Shakey Cam: Sherburn In Elmet...8th March, 1985

A 1985 drive through Sherburn In Elmet.
Lots of changes, in the village, since this was filmed.
A mile long bypass built in the late 1990`s.
Sissons Haulage moved to the industrial estate, near the bypass.
Squires Milk Bar a popular place for bikers.
Moved to Newthorpe just a few miles down the road from Sherburn, in 2002.
Amd lots of large housing estates built, & an Aldi Supermarket.

I was born in 82 and have lived my life in Sherburn, I can't express how wonderful it was to watch this; a time warp back to a time I have vague memories of. Love the drive up New Lane into the sunset, was hoping you'd end up on Highfields. Thank you for posting and sharing.

As someone who was born in the year 2000 and have lived in Sherburn my whole life and have watched it slowly change over the years, this was absolutely fascinating to watch! Thank you for this. I have often wondered what it was like back in my parents days.
