One of my favorite songs in the amazing Moody Blues catalog! They take me to places I have never been before. Their music is the Soundtrack of My Life. Words escape me time and again.
LOVE THE MOODY BLUES, Love the ACTOR!! No one like them! Their music has made me smile, made me happy and has made me cry," The Actor" is beautiful and reaches my soul...
20 + years after the original, and now almost 20 years since this tv appearance, and Justin's voice is still as beautiful as ever, singing these haunting melancholy lyrics. Moody Blues and Justin have always been and continue to be excellent.
Out the (11) versions I've heard of this song (Live & the album), I feel this is the best performance ever. Simple, using guitars and Justins voice is perfect.
Just beautiful...saw Justin perform solo this past winter 2015 in NYC. His voice was beautiful, strong and evocative. His guitar work flawless. He possesses such a Gift.
The sound I have heard in your Hello....thats such a memorable line of this beautiful song. Great to see Justin and John do an unplugged version of The Actor, here, its beautiful 💕🎵🎶🎵
In 1988 when I was senior in high school my literature teacher Mr. Lawrence pushed Moody Blues and Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd and Hendrix records on us kids..God Bless mister Lawrence. He made sure we understood the importance of these artists and how influential they were.
The curtain rises on the scene With someone shouting to be free The play unfolds before my eyes There stands the actor who is me The sleeping hours take us far From traffic, telephones and fear Put out your problems with the cat Escape until a bell you hear Our reasons are the same But there's no-one we can blame For there's nowhere we need go And the only truth we know comes so easily
I have had a special place in my mind that I can go to for awhile, when everything around me is nonsensical chaos. It isn't some where that one enters at will, but when you're called, you gladly leave the bland, gray world behind. You may enter before, during, or after a beautiful song is played. No one knows when, but only that the music never ends. It's always there, but there are so many external distractions, that we are drawn away. Don't go! You were meant to hear the music - "Watching and Waiting", Tuesday Afternoon", "I never thought I'd get to be a Million". "Gypsy", "Out and In", "Question" - the Anthem of our generation and so it goes on to inspire us to be and to do, better...
Where are the falsettos in the chorus? I was so excited to hear this after I scrolled upon it. John Lodge's falsetto accents to the songs of the Moody Blues lent a TON to its sound, its identity. Gave them a choral pedigree that no one else had. Only the high-pitched accents of Randy Meisner's voice on Eagle's songs comes close.
These Moodies are musician songriters who blew away a lot of critics 'cause their simple multidimensional graceful art, their tireless calling, their lovely, fabulous, touching art was, as oft the case, too much for the average sleepwalker to fathom and deal with
I remember this so clearly back then.. the silly cow who interviewed them, opened a window before the lads come on and the temperature difference put Justin's guitar out of tune... silly mare !!
Justin Hayward has quite possibly the most beautiful voice ever.
Justin’s voice is so beautiful and hauntingly familiar in all of his songs!

Justin Hayward's voice is so beautiful in this clip.
In my opinion, the most beautiful male voice on the face of this planet earth!

It takes me back to my youth! A lovely song.
Such a joy to see this. I love the acoustic sounds of Justin and John together. Thank you.

Brilliant
They're not "almost part of me", they are a part. A big part of my soundtrack
How very true "You're almost part of me"
........Magical Moody .....
Listening with headphones.... too bad it only comes through on one side! :(
I love them.. and this song is so beautiful!
"The only truth we know comes so easily" -- it brings him -- "The sound he hath heard in her hello -- it brings him endless love

Oh my did I ever play their albums over and over again in the early 70's. I still can just listen to them all day and now I am 67.
I always had to babysit my sister's 3 kids when they went to see the guys...
DAM!!!!!!!!!!!!! FINE!!!!!!!!
I always wondered what problems he had with the poor cat..:-)
Cats used to always be put outside at night. \/O\/

They took brilliant advantage of the resources of the stuidio in making their albums, but didn't need the studio to sound great. As they do here.

25 years? uhhhhhhhh...........
Disappointed.
I thought most English men are gay............they aren't.........
wolfe david is it because of the accent?
