As much as people hate the loss of star ratings, maybe you could have a more complex rating system, as a simple rating of 1-5 cannot fully tell the story behind some cards.
I don't think "Hollow Hound" + "Always a Bigger Jormungar" works as described here. I tried it in arena, and unless I am misremembering, the adjacent minion damage did not Trample. Has anyone verified it works as described in the video?
It did for me yesterday, I buffed a hollow hound with the two mana draw a beast spell then gave it always a bigger Jormungr and did like 20 damage on a swing turn and my opponent conceded immediately.
Bioluminescence has been a card I’ve wanted to build around for a while and have had not a lot of success with, I think this expansion it becomes consistent.
This expansion feels really cool to watch, but a little less to play. I really, really like that each class has a pretty defined win-con from the cards released (except maybe Priest? if you don't count the dream of infinite Ra-dens/Automatons) but seeing a lot of lethal-from-hand combos does feel a little bad. Like if the Mage you're against just draws Sif and they have enough Bolts you die. If the Shaman has enough minion spawners + Bio you're dead. Control (Armor) Warrior could possibly tank either and then kill them the following turn by swinging for 30. Bigger Jormungar + Hollow Hound, you're getting a Collateral that deals 3 less damage (if you hit three minions) that heals you for 15 (again, assuming three minions), and excess hitting face, which also heals, if I'm not mistaken? I really, really like the design of a lot of the cards, and personally I enjoy playing more control-oriented strategies in games, but sometimes it feels really bad when you're playing Control, your opponent's playing Control, and only one of you can instakill the other person, turning the game into "Can I rush them down before turn X/they draw lethal?" Or if you both can insta and it becomes "Who draws better/higher quality cards/answers to the board."
Thanks for the content I would've watched the star reviews but I don't think they are necessary as most of your thoughts are in the reveal reviews. I like this type of vid as well. Thanks again 😁

I think Trumpo is getting baited on Overload Shaman not being terrible simply because it always is but it would be cool if that archetype worked for once.
I agree with Trump that there will be OTK decks coming up that Control Priest and Warlock are going to have trouble with (almost unwinnable maybe). But in my experience, aggro decks and fast mech decks, and other tempo decks in general, are going to be more popular than OTK. People like fast games, and going for fast runs to legendary status. I will probably still play my control priest and perhaps auto-concede if I realize I'm up against an OTK deck, which will likely not be that often. Especially when those OTK decks turn out to be super weak to aggro and sticky mech stuff. We will have to see how it all shapes up.
In the absence of a star ratings, let's review how accurate these are: 10: IGNIS, THE ETERNAL FLAME Mostly Correct - Ignis is run in a lot of decks, but mostly slow Control decks like Control Priest and Armor Warrior. However, it's irrelevant in the top meta decks such as Rainbow Mage and Secret Hunter, despite them running Forge cards. 9: GEAR SHIFT Correct! - Gear Shift is the main draw engine powering Mech Rogue. Returning useless cards to your deck for a chance to draw better cards is usually worth it. 8: STEAM GUARDIAN Wrong - Warrior is in a really rough spot right now, with Control Warrior largely flopping and most other versions of Warrior either being really bad or really boring. Steam Guardian is good in Enrage Warrior, but nobody wants to play Enrage Warrior, despite it having good on paper performance. 7: ALWAYS A BIGGER JORMUNGAR Correct! - ABJ is an amazing utility in Hound Hunter and Secret Hunter. The key though is not to tunnel vision on the Hound - it's good to toss this onto high Attack minions to allow them to proactively trade while pushing damage. 6: DISCIPLE OF EONAR He's Not Wrong... but he's far from Correct - Druid is in an awkward spot in the metagame right now, with a great matchup against Hunter and Rainbow Mage, but horrendous into Mech Rogue, which makes it borderline nonviable. Even within the deck, Embrace of Nature is generally considered the stronger card due to how it tutors your power cards and empowers them. 5: JOTUN, THE ETERNAL Correct! - Relic DH loves being able to cast Relics for free, and most auto-cast DH spells are insanely good. Other DH decks don't really exist due to them either falling off hard in the rotation or not getting any new cards. 4: FLASH OF LIGHTNING Correct! - Flash of Lightning is core to Nature Shaman's win condition, with the aura discount being core to the deck's OTKs. Unfortunately it is also a major telegraph that you're setting up for a power turn (or OTK), so your opponent has the opportunity to Alibi or Speaker Stomper you and delay your combo. 3: SIF Correct! It's rather easy for Mages to generate spells of other classes between the generation they have. Major contributor to the viability of Reverberations and the deck's ability to punish TItans. 2: INQUISITIVE CREATION Correct! Also correct this card does more work enabling the deck than Sif - A 4 mana 3/4 which can clear most boards at any stage of the game is really powerful, and it's rather easy to get it to a state where it can do that. 1: GOLGANNETH, THE THUNDERER Correct! - One of the core cards to Nature Shaman, and a major way to help the deck stabilize against Aggro, draw to its combo, or kill rival Titans. It's a powerful enabler, though its relevance on the combo turns is rather limited usually. HONORABLE MENTION: ODYN, PRIME DESIGNATE Mostly Correct - Odyn's problem is not at all combo decks - in fact, Control Warrior is one of the few Control decks with a favorable matchup into Rainbow Mage. Unfortunately, it struggles to get to the lategame when its inevitability is fully online. 8 mana do nothing is tough to play, after all, and most decks won't give the Control Warrior that breathing room. HONORABLE MENTION: SARGERAS, THE DESTROYER Correct! - Warlock looked so disgusting in the first few days of the expansion. Unfortunately, it loses to more refined decks like Control Priest and Nature Shaman which are well equipped to play around its value bombs, or just kill it from full. Sargeras is also really funny against Control Warriors, because you just pick the Taunts and they can't do anything for the rest of the game. HONORABLE MENTION: AMAN'THUL Mostly Correct - For all the reasons he provided. Control Priest is a really popular deck right now, mostly because it no sells Mech Rogue. However, its matchup spread is rough with lots of unfavorable matchups like Nature Shaman and Rainbow Mage which delete it from full, or Relic DH which keeps summoning Bigger and Bigger Green Men.
So what I think is going to happen, the timeline of this expasion will be: First people will think those combo decks are good and a lot of people will try them, but then what in reality will happen is that the aggro decks will be better and will just kill them, because they did got new cards, so my prediction will be that first part of the expansion will be DK with 1-2 unholy and 1-2 frost plague aggro deck, Paladin with either Pure or Mech aggro, and Mimiron Rogue being a deck that can pull insane boards and also the first deck to get nerfed(the 1/1 magnetic perma stealth is what I'm calling will be the first nerf), and then after they'll nerf some aggro cards in those decks, and buff survavibility in the decks Trump called as tier 1. -This will be second phase where those decks finally get to dominate the meta, and the actual broken cards will be broken and cause a lot of oppression, and finally after that they'll be nerfed. -Then it will enter the final phase where I belive it's the control decks that will rise up and actually be good decks, with probably Warrior and Warlock being the classes to get tier 1, and Priest will probably find a way because... it's Priest... ~Can't wait to see how wrong I'll be, but this is what I think will happen...
I think it is going back to the classic rock paper scissors meta of control beads agro , agro beads OTK and infinite value, and infinite value and otk bead control.
Please also do an Arena Star Rating for every I dividual card... Like the normal card rating for the early sets, where the "Star Ratings" were not done in groups ( although it might make sense)
Maybe Trump isn't playing Control Warrior aggressively enough. I mean why not think of Warrior as Hero Power Druid once Odin is up? With Ignis, Warrior and Druid can also do an OTK if they get any cost weapon with Windfury. Actually Rogues and Demon Hunters can do it too but their class forge cards aren't good enough. Bottom line: Control Warrior should drop the control game and start hitting +5 to the face each turn once Odin is up
Wouldn't gaining armour be a potential way to survive OTK? I don't know the math on how much damage Shaman or Mage combos are likely to do, but it's conceivable that Warrior and Druid could stack enough armour to survive it.
Who are you, people who say that Trump's Star Reviews suck? Are you actually subscribed/enjoying his content? I was excited to see Star Reviews like many others here. Obviously, Trump doesn't have to do it if he doesn't want to, that's the worst kind of UA-cam you can be doing. But still, it's always fun to watch Star Reviews. "But they are often wrong", yeah, and so what? It's fun to try to guess what cards will do great/poorly. And for us viewers, it's fun to compare star reviews of multiple UA-camrs, seeing how wrong/right some of them were, etc. Star Reviews are not meant to be taken 100% seriously. No one can claim to know the future, and we always get surprises each expansion. Anyway, sorry for writing such a long message and thank you for reading. I just wish people would watch only what they want to watch, UA-cam would be much better that way.
I think you guys forgot to upload the star reviews first... I mean you technically can upload the top 10 first, and also watch it in any order, but I rather get the star reviews first and then watch the top 10... but I'll be waiting hopefully...
My new Mage Tactic use Siv have at least Spellpower +4 use the Card that reduces Arcane Spells cost for 1 and spam a hand full of Arcane Bolts into the Face :) 5 are enough to have 30 damage and 4 + Hero Power are 29 :)
The rogue mechs look incredibly scary, they can pretty much have a battlegrounds board by turn 5. I think Trump is blinded by the promise of having control meta.
I dont see control warlock lose to druid due to you summoning 2 3/4 taunts each turn would cost 4 nature spells with topior each turn to clear and druid has veru limiited removal so they wont be able to push that dmg to face. Mage is going to be disastrous though
I hope when demon Hunter, mage, shaman, and Hunter get nerfed. Devil like priest get hit too, so it’s not just prieststone again, and some of the other cool decks like control Paladin, control warrior, etc can be more competitive
Control decks essentially being dead is miserable. They need to print some decent disruption or ways to counter combos. Calling a deck that only plans to OTK a control deck is a stretch. Shaman and Mage are purely combo.
i think disciple of eonar will not see play because of the much more broken 1 drop draw tutor spell Embrace of nature, that has the same effect as eonar but curves and tutors much better with druids ramp gameplan. disciple will probably be a decent card but is unlikely to see play unless a true dedicated choose one deck makes its way in the meta. In all other decks embrace of nature is just vastly superior
Can’t believe Trump didn’t try Blackrock & roll in control warrior. Says control warrior can’t close games without actually trying any of the game enders like trench stalker or a buffed Minotauren
With the way this expansion looks, I feel like control doesn't exist anymore. There is simply combo and aggro. The definition of control was always defensive play and out value your opponent but with so many decks having relentless discover options with few draw backs.... traditional control seems pointless
Are the OTK decks going to be able to OTK warrior through the massive amounts of armour that minotauren can generate is my question. Sif mage has a damage ceiling of 40 with sif + 4 arcane bolts (not accounting for infinitize random generation), shaman i dont even know how to calculate. I think the real challenger to control warrior is gonna be relic DH
@@HighLanderPonyYT Nay, I say. I'll just have to play with every class and every card through a value lens now. So I can gain a similar feel for how to rate them.
Why no Star Reviews? Quick maths doesn't check out for Runic Greatmace? Isnt it 30 + 48? It is not 80+?
Maybe Trump isn't playing Control Warrior aggressively enough. I mean why not think of Warrior as Hero Power Druid once Odin is up?
With Ignis, Warrior and Druid can also do an OTK if they get any cost weapon with Windfury. Actually Rogues and Demon Hunters can do it too but their class forge cards aren't good enough.
Bottom line: Control Warrior should drop the control game and start hitting +5 to the face each turn once Odin is up
Gear shift is actual brainstorm lmao.
Please bring back star reviews, its the only reason i come here to watch late reviews
No Rogue Mechs on the list? Reminds me of the good old times of Dr Boom evaluation😀
Wouldn't gaining armour be a potential way to survive OTK? I don't know the math on how much damage Shaman or Mage combos are likely to do, but it's conceivable that Warrior and Druid could stack enough armour to survive it.
Have been doing that consistently with Odyn Riff Warrior🔥
I’ve seen the theorycrafting streams. We’re in for a couple months of mage-stone.
My new Mage Tactic use Siv have at least Spellpower +4 use the Card that reduces Arcane Spells cost for 1 and spam a hand full of Arcane Bolts into the Face :) 5 are enough to have 30 damage and 4 + Hero Power are 29 :)
Did Trump just forget that Reverberations exists regarding Sif?
I love the star reviews, Trump. Best Thing every expansion listening to your reasoning.
Thanks for the video!
The rogue mechs look incredibly scary, they can pretty much have a battlegrounds board by turn 5.
I think Trump is blinded by the promise of having control meta.
I just want someone to talk about me like Trump talks about Inquisitive Creation.
I dont see control warlock lose to druid due to you summoning 2 3/4 taunts each turn would cost 4 nature spells with topior each turn to clear and druid has veru limiited removal so they wont be able to push that dmg to face. Mage is going to be disastrous though
lets see what the mini set brings
Always a bigger jormungar is gonna get hound (or itself) nerfed. Also I think forge of wills deserves a spot, it's a deck defining card
Hope you're doing alright Trump, wishing you the best
No star ratings? 😢 i miss the trump reviews trump reviews trump reviews days...
Very sad to see no star reviews. Hopefully you will listen to your community and change your mind 😢
Really sad we’re missing the star reviews :,(
Nice quick vid :))
Just waiting for the react on the Sharghan's wrath nerf announcement that matches your error
He did the star reviews on stream then left before recording for Jens.
A very spicy list, curious to see how it pans out
Odyn isn’t a control card lmao
Oops didn’t mean this in the reply
Less card reviews more gamplay!
I hope when demon Hunter, mage, shaman, and Hunter get nerfed. Devil like priest get hit too, so it’s not just prieststone again, and some of the other cool decks like control Paladin, control warrior, etc can be more competitive
siiiigh... looks like another big fat Stormwind-style combo meta is coming. There goes all my excitement down the drain...
Control decks essentially being dead is miserable. They need to print some decent disruption or ways to counter combos.
Calling a deck that only plans to OTK a control deck is a stretch. Shaman and Mage are purely combo.
Who would'a thought that the titanforged would be stronger than the Titans themselves.
i think disciple of eonar will not see play because of the much more broken 1 drop draw tutor spell Embrace of nature, that has the same effect as eonar but curves and tutors much better with druids ramp gameplan. disciple will probably be a decent card but is unlikely to see play unless a true dedicated choose one deck makes its way in the meta. In all other decks embrace of nature is just vastly superior
Can’t believe Trump didn’t try Blackrock & roll in control warrior. Says control warrior can’t close games without actually trying any of the game enders like trench stalker or a buffed Minotauren
Why aren't you doing stars
I thought this video was suppose to be about Trump. 😂 It’s about Heartstone 😅
With the way this expansion looks, I feel like control doesn't exist anymore. There is simply combo and aggro. The definition of control was always defensive play and out value your opponent but with so many decks having relentless discover options with few draw backs.... traditional control seems pointless
Comments missing the star ratings meanwhile I yearn for Trump Reviews Trump Reviews 😢
I think the real challenger to control warrior is gonna be relic DH
lol I can't believe he puts the warrior cards as impactful given how easily he was trounced in his playtest.
So excited for tomorrow
The fact that my most anticipated expansion has not gotten a star review makes me incredibly sad...
You'll have more time to touch grace
@@HighLanderPonyYT Nay, I say. I'll just have to play with every class and every card through a value lens now. So I can gain a similar feel for how to rate them.
I love how everyone is saying "no star reviews" when Trump rated TITANS cards 3 days ago 😂
Trump has star reviews if u want to watch 4 hour unedited twich stream
I hate how Team 5 "hates" to create keywords and instead has 2 and a half line descriptions.
Dammit dudes why couldn't we have nice things, I always liked Trumps reviews, why do people make fun of him so much, he doesn't deserve it.
Welcome back to Shamanstone
lab constructor is really missing here every time i saw that card played it was disgusting
Why no Star Reviews? I think it's too difficult to follow up with every single video individually (each Titan/Class and so, since they're not all together in one video), and it's one of the main reasons I still follow Trump even if I don't play HearthStone anymore. Huge bummer tbh :(
Hopefully Star Reviews are back by next expansion
True we need star reviews for trump reviews trump reviews
I hope they're still coming.
I also think it's a shame "Trump reviews Trump reviwes" is no longer a thing, I also loved watching those, since I didn't always follow the meta and it was nice to see how it ended up in the end and how right (or usually wrong) Trump was.
@@noidea2568trump reviews trump reviews makes 0 sense when we get nerfs every 2 weeks instead of 2 months. He'd be reviewing a 9 day long meta.
Yes I feel like Blizz used to try to get it right the first time and only adjusted balance on expansions, or when absolutely necessary.
Maybe their philosophy or capabilities changed when trying to juggle so many constantly updating multiplayer games like HotS, Hearthstone, Overwatch...
So sad there's no star reviews :(
Gear shift is why I hate modern HS design. 1 mana draw 3? Well, I guess it's not 1 mana draw 4.
sif is probably not gonna be good enough since its hard to get over 40 dmg, and hard controle decks will get over 40 health against controle mage
I hope you're right. I'm not a fan of combo metas
Only warrior can get over 40 health though!
