Really enjoyed playing this when it came out and was struck by the fact that even though there was a ton of visuals bombarding me because the focus was on hack&slashing in the mech I didn't feel as lost under it all as you can feel in other games that lack a direct anchor inside the action.
Yeah I see how that could happen, a couple of times I found it a little difficult but since your character is roughly in the middle of the screen all the time i didn't end up finding it too bad
i would have loved to get the option to get different mechs also , like getting resources to create entirely new mech , bigger, more durable, more bad ass looking and we could change the color
Oh heck yeah. I've been playing riftbreaker off and on since it's public release, and it's fun, like really fun. The devs have been constantly improving the game, adding new features, bug fixes, etc, etc. It's definitely worth a buy, glade you managed to get a sponsorship on it, zade

Originally played the demo during one of the steam events, instantly knew it was one to keep an eye on. Luckily I was exactly right. Though next time I play I'll have to do it on a higher difficulty, my first go was a bit too easy once everything was built
Sweet, did not know there was a demo for it, definitely checking it out. +1 to the guys who said this should have coop though. Think I'll have to wait for a ray tracing capable card before committing though!
The Riftbreaker is fantastic! Played the demo during Steam Fest ages ago and got it day 1, but sadly a bug (that apparently others also got) on a certain mission had a... hostile plant infinitely reproduce and the mission wouldn't count as complete unless I killed every last bit of them. Tried for hours, never succeeding and despite keeping 5 save files I couldn't go back far enough to undo the bug, as it happened every single time I progressed through that specific mission. Gave up in the end, but I want to pick up the game sometime in the future, even tho I'd have to start from the very beginning of the campaign again. Such a good and unique game, though!
Frankly, coming from your retrospectives I almost didn't click on his video because of its generic title. Now, having watched your detailed and great review, I gotta check out this games demo!
Soo, not yet checked the vid, packed this on my Steam Whislist and working on my backlog in the mean time. Initial semi-blind expectetion: Oversiplified it's a Supreme Commander + Valheim epic mashup. Am I off the mark or right?
The game looks really nice, but it looks difficult. I tend to get frustrated if I build up a base and the aliens tear it down. I'm one of those Factorio guys that turns the bugs off...LOL Maybe I'll give the demo a try, since there is a demo. Nice video, good job of explaining it to me.
Haven't played Riftbreaker, but V Rising seems sort of similar. It's sort of action, base building, survival, but with multiplayer. Excited to see what the evolution from War3 is looking like in today's PC gaming space! It's like less units and more diablo with a twist of Sims/minecraft thrown in.
The story is very unethical , but then again, we are doing the same thing right now here on earth. What do you think will happen if we would go into space and find a resource rich planet. Look what we do here and that is what we do there. We´re way to agressive and greedy to go into space. This a side, I love the gameplay.
Resources exist to be utilized. Extracting them is not unethical. Now if it effected sentient beings with our level of reasoning and consciousness then sure that would be unethical. But mindless alien hordes are a different story.
Hah thanks, honestly it didn't work out quite as well as I'd hoped but I had already recorded the script and had to have the video done lol. Still, gets the point across
Did they end up improving the campaign since release? I don't quite know how to judge this review since when I played it initially, it was cool to see, but mostly empty. Which is why the Survival was so much better for me.
I tried this on demo and just couldn't get into it. It was like a much slower Factorio and the tower defense elements were just blah to me. I mean that's just me, but I'm always on the lookout for a new RTS.
This game is awesome, but they changed the way upgrading buildings work and it's so stupid. The game no longer show new energy requirements when upgrading. Sigh.
SKIP THIS GAME FOR NOW. At least on consoles the game gets corrupted save files ALL THE TIME. Lost all my saves multiple times. As the game currently is it is 100%trash corupted data ruins this game. Too bad cause its a cool game
That's too bad to hear. I put only about 10-12 hours on console without issues. I preferred PC though (becuase of controls) and didn't experience save issues there.
What a coincidence " oh I forgot about a game " later on " want money to play our game? " " oooooh now i remember ". You re starting suck more and more. Friggin money

Ah, no wonder this looks kinda familiar to me, i just realized the developer also made X-morph defense.
Well, i guess it's time to buy this one.
This realization is made very clear in the Metal Terror DLC lol

Me too! I've been quite enjoying it and glad you have too!
i love it, i finsh it in two days and i cant wait for the coop and DLC for it!
Me too, gonna be WILD
Wait is coop confirmed?
Looks like the love child of Factorio and Helldivers and you can't go wrong with either of those games.
Obsessed with The Riftbreaker. Most fun I've had in a game in years .
Glad to hear you're enjoying it!
been playing this recently and it's damn good fun, would love to play with friends though
f*** it mini review:
this game is awesome 7/10 and i have only come across a hand full of issues
-tech tree
the tech tree if massive and tbh was spooky AF looking at it for the first time
-multiplayer
i cant play with my friends... yet. i am looking forwards to that update now more than any other game on the horizon
-hud cutoff
as i am playing on the xbox one and streaming through the cloud gaming i seem to be having a few issues not sure if this one is one of the platform specific ones
-clunky (platform)
the game is rly fun but the base building can be rather faddily if you are not playing on pc or somehow using keyboard and mouse
-crashes (platform)
i am 100% sure that this is a platform issue as both times the game has a hiccup on me it has been down to Microsoft's "cloud gaming" that i am using as i dont have access to this game on pc or an xbox series console
up sides this game is AWESOME and hella fun to play
-enemies
the enemies variety is massive i can think of a bunch of memorable monsters i have killed and i am no where near seeing all of them
-weapons
holy crap the weapons are awesome turning hordes to mulch with machine guns, incinerating so many you would make Torchstar blush, having to vary up your arsenal for enemies with resistances. and the impact when you kill stuff... if it dont look awesome i dont understand the words
-action
there is constantly somewhere to go/something to kill and places to expand, this game gives time to build your base but also has swaths of monsters to kill if your not doing that right now
-content
this game starts of small with a few things to build and kill to get yourself a foothold, but then progresses at your own pace to Ludacris heights
-visuals
and while your killing monsters and rebuilding the base they destroyed you have jaw dropping scenery, wildlife, effects and buildings to look at just looking even more beautiful while your behind a gun or a mech sword mowing a bunch of it down
-customization
given you are able to build weapons and customise other powerups your mech has this game can rly make your mech feel like its your mech as there are sooo many setups to chose from
-ways to play
having played the prologue; a little dive into see some later equipment as well as a small dive into the campaign and seeing just this video from zade, i can say my base looks nothing like his and my mech has different weapons setups so there are more than just one way to setup your base, mech and any other powerups and toys you may find later
over all this game is like a breath of fresh air and just a wonder to play, when they add multiplayer and your not streaming it like the dipshit i am go play this game as i struggle to think of a world where its not 9/10

I found the opposite, probably because I'm bad, but this game owned me more than a few times :P
Deal breaker for me is it's only singleplayer :/ . My friends like Helldivers and Factorio and we play rts so this woulda been a good combo game.
The coop will be arriving soon enough.
they stated that coop would be arriving near the and of the fourth quarter but with the delay maybe not till first quarter 2023
Hopefully co op isn't far away, imagine if it went up to 4 players.... 😱
SupCom ACU meets a Zerg infested world
couldn't be more correct
Are you saying the character inside the mech is Karrigen?
I've been playing the hell out of this one, kidna shocked I was playing it first :P Gotta watch those conferences for the hidden gems!
Yeah absolutely! Non-AAA carrying gaming right now tbh
it's utterly ridiculous in the best possible way - how funny it sounds when ozzy and kiwis say words like best :D peace and love
lol.... i know :P kiwi accents, gotta love em
Such a great Game, also the predecessor X Morph Defense.
Imagine a Supreme Commander Remake with this engine!
YO
I would love to see a supreme commander remake, i'm obsessed with that game for a long long time.
The second I saw this I was reminded of X-Morph Defense (another similar game), turns out these games both had the save devs.
Sweet, did not know there was a demo for it, definitely checking it out. +1 to the guys who said this should have coop though. Think I'll have to wait for a ray tracing capable card before committing though!
I remember when I was playing it I hit a nest a got more than 100 enemies and 5 bosses which I killed with the grey weapons
2:25 The genre you describe for this game can make a good Wi-Fi password........in reverse for extra security 😂.
VERY LONG
I whizzed right through the game when I bought it at launch. Great fun, waiting for the MP update to come.
If you are not playing this game with the Dualsense controller on PC, you don't know what you are missing!

I need to check it out. The demo did however filter me at the end.
I’m waiting for the promised co op for this game.

@@Zade_95 I actually did try it out last night and enjoyed it. When I get some extra $, I might get the full version.
I've been sinking hours into it with Xbox cloud gaming, it's really fun for me

@@Zade_95 it's the only way I can play it, I'd love it if it had a full release I'd buy it

This game looks like it gets the chaos of a bug/alien horde down better than the new Starship Troopers RTS. Shame there is no multiplayer though.
Yeah, it absolutely does. Co-op soon, hopefully? :D
I've really enjoyed this game so much!
oof... 10 hours? Did you get to Titanium or did you only play survival? I don't think I saw any weapons outside of the starter ones.
Just played survival basically :)

Definitely getting this on my ps5
this would be a pretty cozy couch game i reckon
Loved this game. I'm glad it came to game pass, else I would've missed it completely.
Yeah me too!
Looks a little like we are billions the zombie game on Steam

is there multiplayer?
one military camp?
Awesome game but waiting for coop

Ooooo this one looks noice!
It catches the eye, that's for sure!
I think you may have forgotten to write and pin the pinned comment you mention twice in the video
Hah thanks, yeah I can't do it before it goes live and I set my videos to release at 3am local time. Just woke up so doing it as we speak😅
Not worth the full price on steam in my opinion

No. It is it´s own thing.
Well, after 150h I can say only... awful. Factorio already did everything better.
And yeah, it is a "Smoker's" Factorio, with lame rudimental futures.
It took you one hundred and fifty hours to decide it was awful? I'd hate to see how many hours it'd take to decide if it was a game you like! 😅
