This is a star wars video about video games, but not jedi fallen order with cal kestis or battlefront 2 by ea and dice, the force unleashed, or even lego star wars the skywalker saga. I hope that game has characters from the clone wars, The Mandalorian, and the book of boba fett. I sure do love the prequel trilogy, sequel trilogy, and original trilogy as well. I hope we get the Obi-Wan Kenobi Trailer soon starring Ewan Mcgregor and Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker

Despite not voicing his character in this game, Hayden Christensen actually did help with Anakin's lightsaber combat moves for this game, it's mainly why his combat moves are so damn good in this game, you can see it in this clip. ua-cam.com/video/qI_GwqKuplA/v-deo.html
That always confused me I own the 2004 original trilogy dvd box set that has the special features that showed Hayden and I was like but if he helped with the moves why not the voice. But since they used Clone Wars Obi it made sense. James is one of the few actors to do both Clone Wars series
I always got the sense Anakin's assault on the Jedi temple went into detail because of how the film largely skipped over it for the most part, what they were held back from showing in the film they made up for in the game...that said the way it was portrayed in the film was fine for me, the novel though...oof
What happened in the novel? Most people agree the novel is far better than the actual movie lol
For those who dont know, this game was added to the Xbox one backwards compatibility list. So you can now play the Original recipe xbox disc for this game in your current gen xbox

I just want to say that as a kid I didnt know that you could force heal and I still managed to get through the whole game while I was 8 or so. Has nothing to do with the video, I just wanted to brag about it.

I didn't understand I was supposed to press down the thumbsticks until a friend told me. Kid me felt silly.
SAME! I didn't even know that there were combos either. I just spammed the light attack button, and occasionally grabbed my way to victory.
@@the_oc_maniac8972 I think I learned Obi-wan's spin kick move and just spammed that move. As for Anakin...I forgot what I did.
It happened to me the same haha, but from my part I felt lot of satisfaction when I beated the game and after you realise how much change the difficulty like this haha
Edit: I didn't know what was R3 and L3 and I forgot about the option of healing
Without cheats, this game is pain in my asshole.
Also Matt Lucas makes Hayden sound like an Oscar nominee.
I absolutely love this Star Wars game. Revenge Of The Sith was an incredible story to make a lightsaber combat based video game. And in my opinion it has the best lightsaber to lightsaber combat in any star wars game ever. All the characters have their own specific lightsaber style right from the Expanded Universe. And you get to fully embrace the dark side as Anakin hunting jedi in the temple. 10/10. Subbed as well.
It's not even close to the combat in Jedi Academy .
I think this was the best Star Wars game for lightsaber combat. All things considered, though, I do think Lego Star Wars and Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2005) are better games overall and have much more replayability. The Episode III movie game, does feel a little repetitive near the end and although the combat is great, the level design is bland and linear. I agree that it is a massively underrated game and the level of Anakin in the jedi temple is one of my favorite levels in any star wars game!

@@kennythefatnord you don't feel that you are doing combos, just pressing click all the time , you don't feel that interaction between the characters while they are fighting meanwhile in revenge of the sith totally yes and are combos that are really satisfactory. Is really nice the hole game and levels but in terms of light saber combat is simpler than revenge of the sith.

Does anyone think that Yoda level looks like a reference to the special feature scene of him breakdancing with the Clones? Looks like a similar room and setup of Clones
Also, fun fact, Nic Gillard spelt backwards is Cin Drallig (that's how they got his name). I got the Prima Games strategy guide and it gave that cool piece of trivia!
That transition from the movie scene to the game cutscene with anakin and windu was pretty dope
13:20 At this point of the game, Anakin gets Sith Lightning Ability, I used the lightning ability to win fight easy peasy. But with that laser, just run towards one side of the level and spam jump.

I remember playing this and lego Star Wars when they were coming out. And the lego game spoiled how Dooku and Padmé died. It was even funnier when you kill Dooku in the game, he gets stabbed, yet in the movie he’s be headed

I think the reason that Padme not being in the game was an intentional spoiler aversion since the game was scheduled for release before the movie. That was really the primary story element of RotS, so saving Anakin's main motivation for the theatrical experience makes sense.

When I was a kid I had no idea how to do anything so I didn't know how to use Force Heal, so I was spending every level without healing. made it a bit harder. Jedi temple level had me crying

During those clone assassin levels you could hear a motor noise as they dodged. I think they were enhanced with cybernetics that allowed them to move faster. The way to kill them for me was to let them do their combo while blocking, then when they are done to slash. It took longer but it got results. Also my favorite character in versus was Grievous. Nobody could beat me when I played as him. Armored Vader was my least favorite, way to slow. Also this is the only SW game a blind person can play. I was able to beat levels 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7 once, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14 with the infinite force cheat so I can zap the gunship with lightning until it dies, 16, and 17. I also saw a playthrough where the person was able to deflect the gunships blaster fire back into it so it was dead before it could come back around and fire the misiles.
Don't sell out man. I love how chill this channel is. This game is my second favorite behind BF2. I dumped waaaaaay too much time into this game lmao

Holy shit, I thought I was the only person who played this game as a kid, never thought I'd see a video essay about one of my favourite games from childhood!
I think my favourite part of this game is in the versus mode, when Anakin dies he lets out the most angsty, constipated yell I've heard and I love it
I remember back when I played this I’d purposely plug in a second controller just so I can play as the alternate costumes in mirror matches. If they remade this game I’d like to see the alternate costumes be an option for any fight, not just for mirror matches.
Fun fact. The only reference to Padme is in a voice dialogue when you’re playing as Anakin in the mustafar fight. It’s the third or fourth voice line from Anakin during the fight in the computer control room. It’s “You turned Padme against me!” For those who don’t want to bust out their PS2 and play through a 2005 game.
I also LOVE how when you play as Ben Kenobi in multiplayer duels, right before you die (when the red health bar is blinking), if you hit the right combo you lift your lightsaber up and you make the motion where when you die, you disappear into the force like in the movie and the fight ends with you as a robe pile.
I remember way too much about this game. God I miss it.

The Jedi Temple lvl with Anakin always was my favorite bc u got to fight other lightsaber wielding enemies. This was the thing I wanted to see in the movie so it was like the missing piece of the story

Love your channel. Never knew Nick Gillard had a hand in the game!? I had similar gripes with the faithfulness of the console versions of this game particularly Padmé being missing/Anakin’s turn being sped through. I think the GBA and DS versions are worth a look for you. The same 2D scroller style on both with a vibrant art style + the DS has a starfighter mode to boot! The cutscenes are just pictures but Padmé features and it’s just got slightly more in the way of plot! Keep up the amazing vids :)

I loved this game as kid, Anakin was my favorite to play as especially the assault on the jedi temple and he was the hardest boss fight for me. I beat all the other bosses on my first or second try but Anakin killed me at least 10 times.

me and my friends have always said this is by far the best star wars game ever, we used to have whole hang out seshs where we would just hold tournaments in the vs mode, it has the best one on one multiplayer lightsaber fights that is likely to come out ever, the fights can get so deep that me and my best friend had a fight that lasted half an hour because neither of us could hit each other because we kept parrying then parrying the parrys, what a great game

I loved this game, playing it with my brother and beating it thoroughly, using the cool 1v1s with the awesome differing abilities, and loving to slice apart the droids, and impale the jedi brutally again and again.
Child me has some words about that damn Mace Windu fight, i had a hell of a time beating that. And Dooku, that first boss fight felt like i brought a small stick to a lightsaber duel

A starwars based mortal kombat style fighting game would be sick. With all the new characters from clone wars, rebels, mandalorian, sequel trilogy(which was bad but had cool characters) etc they could easily fill an entire 50+ person roster with Jedi, sith, bounty hunters etc. As long as they do it right then it should be a great game.
They could even do DLC’s with characters from the legends expanded universe, diff maps etc. i wish this would happen

I asked Aspyr on Twitter yesterday if they ever considered release this title on PS4, and they said that they are interested releasing every old Star Wars games in all platforms as posible, because they asre huge Star Wars fans, if they see many people asking for it, they would work on it. I strongly suggest you guys to send this petition to them on Twitter. They usually reply your comments or demands like mine, so you just need to ask for it.

This is exactly why I bought a Series X. ROTS is one of the few sixth gen Star Wars games I never played, and because Microsoft actually cares about backwards compatibility, I can play this game without having to buy an old console. I still haven't gotten around to playing it yet because I've been too distracted with other games, but it _is_ sitting on my shelf, right next to a copy of Jedi Starfighter.

@@connorlewis04 I'm pretty sure all the Star Wars games from the OG Xbox are backwards compatible. If you google "xbox backwards compatibility list" the first result should be a page on Xbox's website. They have a list of every single backwards compatible game from each system.
I didn’t know this existed up until a few years back which is crazy. I can’t believe the game spoiled the movie before the movie came out. 😳 I am going to have to play this one day! I just have to find out which version works with a an Xbox one or ps5 😂
