Fairy type has low def, and it only resists 1 stage, with boosts from dragon dances and moxies, they can be one shotted as wel.
Ofc he is not, since he did half of job, he didnt go Elite 4 second wave when they are lvl 70+ and fight Champion Alder. He just played dumb and played thru easy mode.
Mienshao with max speed and attack, with fake out, acrobatics, u-turn and one fighting move (HJ kick, but drain punch is safer), is absolutely a BEAST. If you include regenerator in there, there's a free switch with recovering. Gen5 fighting pokemon are the best
I'm so excited to see Conkeldurr being used!! I used one on my very first ever playthrough of black, and she's remained in my heart ever since- shoutout to my girl Helga
I actually found out myself as well in a run of Black 2 that the pickup ability (gen V onwards) in battle if the user is not holding an item and the opponent uses a held consumable item it will pick it up. Actually caused me to lose a run lol Edited : changed to held consumable item my bad
I actually found a shiny Sawk in the rustling grass on route 10 when grinding Audinos. I had to do a double take because its shiny is so similar to its regular colors.
8:57 In bulbapedia, there are two columns. One is the unrepeatable method to get something and the other is the repeatable method (held items) You have confused between both of them. You could have had it earlier....
Nothing beats Silph when he’s describing a move. “And then we hit them with a charcoal-boosted, 4 times effective, stab flamethrower, with Sunny Day for the instant KO”.
I trained a Mienshao on my first playthrough of White version way back in the day, and I've been obsessed with it ever since. It is a pain to get to evolve, but once you get it, the Drain Punch + Acrobatics combo is amazing!
@11:34 If Watchog went for Retaliate instead of Crunch, which is what the AI usually does, you would have lost another run right there. You’ve had some crazy luck on these Nuzlockes at times!!
Before fairies were a thing, the only pokemon that resists its stab combination is heracross and it gets ohko'd by ice punch, thanks to its great bulk it can survive strong neutral hits and set up dragon dances to kill whatever's in front of it with drain punch and heal back to full, it also has shed skin to heal off annoying status conditions that might prevent it from sweeping or moxie to make his attacks a lot more devastating Tldr: scrafty's a freaking beast
9:20 You could try just going with a repel to shaking grass to get the other fighting type, which would make sure you could have both Throh and Sawk as well as Timburr :)
I feel like most gen 5 content I see is B2W2 focused (mainly Black2 for what that means) so I enjoy seeing BW content as I prefer those over their sequels.
@@georgethakur Hard mode gives better AI to major fights, gives them extra pokemon/moves, and later fights have a full set of held items. All trainers have around 1-3 higher level pokes as well. If you are doing a challenge run, it is night and day with the difficulty.
You would've been fine against Archeops if you didn't crit there, I believe you would've done enough damage to proc Defeatist and survived his retaliation. Barring his own crit, of course.
For future reference in this gen Burn and Poison do the same amount of damage so you can get your Pokémon Poisoned for Guts as well off wild mons. Poisoning attacks are typically more common and have higher chances to activate so just something to think about it.
The pick up ability does use any consumable items used while the Pokémon in battle another useless tip is if you have seeded Pokémon you can swap to a grass type and it will remove the seeds

The first column says “finite methods” while the second column says “repeatable methods.” What that effectively means is that the item can appear on the Wild Pokémon listed independent of location in the game. I'm pretty sure you can actually thief Expert Belt from Sawk and Throh in the main game, as I did exactly that in my Pokemon Black Hardcore Nuzlocke. The post game area is just where you can find it in an item
5:26 Pickup has the ability to pickup any one-time use items that the opponent used during that turn, granted they have no item themselves. So when you're oran berry activated the lillipup was able to get an oran berry in the same turn. I didn't even know about this until recently because it's such a rare interaction.

I do love the Challenge Rock Easter egg. You can go back each day and use your mon’s to chip some items off it. Wish more world building stuff like this happened across these games.
Two tips: Outside Pinwhell forest, the best option is try to find a Sawk/Throh in the shaking grass instead Timburr. Then caught a Timburr in the Cold Storage. Then caught a Sawk/Throh on Route 18. This way, we will have 4 pokémon before Clay and a complete team before Iris/Drayden.

This has come up in a couple vids I think, but Defense curl doesn’t have to be used IMMEDIATELY before rollout for double damage, it just has to be used before without switching out
Fun thing to note about rollout is that you don’t have to use defense curl right before it, you can defense curl and use another ability and then rollout. It only keeps track if you have actually used defense curl at some point while being out in the field.
Silph I can’t begin to express how much I enjoy your nuzlockes. Everything from your soothing voice, the lighthearted humor and clever strategizing really makes for great content. Actually, I would have to say you’re my favorite! Happy early Valentine’s!
I’d like to see a Heartgold Ground type Nuzlocke. I recently attempted (and failed) one and it was challenging to say the least, but I had fun strategizing the limited encounters.

For 24:32, MIESHA actually did get the double boost from Payback, as Payback gets powered up if the target already moved that turn. It isn't quite like Revenge or Avalanche which require you to take prior damage from the target.
@@ItsFireTiger I think this move is often confused with moves Revenge and Avalanche which have -4 priority and double if damage was taken. Payback works a bit differently. Unlike Revenge/Avalanche, Payback does not have reduced priority and is not dependent on taking damage. Instead, Payback is based solely on if your Pokémon is attacking a Pokémon that moved before it Of course, yes, technically both Payback and Revenge/Avalanche will double in damage if your Pokémon attacks a Pokémon that already damaged it in the same turn. But the reasons are different! Payback doubled because the user moved second and Revenge/Avalanche doubled because the user actually took direct damage.
Think Payback like a Fisheous Rend but instead of doubling if you attack first, it doubles if you attack last. Revenge/Avalanche, on the other hand, are like Counter. However. instead of dealing double the damage you take, you deal double the damage you were going to give. Of course, both end up being fairly weak moves if you do not satisfy their (different) requirements.
gen 5 is my favourite gen so i would love to see more vids in this gen, also maybe you could try a colourlocke soon where you only use certain coloured pokemon according to serebii or pokemon db
PickUp also picks up and, if possible, immediately re-uses items that were used up in battle like berries. The challenge rock allows for you to get one rather expensive item that can be sold at shops once a day as long as you have a fighting type on the team.
really late comment and maybe its already been mentioned buuut. after gen 5, pickup not only picks up items after battle, if you use an item (like a berry) the item will be "picked up" by the pokemon with said ability.

12:49 Quick explanation why German has these long words: In German compound words are written without a space between the different parts of the word e.g. "school bus" is "Schulbus" in German. This just leads to some words at first appearing really long even though they are just shorter words put together ("Führerscheinprüfung" means "drivers license test", "Führerschein" = "drivers license" and "Prüfung" = "test")

Isn't the Mono Type Nuzlocke the same as Gym Leader challenge cause they all have type specific (Not counting Blue or the Diamond/Pearl Pokedex on certain Gym Leaders and Elite 4)
Catching that Timburr outside Nacrene could have been easily avoided, because there’s actually 5% chance of finding a Throh and 5% chance of finding a Sawk in the rustling grass there. They are the only two encounters beside Audino, so with enough patience you are guaranteed to get one of the two.
I ran a regular Nuzlocke with a Konkeldurr I named Mur'dore (my pokemon where named after D&D characters from me and my friends. Mur'dore was one of mine.) It was an adamant nature with sheer force and it dominated the dark elite for member as well as Getsis' Hydregon

I really Miss your old Gym leader challenges, i never miss one episode, its very sad people didnt appreciate it! Hope you will do it again in the future!
Isn't the Mono Type Nuzlocke the same as Gym Leader challenge cause they all have type specific (Not counting Blue or the Diamond/Pearl Pokedex on certain Gym Leaders and Elite 4)
26:15 can you feel it mr krabs?
Catching that Timburr outside Nacrene could have been easily avoided, because there’s actually 5% chance of finding a Throh and 5% chance of finding a Sawk in the rustling grass there. They are the only two encounters beside Audino, so with enough patience you are guaranteed to get one of the two.
Haven’t finished the vid yet, praying that he names the Sawk Adesanya
Damn

Führerscheinprüfung ist ein handelsübliches Wort.

Why would you activate Guts with a burn?
Burn cuts your Attack and Guts raises it back up. I’d imagine that if you got any sort of boost out of that, it would be minimal.
