    During my clinicals, I followed LPNs bec some of the snotty nurses don't wanna take nursing students. Anyway, this girl is in LPN-BSN track, she said it's purely online and very rigorous, but her tuition will be paid for by her employer. WIN-WIN!

    • @lecturionursing
      @lecturionursing  8 місяців тому +3

      It sounds like your experience following LPNs during your clinicals led you to an interesting conversation with a fellow student who is pursuing a LPN-BSN (Licensed Practical Nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing) program. The fact that her tuition is covered by her employer is indeed a great opportunity and a win-win situation for her.
      Online LPN-BSN programs can be rigorous, as they typically build upon the practical nursing knowledge and experience while adding the academic and clinical components necessary for a BSN degree. It's a beneficial pathway for LPNs who want to advance their careers and become registered nurses (RNs) with a bachelor's degree.
      Your fellow student's situation is a positive example of how some employers offer educational incentives to their employees to help them advance their careers. It can be motivating and financially beneficial for the individual while also helping the employer maintain a highly skilled nursing staff.

      @@saprissa9 I failed the ADN nursing school even though I had high grades because the nursing instructors loved to abuse the nursing students. There is no doubt in my mind that the specific woman instructor was feeling insecure and was feeding on negativity. I had to drop in the second year because it became unbearable. In the end I went to Medical Lab Sciences instead. The irony is I finished the BS program in half the time because I was taking 18 credit hours instead of 12 (and the instructors were excellent). Because of failing nursing though, so much hell came my way in those early years in US such as my wife started cheating on me and me loosing everything.

      Medical Assistants, LPN's, and RN's can all give injections. If you want to write and take notes, you're looking at a Medical Scribe. They just write down all the things doctors do during the exam.

    • @AlexisStarjai

      If you only want to take notes then don’t be a nurse. Lpn are nurses and do just about what RNs do.

    • @AngeloVanTerra
      @AngeloVanTerra 9 місяців тому +2

      Probably could look into being a medical scribe, but it'll be a much lower salary than a nurse. I would also keep in mind that there is a lot of medical scribe AI software on the market and that job might be phased out in the next decade.

    Should I pay for LPN to later bridge into RN?
    Or should I take 2 years of prerequisites to then apply for the RN program?

    • @ambersherillbeauty8278
      @ambersherillbeauty8278 Рік тому +6

      It’s cheaper to take the prerequisites and do the 2 year program. It’s more time but cheaper. In Texas where I am, the LVN/LPN program is 8,000 12 months, where as the RN program is 2 years and is 9,000. If you bridge you are going to be paying more and have to apply again and take teas or hesi twice. Just my opinion hope this helps

      Where I go (technical college), you needed to take an entrance exam, the NLN-PAX, and get a score of at least 100 to qualify for the LPN program and a score of 120 to get into the RN program. Not much of a difference, but a lot of students where I go wanted to do the RN program but didn't score high enough, so they opted to do the LPN program first.

      CNA’s are not nurses. Their role is to assist the nurse by helping patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, grooming, feeding, dressing, etc.). LPN & RN is a total different scope of practice, though assisting patients with activities of daily living are also within their scope of practice.

    Ive strongly been considering taking the LPN course. Currently, I am trying to become a CNA to see if I even like field of "nursing' in general. So, I'm starting there for now. If i like it, then I'll go for the LPN and maybe move on to RN. Thank you for such a positive video and validating that LPN's are just as important.

    • @Afluffycookie117
      @Afluffycookie117 8 місяців тому +1

      That honestly might be the best idea. I know CNA's don't make that much but gaining the experience and seeing if you even like it is a good way to start. Plus, from what I have heard from a few cna's that I have spoken to is that they pretty much do the same stuff a nurse does except pass medication, do blood transfusions...etc like the really important stuff

    • @lecturionursing
      @lecturionursing  8 місяців тому +2

      You're on the right track by starting as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to gain valuable experience and see if the field of nursing aligns with your interests and goals. CNAs play a crucial role in patient care and are an essential part of the healthcare team.
      If you find that you enjoy working in healthcare and providing direct patient care as a CNA, pursuing the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) course can be a great next step. LPNs also play vital roles in patient care, and they have additional responsibilities compared to CNAs, including administering medications and providing more complex care.

    Hi I came to American some months ago and my mind set was to continue with my nursing program.
    I notice it will take me a long time and that’s what everyone does we just follow the crowd.
    And I did my research about an easier way.
    So I enrolled for LPN it take a less time and money to do and later just complete with the RN.
    The fact is this two positions are almost same the biggest difference is LPN are supervised or monitored while RN are not.
    But the LPN pay is good.
