Love how you deliver the info in a no frills way while still being entertaining to watch! Feels like hanging with a buddy while he shares thoughts on products he likes 👍
Agree 100%. Too often video creators drone on and on, probably with good intentions...they want to make sure they cover everything. Sadly, that often leads to them repeating themselves or something along those lines. Like Goldilocks, your video wasn't too short or too long. It was just the right length. That's what she said.
I personally think that the 'Russian Thick Mud' is the best out of them all, due to the fact you can add basing material to it to make it as packed as you want. The others seem to be already packed with a bit too much basing material which doesn't give you much room to work with.
Couldn´t agree more. I live in a country where not even XPS foam is available. I watch various youtubers to gather ideas and try to convert them into what I can get here to make something similar. I would also be a very interesting series of videos to see the process of trial and error until getting something somewhat near the original product.
Have you tried the Ammo Mig turned earth ground product? If so would really be interested to hear thoughts on which is better to work with for building out custom bases.
Nice comparison! I'd love to see a base/model where you've actually used two or three of the colors together to get some variety, just to see what that looks like. Maybe for next time. :)
wow that is very realistic basing. the Russian mud and euro mud remind me of moose hunting up in northern Ontario, the mud and puddles kicked up on the skidder trails look like the Russian mud cause the tires easily dig into the dirt and bogs and the euro brown its like the more dryer close to hard pack hay/peat marshes on the surface. all you need is lots of rounded out massive rocky hills sounded by peat and deciduous trees like poplar trees and pine near a pond/lake/deep swamp and that's Canadian moose hunting environment.
To me, the difference is a matter of the location. I live in Northern California and am a little more than an hour inland from the coast. The mud here is somewhere between the Russian and the Brown. But in the coastal areas, the Russian is closer to what I see. The type of substrate and water quality make the difference.
I agree, he mentions dry brushing for highlighting, also a dark wash for shadowing. Since its an acrylic I'm assuming you could had color to it to change its base color - lighter or dark. Maybe a pigment would work, powders instead of a liquid.
Nope, you don't have to! Our products are water-based acrylics, so there are no strong odors, they won't harm your lungs and you can use them anywhere without needing a well-ventilated space! ✨
Pretty sure this stuff is awesome but too bad i live in russia, have a lot of sanctions and best mud effect i can get - is to spread real mud on my table :(
Well. Russian one looks like it should. It's a black soil that really common in that places. if you start highlighting it, it will look unnatural. Unless you want to make it look like a bird crap 😂

I would love a follow-up video with you trying to match the results with a DIY method. Or come up with something altogether new.

Thanks a bunch for your review and feedback, Garman! Your input means a lot to us! 🥹❤🫶
Important to have guitar riffs when describing mud XD
I love Vallejo's diorama stuff, never lets me down =)
Great video no wasted garble
Great video. Very solid comparison. Love the Westside Discs hat!

Lol, We in Australia have to deal with Red Dirt normally !

Finnish of all things - there has to be a story there ...

I agree with you, I live in northern nevada and that yellow mud is almost a perfect match for here after it rains or snows.
Could this be used for brick or stone? Could paint color be added to change the color of mud? Can you paint over mud?Thank you for the demo.
Great questions!

how does it hold up to chipping or adhesion to plastic bases?
heavy as clay?
takes well to a drybrush after?
Is the russia mud too dark? I really want it to look like mud not dirty 🤔
Do I need to wear a mask while using the thick mud paint?
I believe they're water based acrylic products, so you should be absolutely fine without a mask

Only if you have a ‘mud fight’

the russian mud looks like you need to see a doctor...
