Defiantly black plates from sony.. nearly bought the D Brand then all the shenanigans began and they removed them. Don’t like the new design with the fan cut out

I just picked up the newer camo colorway to match my controller. Dope as hell, really dig the sound. Glad I checked this video though, I didn't know that you could adjust the EQ prior to this. Playing Dead Space really sounds better with these than my 9.1 surround sound system.

Great review, I stayed till the end :) I really wanted to hear your thoughts on the 3D audio. Is it worth it for wireless 3D audio? I have the Gold headset from PS4 days. I'm tired of having to use the wire to access 3D audio. Sony need to make it accessible to all headsets without the wire.
Always find your videos very informative. I just got the midnight black headphones and this will be very helpful in setting them up.

The dualsense mic was a nice surprise actually, it was a lot better than expected.
Sounds good here but if you are using tv audio the game audio will replay through the mic and echo for players your playing with

I finally got hold of a PS5 last week and absolutely blown away with the graphics so far. My wife has just treated me to the 3D Pulse headset and can’t wait for it to arrive. Great video and just subbed.

Awesome video explaining the Pulse 3D Headset. I just got my PS5 last week. I am most likely going to get myself a pair. Do you know if you can use more than one pair at the same time? One wired and one wireless?
PS5 Headset! I bought mine a couple of months after the console, and still use it almost daily. The quality is holding up well, and the cups haven't started cracking yet. With the EQ software addition, it's really an amazing and worthwhile set. Nice video, the black does look amazing aswell, especially seeing the video you made about the Black and Red Console Covers

The mic on the Pulse 3D seems to work better in small rooms. I've noticed that on different test videos the sound quality was vastly different and wondered why, but then I noticed that most of the ones where the sound was good were recorded in small game rooms with a lot of clutter/stuff on the walls, furniture and so on. The mic/s really pick up tons of reverberation and general background noize from the room. The accustics of the room seem to be what is giving the tincan effect in some videos. It's a bit odd as I though it had a noise cancelling mic.
Have you tried to lower and rise the volum level of the mic on the ps5 menu? Does it help?
or maybe don't use the mic altogether and use the mic on the dualsense instead? i think the mic on dualsense is even better than the mic on the pulse 3d

I mean yeah there's still going to be situations it makes sense but the mic is half the basic function of it.

I think your voice sounded great with the wireless test. The way you described it beforehand, I was expecting you to sound distant and muffled but it didn't sound bad (to me) at all.

For $99, the Pulse 3D are a superb set of wireless headphones with full support for 3D audio (all will support PS 3D audio when wired to controller, not so many do the same wirelessly). The one drawback, lack of punch, was addressed with the software update adding the EQ, and that really opened them up.
FWIW: Despite demonstrating the mic performance as a negative in comparison to your standard headset, I actially thought the Pulse sounded better.

You're right, plugging them into the back makes more sense if they are always being used. Thank you too.
Plugging it in the back may cause overheating issues unless you use an extension cable to move it away from the fans.

@Silver Fox I have the Sony platinum headset and it too has a USB dongle that gets incredibly hot. I was considering upgrading to the 3d pulse before I found out it uses a USB dongle too.
Maybe because when you use the transmitter on the back USB ports, the PS5 is exhausting all of its hot air right onto the transmitter, causing it to overheat. That guys knows what he is talking about. Get a USB extension cable if you want to use the transmitter on the back USB ports.
I play the Series X but I’m constantly watching everything you post. Doesn’t matter if it’s PS5. The videos are so clean!

I was very surprised how loud and how good they really are with the EQ settings so don't be put off by buying them there are decent pair of headphones and it good for the price

I'm trying to decide between this two and sound quality is a top tier issue for me (I'm still using the Gold Wireless for PS4. Is there any major upgrade over this model?)

@@SpawnPoiint Do you still have to manually switch output audio in PS5 settings each time you're using or stop using the SteelSeries 7P or it has been fixed and it's now automatically, like Pulse 3D?
I picked up the Arctis 7P+ from the Steelseries website. Basically the same but it now has USB-C charging and a slightly longer 30 hour battery compared to the original 7P

I didn't know it existed either. I have the regular 7p. Good to know it's great for someone looking for headset but not necessary for me to upgrade.

Sounds to me like the 7P’s have some kind of low cut / high frequency boost EQ built into the mic. Human voice sits in these higher frequency registers which could help with speech clarity especially with high whiny voices. The pulse mic sounds to be more full range as far as the frequency’s it is picking up. The full range mic should be more accurate for all voice types, Where the 7P’s may be better for those with high voices. Some mics have baked in EQ for certain voice types. Both sounded fine to me.

Your reviews are great not sure if to get this headset or the Steel Series Arctic’s 7P+ not to bothered about the Mic on either and I don’t have a PC Or Laptop to adjust the settings on them but I like the idea you can now adjust the equaliser on these direct from the PS5
I own these and they are pretty good, I agree with most of the comments but would like to add one of my own, for gamers over 50 yrs the small buttons and writing are too small, I normally play with lights down low so can’t see these buttons well at all thank goodness the adjustment is shown on the screen(I used these on the PS4 for a while,which meant switching lights on and grabbing reading glasses to adjust)
How long has it lasted you?

@@alb.4089 they state 12 hours but I’d say longer if you’ve not not it very loud all the time and yes it works with the Pc and PS4

PS5 Headsets - Have been running the Pulse 3D for about 2 weeks with mixed results. Initially there was a big echo that I, as well as other party members, could hear constantly. It seemed to work for a bit, but now it's a 50/50 as to whether or not I'll be able to hear the other party members clearly or if there will be a lot of dub stepping (possibly ISP related). I do really enjoy the wireless feature though, and can't for the life of me understand why Sony don't build the Bluetooth adapter into the unit... I mean a dongle? In 2022?
Maybe to expand upon who can use it, I know my PC and PS4 require a dongle. Not positive though!
I believe it the latency of Bluetooth so the dongle it connects with has a lower latency than normal wireless headphones

You dont even need that to get 3-D Audio, you can also use the Rig 500 that has Dolby Atmos
This should be called something else. The real OG pulse vibrate. They even had a slider on the side of the earcups to adjust strength of vibration from explosions etc. To this day they still work and I use them on the PS3 with the PS3 3D TV and the 3D glasses still work. Great video

Been watching a lot of your videos lately but this is the first to come out while I've been subscribed! I found these headphones quite uncomfortable on my ears when I first got them last year, but its not something I notice so much these days. Maybe I've just got used to it or they've warped a little to fit me better

I have the white version. I really like how seamless they connect to the PS5. The features and updates straight from Sony are another win. Sorry 3rd party products, I don't see a big need in this generation. Just waiting to get that ps5 back button now

@@SpawnPoiint Please! Waiting for that one!! I've read in some reviews that the color black (dark scenes or scenarios) is not very good. And also if you can share how did you get it would be great as it's a bit difficult to find stock.
The Dongle works in either of the rear USB ports at the back also, you don't need to have it in the front, I personally have it in the back USB port so it's out of the way
you get more range if its in the front, I have noticed with mine.

How do the Pulse 3D's compare to the Astro A20 Gen 2's now that the Pulse has the adjustable EQ and presets? I know you preferred the A20's before, but that was before they released the EQ settings. Are they comparable now or do you still prefer the A20's?

Platinum sound better. They have better speakers and the 3D audio is the same. Platinum are more expensive, though.

@@khalilamaz8592 I use custom eq settings for mine. The stock eq presets suck except for bass boost. But that one doesn't work well for CoD though.

My concern with these is the mic sound. Multiple games I've been in, the other players say they can barely hear me. With there not being an extended mic that goes in front of your mouth, this has been an issue so far using these. I mainly got them for multiplayer/chat and that's been it's biggest struggle so far. Any thoughts to correct this?

Dude okay your using the headphones wrong. Listen to like any of your favorite songs or if you don't have one listen to something like twenty eight by the weeknd, crank the volume all the way to the max and just listen man

PS5 Headset. I really love mine. Use mine mainly for compatibility 3D audio games such as Rachet and Clank. I love that new color tho. Wish I had waited.

The only downside with this headset is it gets kinda uncomfortable after about a few hours because of pressure especially for those who wear glasses and second, no boom mic in which Sony should think about implementing if they ever decide to create a new headset
Same for me mate so I have revered back to my old Sony gold that for long hours of gaming are the bollox.

It’s worth noting for aesthetics that you can plug the dongle into the back of the PS5 instead and they still work perfectly

It'd be nice if the Pulse had Bluetooth to use it wirelessly with a mobile phone or smart TV and I wish they did a charging base/stand for it. I also dont like the buttons on the side as it's hard to tell which button does what while wearing it but it's a decent headset for around £80.
I wonder why they didn’t have bluetooth built in….
Personally, I'm not a fan of this headset, but I do have to say that at 100 dollars, it's an amazing value for what you get and the compatibility.

One thing that wasn’t talked much about was how incredibly uncomfortable these headphones are after 30 min I felt like my ears were on fire I should have returned them but thought they would loosen up after a while, nope after a year still uncomfortable. I even bought a after market set of ear ups and that didn’t help much , they are just way to tight. The sound quality was great but I’m no expert in that field.
Yea same bro. These headsets are so uncomfortable for me. I bought replacement ear cups which was a pain putting on and it was still so uncomfortable. This is probably my worst purchase ever.
Not to mention the hard ass plastic on the inside

The faux leather on the ear cushions have started breaking off already. This is incredibly annoying as getting a replacement ear pad is hit or miss (especially in my country) - I've used my headphones sparingly, yet this happened.
However, these are incredible headphones otherwise and perfect for ps5
Ahh I was wondering if that happens cause it happens with many of my other headphones and headsets :/ I’m probably not gonna buy them now as my bose have been pealing after 3 years
This headset sounds great but could sound better. I found the ear muffs to be very uncomfortable for any timeframe exceeding 2 hours and just wasnt a fan of the feel overall. If you have a bigger head i would avoid buying them. I returned mine within the warenty period and went with the steel series pro + gamedac. Waiting on Astro to release A50s for the PS5

The difference in mic quality wired vs wireless is massive. Like wired it sounds really good, but wireless sounds absolutely horrible and cheap.

I'd say they are on par with the A20s, but the 7Ps are still better sound.

I'm back with my Sony Gold headphones 🎧, that are still going strong after 7 year ( bar a couple of ear cup changes ) still can't find a headset that beats whese for comfort on a 53 years old head.
