Yes, it is. I do hope she will correct the mis-information provided. Everyone is human and can make mistakes. This video to me is not good because with the very first use- it takes several pumps for the product to come out. This was demonstrated in the video.
Agame 0.1 30 ml is 20 $. Even if Agame was made in 0.2% they would increase the price to $30. So it would approximate cost the same if you buy 2 bottles of ordinary 0.2. May be 2 or 3 $ more or less.
I would suggest trying Geek & Gorgeous A Game before trying this. They have a 0.05 and a 0.1% formula. So 1/4 the strength and 1/2 the strength. Though I don’t see myself buying this because adapalene 0.1% is so affordable and I stocked up on Black Friday
This is very strong at 0.2%! Twice the G&G A-Game which is 0.1%! It is not a beginner product! Unless you are using tretinoin, start with a 0.05% like G&G A-Game 5. Retinal is usually less irritating than retinol, but about 10 times as strong. Even if you are using retinol, start low and move up. The only other 0.2% retinal I found online is Medik8 Crystal Retinal 20 which is $120.00 for 30ml. Even if you buy two 15ml tubes of Retinal 0.2% Emulsion from The Ordinary it will only come to about $30.00 for the same 30 ml. Wash hands after using so you don’t accidentally transfer to the eye area, I touched my brow bone area and two weeks later the skin there is still healing.
I'm one of the only individuals on the planet who actually doesn't like Geek and Gorgeous A game. I am enjoying this!! What can I say...I do well with The Ordinary! 😊😅
You're definitely not alone with the G&G ...not for any specifics, just that my face was like "wottevs" 🤷🏼 - it bought absolutely nothing to the party(and I used it for a good 4-5 months) . I've been including this(T.O)** in my routine for a month or so,& i really like the formula ...but my best results have been from using a combi of the Dr Different Vitaacnal Tx Night cream and the Scinic Cicanoid Retinal Cream . ~~~~ ** This T.O. Retinal is definitely *not* for beginners - it's for advanced users only
As many others are saying this is twice the strength of G&G 10 as well as Naturium 1% which I love. K-Secret Seoul 1988 is also 2%. I think it is a better deal than The Ordinary because you get over an ounce of product.
the geek and gorgouse is almost 60 dollars to ship to canada and a much reduced strength..you really missed the mark on this review, denat, alcohol will not dry your skin becuase you should judge the formula as a whole, and cruelty free, cosmetics are no longer tested on animals in china.
If that works for you keep with it, but is absolutely NOT stronger than this. In case anyone else is reading your comment, I don't want them to be confused. Adapalene doesn’t need to convert into retinoic acid to impact the skin, but it likely only influences two of the three retinoic acid receptors. It acts on receptors beta and gamma, but not on the alpha receptor. It's approved as an over-the-counter drug for acne, thanks to its ability to clear and prevent clogged pores, but there isn’t as much data on whether it can help with other skin concerns like pigmentation or fine lines. It still may be perfect for someone who's only concerns are acne related, but if that is not your target, then you are better off looking for a retinoid.
@@TryMyMartini To each thei own, for sure. However, the mechanism of action of retinoids that lead to reduction of fine lines/wrinkles is still not fully understood, and it is not clear that activation of all types of receptors are needed. There have been some studies showing that adapalene IS effective at improving fine lines and wrinkles. It just isn't as heavily studied for this as some other retinoids. And when I specifically asked dermatologist UA-camr Dr. Sam Ellis whether she thinks the 0.2% retial emulsion or 0.1% adapalene is stronger, she answered that she considers the adapalene to be stronger. As a 50yo guy, I can say for sure that adapalene has improved my fine lines, texture, etc. certainly better than the retinol I was using beforehand.
I’ve used tretinoin now for years and will say I didn’t notice a single result til month 9 or 10. I would think it would take at minimum 6 months to notice?
Love your reviews your skin looks wonderful I’ve been using tretinoin derm said mix with couple drops warm water as I have rosacea works perfectly hey Sarah stay in our country the way things are today ❤️
i never noticed the gluten free on skincare products, but i wonder if they haven't put it on this one because of the oats in it? in any case, i think I'm going to stick with my G&G a game. I've been using it for at least a couple years now and it's been working great for me. i didn't even experience any irritation when i moved up in strength despite having very sensitive skin. I've seen several dermatologists here on youtube say that stronger doesn't necessarily mean better when it comes to retinoids, so i will be giving this one a pass for now. perhaps later on i will feel like i need more and I'll try it then since it's twice as powerful as the G&G, but for now, I'm good. besides, the ordinary's is more expensive, you get half the product for a similar price.
How long have you tested this? I know with first use- it takes several pumps before the product first comes out. Which is what you demonstrated in this video. It did take seversl pumps before the product came out. After that, it comes out easily. This ordinary retinal is 0.2%. The A game 10 is 0.1%. This is a stronger retinal than the one you said was better and stronger. 0.2 % is stronger than 0.1%. Which for first use would not be the oridinary as it is stronger. Please put the correct information in your video.
I ordered asap when made it to Sephora. I find it mild ..I was using the retinol 1% Good molecules $8 tube every other night -could easily do ea night as it’s mild but I do see results in smoothness -it needs nothing on top.
@@NOBSBeauty Hey, it might be a good idea to pin a comment here that lets people know that you had it backwards in this video, just so people don't make a wrong choice. This is DOUBLE the strength of the Geek and Gorgeous A game! People should start with that one, and then move up to The Ordinary if they are looking for a stronger retinoid. I don't know if you addressed this in a later video, but for people who come across this video, they might be confused and start with a product that is too strong for them!
I've always wanted to know how these retinal/retinols compared to OTC 0.01% adapalene. My understanding is they are a fraction of the efficacy, because it takes less to convert to retinoic acid & it's light and air stable, vs the rest, that are not. 😔 40g adapalene tube is pretty cheap compared to all the latest (less effective?) retinal/ol/ic formulations.
Eventually I have decided to unsubscribe this channel after going radio silence on admitting making a mistake on the potency of this product. We all make mistake and a simple acknowledgment and cite the correct information is good enough in this case. One day I hope Ryan Murphy does a season of Feud based on the Deciem story.: Brandon takes on the skin care industry status quo. I wouldn't miss an episode of that. Loved that Deciem video you did by the way.
They sell it in 15ml because it is highly unstable. But anyway, I pay 14€ for 30ml of tretinoin, which is much more stable. Why would I buy this product twice as expensive and that stains the bed linen ? Getting a prescription is not that difficult. Once again The Ordinary is off the mark. (And yes Sarah got a bit confused between 0.2%, 0.02%, 0.1% and 0.05% 😅)
I’m pretty sure this is DOUBLE the strength of a game 10.
Yes it is!
Yes, double the strength. Sadly, half the size.

Since this is actually stronger than the Geek and Gorgeous retinal I think The Ordinary one has its competitive edge even though it is more expensive
This is double the strength of A Game 10, and 4x stronger than A Game 5

Sorry Sarah. This is double the strength of the geek and gorgeous A Game 10 which I guess explains the price. 😮
This ordinary retinal is stronger than the G&G agame. A-game 10 is a 0.1% retinaldehyde while this one by the ordinary is 2x that at 0.2%.
as mentioned bellow, this is double the strength of the geek and gorgeous 10 (their strongest)
this is equivalent to the Medik 8 20
yeah does she think that the geek and gorgeous is 1% retinal? the geek and gorgeous lines are 0.05 and 0.1, this is stronger at 0.2.

K-Secret is 2 % Liposome Retinal which is the same as 0.02 % pure Retinal. So the one from TO is 10 times stronger.
@@kristinjohansson9031 That is not accurate. Liposomal delivery systems make the ingredient penetrate more deeply, they do not dilute it.

But the geek and gorgeous is not stronger….. it’s half the strength of The Ordinary. I enjoy both of them but honestly I’ve been loving my Altreno.
That eye look is stunning on you! Something about the cool/warm mix really brings out the color. Looks glamorous
I'll stick with OTC adapalene. I believe it's stronger than even the .2% retinal and cheaper.
