I am watching this as an LPN student who has been in school for 7 months with 8 more months to go. My plan is to pay off my car and buy a house. Then I would like to start investing after I get those goals done. I think the first mistake new grads do is go out and splurge, especially on luxury vehicles. I see so many seasoned nurses talk about it.

The problem is, allot of nurses present with a superiority complex opposed to being honest about how hard we have to work, the hours it takes to achieve the "lifestyle", and the amount of TAXES the government snatches. Nursing is a lot of things, but easy and glamorous, it's not.

Congratulations CJ 🎉. Knew you could do it! I went to that same school (Don’t worry I won’t disclose which one it is). The program was challenging. PEDS/OB was the worse. From experience I can say the other courses are a breeze. You got this!

I’m not interested in nursing exactly but I did obtain the CNA license in October and am beginning nursing school in 2025 due to family pressure. I will be looking more at your videos! love your vids bro. we have the same mindset. im tuned in every week. currently 25 with no kids and very little bills, in LPN school now and graduating in july. living below my means and working 60 hours a week is my goal and investing that into property and assets. you motivated me to stay on the right path!

Just sit and make your money

They never taught us about the work-life balance, BUT they always told us about debt. In school, everybody wanted that refund check after they took out tuition. That's where it started for a lot of us. If we listened when they told us to take only what we needed and to pay some of it off WHILE in school...a lot of us would not be in debt. It's also very easy to work full-time and go to school full-time...even part-time IF you don't have kids. Sorry, I said it. Not talking to those who have partners working and they paying all the bills.

It’s not up to the school to teach you financial stability. It’s learned through experience and practice and sick and tired of being broke. The schools can teach us but people won’t listen because America is a country or materialistic people that enjoy consumerism.

Your point about having a solid game plan for success in nursing really resonates with me. I served six years in the Navy, which has been a blessing-it allowed me to pursue my education debt-free while supporting myself. Through this journey, I’ve learned the importance of managing money wisely. As you said, learning how to manage money before you start making it is crucial for long-term success. I felt called by God to pursue nursing, and I’m drawn to the field not only because of the opportunity to serve others but also for the stability it provides. My plan is to pay off my existing debt within the first two years of working as a nurse, and from there, focus on saving and making meaningful investments. Looking ahead, my goal is to transition from bedside nursing within 3-4 years and specialize in Nursing Informatics, where I can combine my passion for healthcare and technology.
