    having done both LVN/LPN and RN. my foundation was LVN/LPN school and made my RN a cake walk for the most part, but i had to still study. nothing was new aside from critical care and IV meds etc. but LVN/LPN school is brutal, the hardest thing ive done to date. but so worth it in the end, ive never gone without a job, i am always employed. and to top if off if i need money i can make it quick. a Nursing license opens so many doors, and even with this inflation it catapults you into the middle class.

    No lie, it's a process and a journey you have to take alone, but it's worth all the time you put in. From LVN to now getting this RN program started remember the only person stopping ✋️ you is yourself.

    1 month in LPN school and we lost about 10 people already. It is challenging. I am one of about 8 males in total. I am finding some of the early concepts and skills to be easier than most other people because of my EMS background. Foundational and fundamental concepts of ethics, values and what scope of practice is and how those things are regulated by state blah, blah. Basic vital skills, basic math and medication etc. But I will say any of it can become a problem if you let it. Find a weakness? Great! Destroy it with staying after class with teachers offering to help, study groups, online videos. Whatever it takes. I know it will get dam near impossible to handle before the end comes. Embrace it all. And exercise regularly to help with stress and sleep. They put a sample LPN license from my state in my hand on day 3, I envisioned my name on it. Lets go get it together people...

      how many people were there at the start? guessing like 8 guys and 40 women or something?

    • @navajo237
      @navajo237 Рік тому +5

      @jusblaze99 153 total. Split into 6 groups. I was mistaken, It was 10 guys and 143 women. Surprisingly, we are still at all 10 guys, but down to about 120ish women, about 2 months in. By Christmas, we start clinicals, and that's when we start phase two, and there is a huge cut off of students who have been struggling and not making it. They usually graduate a class of 60 or less every year in August.

      @seen3804 Hi. After clincials, we had a few more people get dropped or leave altogether. It just wasn't for everyone. I noticed the school I attend became more lenient with things like behavior and attendance in the last few months. I'm still alive and kicking. Not the top of the class, but not the bottom either. It's a challenge to retain all the information they throw at you. But I am trying my best. We are down to just under 100 students. About 96 or so. With all the male students still here, surprisingly. About 12 weeks to go before graduation. Now, to pass all those ATI comp predictors.... Thanks 😊

    I’ve been thinking about going to school for years but have always doubted myself since I wasn’t the best at school living in an abusive household. I just turned 30 and feel like it’s too late but I’m tired of my family struggling but I’m a wife, mom and employee and honestly terrified that I’ll fail. Coming from somebody who has worked in the nursing field as a tech with experience…I think it’s hard either way. What’s makes it’s HARDER is when you walk blindly into a program and you had no prior healthcare experience….then yes it will be the hardest thing because you are being challenged with something you’ve never done before. I already work the field so makes it a little easier. Great advice.

      Maybe he was stating from his experience. my moms a nurse and she said the same things as him. I dont think it’s to scare us but really to prepare us. Anything we want out of life will be hard work some things might be harder than others but in the end it’s hard work to be successful

      Rebecca I can empathize, as a RN allow me to explain what your credentials can do…. With my associates degree a bought 2 investment properties in Philadelphia and working on my 3rd in 3 year time span! I l looking to doing a joint venture with a real estate group ! My base salary is $75,000 working the most 37.5 hour work week as community nursing, in the tri-state area, I can work from home if there is a state emergency ( like today), my 2 row homes landed me gross salary of $28800 ! My preference is female gender but been through it and still go through it, but my purpose is my purpose!
