    This has always been a very compelling product because it has OLED, desktop version of Chrome, keyboard included etc ... But it's strange they haven't refreshed it in 3 years. My best guess is it has something to do with Snapdragon closing their production of chips from Chromebooks. We'll see.

      I just wonder if these have sold a lot. A tablet is perfect for my use cases but almost everyone seems to want a laptop.

    I own Duet 3. It cost same amount as entry level ryzen5 notebook(365€). I decided for duet mainly because it of its flexibility. Art/design(with stylus), Gaming(with Gforcenow), Office work, Internet browsing, note taking in class... etc. I never regreted it. One thing that does suck is the low performance. You are not able to run some apps, mainly 3D ones that I need to use(Solidworks, Autocad...windows edition) but there are many online alternatives like Onshape. The best thing about it is the small form factor. I can carry it with me everywhere and the battery is extremely good too. The OS is nice to work with but sometimes I get lost in the settings tab. I love it. Are there better choices for the price? Yes. Do I regret buying it? No

    Great for the basics. Especially when it costs less than a magic keyboard or the mew surface keyboard.

    I'm so tempted to purchase another one, but then I have a surface go which is working fine (for now) 🤷‍♂️

      I would hold off. It's been 3 years, and there should be, hopefully, some exciting news coming up on the Chromebook front soon. Very soon

      @@AndroidDigestyeah, Lenovo was onto a winner across original and the duet 3 so let's hope they can pull it off again!

    Currently using the Duet 5, I'm thinking to upgrade but no idea to what, I'm thinking a macbook, tab s9 or wait till later in the year if anything interesting gets announced

    why didnt they just make it into a clamshell instead of the silly kickstand/surface form factor..

      You mean Lenovo? What operating system? Edit: oh I see it, it's Android. Not Chrome OS but it does look really interesting. I would probably prefer Android over Chrome OS .. although the support for Chrome OS was like probably 8 years long ago, then Lenovo Android tablets.

    the Duet 3,,, is the duet 5,,, but without a huge oled display,,,, fewer pixels, to move might mean the Duet 3 is faster
    ... last longer on its batteries ... cheaper,,,,
    in all other aspects they are the same

    • @michaelcorcoran8768
      @michaelcorcoran8768 3 місяці тому +2

      But you can get an 8 GB ram version of duet 5. At least in my country, I don't think I've ever seen a skew with 8 GB of RAM the 11-in version. I really don't think The larger screen would cause it to be any slower. If anything, it would help the battery life because OLED is more of a battery efficient. That said, you can make a compelling argument that 13 in is bigger than it should be for a tablet, I just don't know if that's a good enough reason to endure for gigabytes less of RAM.
      Especially when the price is practically identical.

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  3 місяці тому

      Yeah technically there is an 8GB version of the Duet 3, pretty sure at least. I've seen it somewhere lol. A couple of inches on the screen wouldn't really make anything slower either, I agree with you. I do think there are some extra Duet 5 benefits, but I like the Duet 3 too.

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  3 місяці тому

      I get what you're saying overall. I think the screen does look good, and there is a use case for it. But I think the battery life is pretty similar. You are right, the main benefit of the Duet 5 is simply the OLED and the bigger keyboard size, BUT some people might prefer the Duet 3 for other reasons.

    Android supports webs apps! I am getting more confident in saying most people may not even need a desktop OS. I use one still for browsing but my tablet does a fantastic job for just about everything anyhow!

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  3 місяці тому

      Yes, but to my knowledge you can't create a web app from ANY website. You can install a web app, like X for example, because it has an "install" button in google chrome, but on a website without that? To my knowledge you can't create a web shortcut, unless it's just a shortcut on your desktop, vs on Chrome OS ANY website can be turned into an app and hang out with your other apps.

  • @JimHesnan

    I am on my second one. The screen durability is very questionable. The kickstand is not sturdy enough for me at all. Overall it's a great screen really good battery life. Speakers are very weak unfortunately. Performance and screen for the money is the value. It would be a home run if it had a sturdier detachable keyboard and stand like the iPad aftermarket keyboard are.

    As much as I love this tablet, it's due for a refresh. I'm still waiting for its alleged successor with next-gen MediaTek Chromebook chipset. Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 really starts to show its age, especially when it's essentially a desktop version of Snapdragon 720G/730/730G/732G mobile chipset.
