Just to let you know the plant with the coins isn't an easter egg. It is a hint toward a special creature you can become. If you become the creature you spit out coins which leads to the plant growing. You then get a moon out of it.
I also found a zelda ocarina of time easter egg. When you go into the tree in the deep woods the 3 treasure chests depict the 3 deku scrubs that you have to kill at a certain order i believe its the same order you open the treasure chests lol
You can actually get a moon from that flower sprout in the Deep Woods. I think those submerged coins are more of a clue to shoot the sprout with coins using the money bag enemy thing nearby rather than as a suggestion that someone/thing got eaten. Be warned, though, it takes quite a bit of your coins to fully grow the sprout and get the moon. (And to be fair, it took me quite a while to make the connection between the submerged coins and the nearby "enemy" but I knew that sprout had to do something)

This game is full of awesome easter eggs and nostalgic references, It's a joy to play with. I just wish they included a remake of the Bob-omb battlefield with it's 8 original stars as art of the mushroom kingdom, I would have died of nostalgia.
I just got this game for Christmas in 2022 and I'm absolutely in love with it. I cant wait till I unlock the mushroom kingdom! The amount of nostalgia that oozes from this game is overwhelming... Its a 10/10 all day.

There is hidden pixel art luigi in the game, they gives loads if coins when found. You can play rock paper scisors with mario when he collects a moon (theses poses are also a reference to past Mario 3D games: 64, Sunshine and galaxy)

6:20 that scarecrow reminds me from Super Mario RPG Legend of the Seven Stars, Where if you turn into a scarecrow you do the exact same pose with the hand facing downward and has a circular stand at the bottom. This game is FULL of easter eggs and references to past Mario games, specially SM64. Another one is when you enter the paintings hidden through the Mushroom Kingdom (which in itself is another reference) to rematch the bosses, it plays the same jingle as in 64. It only lacks Mario saying "let's-a go!". Also one of my favorite references was when capturing Bowser, how it shows flashbacks of all previous battles with him in past games. The attention to detail in this game makes me incredibly happy.

I think I know why people are loving this game so much. With an excellent blend of things old and new, it has that ability to cater to tons of video game players. If I get around to owning a switch, this will be a definite pick up.

It's probably one of the most dumbest moons in the game because it's so random and it takes absolutely forever to do, you need like 500 coins to get the moon.
Just a correction/clarification for the way Peach is dressed in Bower's kingdom. She's not wearing a kimono, she's wearing a yukata. This isn't simply splitting hairs, as her getup is summer festival themed, which is a time when Japanese people wear yukata (which, being made of thin cotton are more suited to summer than a thick kimono!) making the yukata an important symbol of summer festivals. Completing the summer festival look is her fan (again, summer) but her "headpiece" is actually a mask. At summer festivals, there are many stalls that sell cheap plastic masks of various popular characters. When you're tired of wearing it on your face, you can simply slide it to the side to get it out of the way, which is what Peach has done here.
A little secret in nighttime new donk city is that if you parkour onto the rooftops and go into areas that are sectioned off during that first mission, nintendo actually put pipes on the backside of the blockade walls to get you back on track
There's a fun reference to Mario Galaxy in the pause menu. If you press pause, press up and select options, select choose mode and then back out of choose mode all in quick succession, you'll hear the comet observatory theme.
The Bowser Kingdom sticker is also seemingly based on Hanafuda cards, which is what Nintendo started making way back when it was founded, and there were also Mario hanafuda cards on Club Nintendo at one point.

Hey, the coins around a recently dropped seed isnt a secret, its a clue. In the deep woods you can find a hidden coin coffer, when you become him it will allow you to shoot coins by pressing y. If you walk over to the sprout and shoot coins at it, it will begin to grow, ending with a moon on top.

I'm loving this game so far. Took me 2 days to complete the story mode lmao. Love these but have seen some before.
It's an awesome game and like yourself i couldn't put the controller down, hardly slept during the first weekend.
I only played it a few hours per day 'cause parental controls.
It took me 3 days to complete story mode including dark and darker sides

It's probably one of the most dumbest moons in the game because it's so random and it takes absolutely forever to do, you need like 500 coins to get the moon.

Just a correction/clarification for the way Peach is dressed in Bower's kingdom. She's not wearing a kimono, she's wearing a yukata. This isn't simply splitting hairs, as her getup is summer festival themed, which is a time when Japanese people wear yukata (which, being made of thin cotton are more suited to summer than a thick kimono!) making the yukata an important symbol of summer festivals. Completing the summer festival look is her fan (again, summer) but her "headpiece" is actually a mask. At summer festivals, there are many stalls that sell cheap plastic masks of various popular characters. When you're tired of wearing it on your face, you can simply slide it to the side to get it out of the way, which is what Peach has done here.
A little secret in nighttime new donk city is that if you parkour onto the rooftops and go into areas that are sectioned off during that first mission, nintendo actually put pipes on the backside of the blockade walls to get you back on track
There's a fun reference to Mario Galaxy in the pause menu. If you press pause, press up and select options, select choose mode and then back out of choose mode all in quick succession, you'll hear the comet observatory theme.
The Bowser Kingdom sticker is also seemingly based on Hanafuda cards, which is what Nintendo started making way back when it was founded, and there were also Mario hanafuda cards on Club Nintendo at one point.

Mario Easter eggs are the best childhood game Easter eggs :). Especially Super Mario 64 that was my favorite game out of the series :).

Hey, the coins around a recently dropped seed isnt a secret, its a clue. In the deep woods you can find a hidden coin coffer, when you become him it will allow you to shoot coins by pressing y. If you walk over to the sprout and shoot coins at it, it will begin to grow, ending with a moon on top.
