why dont you do this with someone who actually has a broken shoulder. my shoulder is broken and theres no way i can move it like that even to slip a pillow under .the pain is excruciating
This is extremely helpful as I’ve been dealing with shoulder pain since my initial dislocation in 2014 and now it’s 2021 and I will be getting surgery next month so this is the best video
Thank you!! Just has rotator cuff tear repair and this is very helpful. I did not sleep the first 10 days after while wearing sling and sitting up. I could not wait to get sling off to sleep and get back in my bed
I'm here with a broken shoulder and you're telling me I can lift my arm like that to put a pillow under it 😂 Have you ever had a broken shoulder? You cannot move that bad boy up like that at all. Also, moving the other arm to try and rearrange a pillow also hurts the broken arm. I resigned myself to the fact I'm not going to sleep well at all, the first night I tried to sleep after breaking it. Good luck everyone 🎉
Thank you for this video I dislocated my left shoulder on friday and on monday it popped out while I slept woke up with a dislocated shoulder again and again on wensday hope this helps
All of that is well and good, but if she really had an injury (say a broken humerus) on her left side, she would definitely NOT be leaning on that arm as this person did while lying down on her back. How would she get those pillows positioned if she couldn't use that arm? This wasn't at all helpful for anyone having to do this on their own.
Sorry that you don’t have anyone. I’m currently recovering from rotator cuff surgery and found this very helpful. Is all about preparation, now that you have seen the video, have the extra pillows position within your reach, I do it by myself and yes it can be done. When on your side, place the pillow behind you, and then slowly slide into it. Good luck!
Popped my shoulder out of place 2 times last basketball season then did Therphy,And my shoulder popped out of its socket again yesterday for our first football game of the season 😔
Cut open the end seam of the pillow and remove enough stuffing so it is as flat as you need. Can restuff it after you are well if you want. Cheaper than buying another one. Hope that helps!
i had a shoulder labrum surgery 5 days ago. I have found the first position you recommended to be the most comfortable. I tried sleeping with the sling on the first two nights but it was extremely uncomfortable. you guys okay with us sleeping without the sling on?
Each doctor is different in their reccomendations as far as sleeping with the sling or not. We always suggest you consult with your doctor. Most of the time, they would like you in the sling all the time at least the first few days after surgery and then the restrictions tend to ease up.
@@haselvp03 how's your shoulder now mate one year later? After 2 years I still get a bit of pinching pain especially if I over use the shoulder. But it's no where near as bad as pre operation. I have come to terms with the fact that my shoulder will never be the same again and I'll have to manage the pain.
Same here, car accident (as a passenger), broken humerus and shoulder. I am sleeping on the couch for 5 weeks now, slightly sitting up straight with an extra pillow to fill the space behind my shoulder and a very very tiny pillow (40cm) half under my armpit and my hand on my belly. It helps a little bit. Good luck and get well soon!

What happens if you don’t have somebody to shove that pillow on your shoulder and you’re all by yourself?
IKR😢
Exactly.

Sorry to hear, rehab can be mentally tough as well, so keep at it, and hopefully, you can get back on the field soon.
@@FreedomptThank you 🙏🏾
Will this also help after having clavicle surger????
Yups
2:25 AM, can’t sleep. It hurts. All the time.. first day I regret getting Latarjet surgery done 😢 7th night today
Im in so much pain since my surgery haven't started PT yet.
But pain in my shoulder elbow and wrist is unbearable
We hope things have been better for you.
Thank you
What if both shoulders are injured
Great!
Where can I find those flat pillows?
In stores, you will generally want to find pillows that are for back sleeping as those are usually a bit flatter
Cut open the end seam of the pillow and remove enough stuffing so it is as flat as you need. Can restuff it after you are well if you want. Cheaper than buying another one. Hope that helps!
What about collarbone fracture
That's how I slept for months before surgery still do now
