In regards to the spark zebstrika, I’m pretty sure AI doesn’t take into account abilities unless they “know” you have that ability. So since the AI never triggered lighting rod, it acted as if you didn’t have it.
@@zacharyyoungblood7013 If the AI saw a kill with spark (without knowing about lightning rod), it can go for it regardless of it not being very effective
Sometimes it really does feel like the gen 5 ai reads your inputs when you switch though. Often choosing a move that isn't good against your current mon but hits the one you swapped into harder. Although one time when I was in the white 2 drayden fight, i decided to do something stupid and use foul play when I was in range of a one shot, and he went for dragon dance, ensuring I k.o. so I think the ai just has some way of seeing when you should probably switch and choosing moves based on the assumption that you will switch (a free dragon dance from the switch would have helped him had I actually switched). Which is kinda clever actually.

You may already know this, but (for most generations, I'm not sure if for all) if the highest damage move won't KO, the AI will go for a random move. You mentioned guessing that they will go for a weird / not super effective move during switches for low HP pokemon, which is where that comes from. IIRC there are a few weird interactions with weather / items, so don't bank a run on a youtube comment haha.
Excadrill is one of the most low-key busted Pokemon they ever made. sure, it dies to a lot, but it's so fast and strong that it can kill the majority of the things that would kill it if they ever got the chance. Fascinating how you kind of had to use suboptimal teams just because of the nature of this challenge. Carrying the monkeys all the way through is pretty funny, I never, NEVER had one on my team by the end. They're too frail and weak for my tastes. Also very interesting not to use a single Chargestone Cave Pokemon, but I guess that gives you a lot of options for B2/W2. Really hoping to see Ferroseed/Ferrothorn get play, it's actually kind of busted in game as a tank/physical sweeper. The trick is to use its low speed as a weapon, lowering it even further with Curse if you want to, then use Gyro Ball. The other two moves are Power Whip and Payback. It's an extremely nasty, unusual type of sweeper, because usually you want to be faster, but Ferrothorn is Ferrothorn. They had to leave it out of Scarlet/Violet because it was too powerful, clearly. would also like to see Joltik/Galvantula as they're personal favorites, but you might not want to have two bug types, as I noticed you avoided both Sewaddle and Venipede. God, Scolipede is awesome. Also worth noting, in B2/W2 you may be able to get a Minccino with Skill Link. Even a Technician one is kind of busted though, highly recommend, they're better than you'd expect. A Cinccino is actually the Pokemon I got to the highest level of any Pokemon through natural leveling up outside of a few Pokemon I grinded up in Colosseum once. Ah, my beloved Paraguay.

Just a question since B2W2 introduce the ability to get Hidden Ability pokemon in game through Grotto's will you playthrough utilize those pokemon or do you plan to skip them altogether? I don't know about you but Skill Link Mincino is pretty busted when give King's Rock from the BP store
Do BW2 nuzlockes normally bother with grottos? I haven't seen any runs yet that use them, and I wonder if that's cause technically the hidden grotto is a "different map" you could classify it as a different encounter. and therefore have far too many encounters per route, unless you chose to do something weird and either: make grottos an option in replacement of the regular route encounter, or, do a run with only grotto encounters. If I had to guess, based off the anecdotal evidence/data of others I've watched, the likely guess is he'll ignore em, but who knows.
@@Akita23 the most common interpretation that I've seen for nuzlockes in BW2 is that you can get either a route encounter OR the Grotto encounter if it spawns a pokemon so you'd still have to encounter a pokemon grotto rather than an item grotto

We can’t ignore Emboars unmatched battle prowess
Just what I needed tonight!
I was 13 when these games came out and I played BW religiously. Having N and Hilda in the same game was my Bi awakening.
Ah yes, my first generation, in which I used one Haxourus to solo everything until it got one shot by Cynthia’s Garchomp, starting me on my pokémon binge to find out who the blonde boss woman that beat my poor lvl 100 ax dragon was, thus making me want to play platinum to beat get revenge for my favorite mon and igniting my now decade long pokémon journey. ahh nostalgia…
47:46 yes! Someone else who agrees with me
48:49 yes! The best nickname! Brings me back to 2011
Take a drink every time CM says “gem boosted”
One of my most favorite black & white fighting type pokemon is Mienshao
Love the series but laughed at. “I don’t like setup sweeps, kinda boring” **Set up sweeps Cynthia**

The AI isn’t cheating and reading inputs. If you’re low enough on health that it spots multiple kills, it goes for a random move.
@@Akita23 I propose that he should get ONE grotto encounter, not counted for that route, but for all grottos.
Took the Snivvy and named it Smugleaf. If you know you know. A fellow brother in arms appreciating the majesty of Smuglord.
