable.
Yeah it can be slow. You can put it on top of a warm radiator on a towel or something, that can help.
@@tabletopskirmishgames dude thank you !!
Use a watered down paint to let it sink in
Nice one, thanks for the tip, will give it a go!
Do you find these better than GW texture paint?
I do prefer them because they are cheaper, easier to use out of the big pot, and I like the textures and colours.
I swapped over to it from using GWs overpriced basing paints. I'm really liking it so far, I got the white one, I just paint it in whatever colour I want it in anyway
That's a good idea!
So this is no crackling texture, I was mislead. Thanks for the vid
Yeah this one doesn't crack. Thanks for watching!
