I'd take Jackie Burns over Idina any day. I saw Jackie on Broadway twice and she had a voice that would send chills up your spine. I'd never seen/heard the Wicked soundtrack at the first show or even been remotely close to liking any Broadway show...when she hit the final note of Defying Gravity, I literally turned to my wife and was like "wow....just wow." Fastforward 6 months to my 30th Birthday and we sat front row and I was in heaven. She and Amanda Jane Cooper were absolutely incredible.
Emily Legault The concept was that Jackie has played two of Idina's iconic roles, and since she was taking on "Elsa" for the Party we decided to meld the three things. There's no "Rent" because that didn't have to do with either Jackie or Elsa. :-)
Just saying, she should totally be considered for the role of Elphaba in the film Wicked if they decide to NOT cast the original pairing because she would SLAY that role.
Omg for those who dont know "Hey it's me." It's Adele Dazeem's first line in the musical If/Then. A role originally played by Dazeem and was also played by Jackie later!
I nearly cried when I heard it brought in here. I love If/Then. And it is my favorite role of Idina's. And one of my favorite musicals ever. But it never gets attention like I believe it deserves.
I had the pleasure of seeing Jackie in the touring production of Wicked. When she sang Defying Gravity I was literally shaking because she did such an amazing job singing that song. The audience roared so loud when she hit that last note. Man her voice is absolutely breathtakingly incredible.
I don't even know what to say.. Seriously... HOLY SHIT! My jaw is on the floor! I saw her in Wicked a few months ago and thought she was amazing, but this takes her to a whole new level.. Like, it's so impossible to explain how fucking FANTASTIC this was!
Jackie is my fav. I saw her in if/then twice and both times I was crying. I even have an autographed picture with her in my viola case after she saw me perform "Always Starting Over" :)
Gahhh people those two final notes were the best thing in the world and you drown them out completely with your unnecessary screeching! Wait till she's done, *then* yell your lungs out if you have to!
I love her voice! She can definitely sing like Idina, but while Idina belts and seems to wear out her voice quickly, Jackie seems to be able to belt in a healthier way. Both are talented tho, so I can't say too much.
Fun fact: So, the Liz & Beth that're mentioned near the end of this melody are references to If/Then. Her name is Elizabeth, and the primary way to tell which life you're looking at, is which name is used. She's known as Liz for half of the show, and Beth for the other half. And it's a genius storytelling device in my opinion.
I did not expect to get emotional over this?? But I mean with all of the bad rep that Frozen has gotten since it's blown up this Frozen fan has gone undercover And hearing Let It Go (even snip-its of it) performed to this caliber?? I don't care how bad it is I need to see Frozen when it opens
People should appreciate Jackie for being amazing. She's so much more than idina's standby/replacement/look alike
Cierra They're both amazing artists and honestly Jackie's voice is stronger in a lot of ways. Powerhouses for sure!
Amanda Olsen Jackie's voice is incredible but it's her phrasing that makes me melt. She's just fantastic.
Agree. And the way she sings is so much healthier.
Rizwan Jagani agree 👍 definitely

That's the best "let the storm rage OOOOON" I've ever heard from anyone.
Louise Litchee SAME OMG IT WAS SO CLEAN AND SPOT ON

Forgot about this comment. I still agree with myself 👍
"Help me make a blizzard" GENIUS 😂
Ben, god bless you and Laura for these broadway princess parties. They always improve my life by like 1000%.
JustTrang TRUTH
It bugged me that there was nothing from RENT but THIS IS PERFECTION

Benjamin Rauhala loved that beaches reference btw
Ben, there is a good Rent reference she could've done. "Hey mister! She's my sister!"
Emily L yesss same
"that could help me make...a blizzard!" I love this!😁
She even did the breathing--that "hiccup" during Defying Gravity 😂😂😂 completely spot on! I enjoyed this so much 😍
She is so perfect! She HAS to be elphie in the Wicked movie!
I was NOT prepared for that
That Eb5 was so crystal clear like it was the actual recording. She literally belted her ass off looking so effortless doing it! Im so obsessed! 😍
Literally?
Just saying, she should totally be considered for the role of Elphaba in the film Wicked if they decide to NOT cast the original pairing because she would SLAY that role.
Tyler Kohrs agreed
That's what I said to her at the stage door last night
I think they would be better casting teenagers/people in their early twenties, but yes she is amazing!
I definetly support this! She is stunning!I was surpried by this medley!
Cynthia erivo has been cast instead
Wow she belted that last Let It Go note without any issues whatsoever. 😱

I don't even know what to say.. Seriously... HOLY SHIT! My jaw is on the floor! I saw her in Wicked a few months ago and thought she was amazing, but this takes her to a whole new level.. Like, it's so impossible to explain how fucking FANTASTIC this was!
I just love her! She really should be the Elphaba in the upcoming Wicked movie. Congrats for the channel. Hugs from Brazil! \o/
Ewerton Silva agreed!!
There are rumors that Lea Michele will be elpahaba
My niece, funnily enough named Adele, is just developing a love of Wicked and already loves Frozen. Something tells me she will love this!!
Jackie is my fav. I saw her in if/then twice and both times I was crying. I even have an autographed picture with her in my viola case after she saw me perform "Always Starting Over" :)
Rizwan Jagani how did she see you perform???!!!! How awesome!!!!
Marika Marklin I recorded and produced a video of that song and I tweeted it to her. She saw it :D. It's on my channel
Also low key watching this over and over just to hear the "Hey it's me."
Jackie Burns is so incredible!
This is probably one of my most favorite things on the internet right now.
Why doesn't this have a million views!?! It's amazing
Gahhh people those two final notes were the best thing in the world and you drown them out completely with your unnecessary screeching! Wait till she's done, *then* yell your lungs out if you have to!

Ohmygod. What a powerhouse.
I love her voice! She can definitely sing like Idina, but while Idina belts and seems to wear out her voice quickly, Jackie seems to be able to belt in a healthier way. Both are talented tho, so I can't say too much.
I love this part so much: 0:39 Elphaba
Petition to have Jackie Burns play the next Elsa in Frozen Broadway please and thank you.
I saw her at the last performance of the If/Then tour in August and she is so lovely as a performer and human being!
Omg, Goosebumps all over the place, love it
Jackie Burns is the love child of Idina and Lea Michele.
Braden Mills that is exactly what I thought
