I bought one of these yesterday to replace an aging Galaxy Tab A7. So far I am quite happy - the full browser and keyboard are nice and the OLED is amazing.
nice!
I'm very close to getting one for myself 😅
I've had one since it launched, and it the device I grab the most other than my phone. The screen is fantastic with the OLED screen and the aspect ratio is perfect for media consumption. I hope Lenovo keeps making them, because I think they're the only company making chromebook tablets.
I was sitting on a bus and had the Duet 5 on my lap when the bus accelerated. The top separated from the keyboard, flew out, bounced on the floor and the screen was cracked. I wished they made bumpers instead of the silly coverstand.
The Duet 3 (2 in 1), its detachable keyboard is its Stand out feature, the way the magnetic keyboard snaps back on is cool. I really like the fibre covers on the external surfaces. I'm waiting on the Duet 3 with Mediatek CPU thats meant to be out end of this year. This is a modern classic.
I'm holding off for an updated one as well.
I love mine, i just wish it had backlight keyboard and proper bluetooth. Also lags sometimes.
for the price, nothing comes close. been using this one for a year now couldn't be happier (again, for the price). the only thing is to make sure you get the 8GB RAM model, as I think there might be a variant with less RAM
I bought a model with 4GB. And it was a mistake. It's not enough.
@@daklhs6460even the 8gb is underwhelming. This series needs a new update and it would perfectly pass all thresholds
The keyboard is decent, but it shines as a tablet. The screen is very readable and the tablet on its own is light and comfortable to hold in either portrait or landscape.
Good for travel or commute. Of course the fact that it is quirky Chromebook and mostly tied to the Internet with poor App selection is its Achille's heel.
I absolutely love this 2 in 1 laptop for watching movies and doing quick non work related tasks like.....shopping lmao
Emmc memory in 2024? Nope, it's not 😊 still pricey where I live anyway so not for me. Thanks for the video.
Memory disk doesn’t really matter since Chrome Os is cloud computing…
Thousands and thousands of laptops and tablets use EMMC and work perfectly fine, it all depends on what you're using it for.
Perfect for media consumption.
I BOUGHT THE REALME PAD 2 INSTEAD REDMI PAD SE🥳 THE 11.5INCH DISPLAY IS AMAZING I LOVE IT!🎉
Nice video 👍🏻
I got the windows version. Don't kill me, all I do is web stuff like gdrive and email
What kind of pen did you use of it
My Experience so far:
ChromeOS has a simple and effective Usability. But the App Support is not that good compared to Android/Windows. Afaik there are is still no native M365 Office App Support on ChromeOS(?), which is really a pity cause the Duet 5 would be very useful for such Apps, like OneNote, Word, Excel, Powerpoint Stuff etc.
I only got the smaller Version 128/4, the Performance/Multitasking is very sleekish.
Not sure why. Sometimes it won't even wake up properly, totally random.
Only a Reboot helps out then. Tried resetting the Device several times.
No Change of the Behavior, which sets in after a few Weeks of Usage.
The Keyboard Cover still works very nicely. Typing on it is far superior to many other Covers in the price range. Considering i juste paid on a Weekly Deal something around 250€.
The Screen is still amazing of course, especially for watching Scifi Stuff or basically anything with high Contrast, Dark Scenes, HDR etc.
I will probably sell it now anyways. Had to buy a proper Windows Laptop (Yoga 7)
Which works just really well and has also a nice OLED Screen. Not comparable pricewise of course...
oh wow thank u so much for this honest comment. I was gonna buy this, the 4gb model but ended up going with OnePlus Pad since I bought their latest flagship phone. I still can't move on from the 13 inch OLED but I think my purchase is justified since I got a way more powerful tablet with 144hz display
also u can't use MS softwares on it? wow! It's essential for office work/school
The Screen is a very big Pro for the Duet 5.
Altough for me personally it is too grainy to work with it every Day. I got an 14" 2.8k Screen now, Windows Convertible.
I couldn't decide either for a few Months now if i should sell it or not. Got it at the best Sale Price anyway. But i will probably keep it for now, cause for my GF some rudimentary Apps like Webmeetings and Media Stuff is still enough and we will use it then as secondary Device.
The SoC (no matter if with 4GB or 8GB RAM) is just not powerful enough anymore, it was already very old, when it launched. So i would not at all recommended it as a Main Tablet or Device for any Daily Usage. @@notyourbusiness1352
Yes. I hoped Google/Microsoft would finally Support native MS365 Apps but so far nothing changed. Some MS Apps work, most Office Apps don't. Maybe a classical Conflict of Interest, cause Google wants you to use their Office Apps of course...@@notyourbusiness1352
@@notyourbusiness1352it’s a Chromebook, designed to use web apps. Companies like MS are moving to cloud based applications (like office 365) which run perfectly well on a Chromebook. I recently checked with several of our area colleges, and all of them insisted on using only cloud based applications due to data security concerns. Windows are now really only necessary for more specialized applications.
My Asus 2 in 1 has better sound, a bigger screen, a bigger battery, a faster processor, and a lighted keyboard. I got an open box deal at Best Buy for $220. For most of us Chrommies game play is not a major consideration. The ability to use multiple monitors and multitasking with plenty of windows is far more important!
Yeah, I have the 11 inch duet 3 and was considering duet 5. But i also think i might be better off getting an asus 2 in 1 laptop. I will still have a windows laptop too but these tablet 2 in 1s are not powerful and keyboard magnets break. Hard call
What's the model name please? I'm looking around for options.
Got my Duet 5 (8/128) at Best Buy as an Open Box Excellent for $270 two years ago and have been completely happy with it.
Is the performance slow?
Probably closer to just average in my opinion
Is it possible to use the keyboard when the 2 are not physically connected so I can put the screen up high?
No as the keyboard doesn’t have a battery in it. It powers up being attached to the tablet
Pls do tab s9 worth it in 2024
Do you know if I can sideload apps through apk files?
yes
My work Mac laptop has better speakers honestly 😂
