    SD most of my instructors told us this at WyoTech!!!
    All straight six engines from all manufactures use the same firing order because they all are a 120 degree design of crankshaft.
    1, 5, 3, 6, 2, 4, just remember 15, 36, 24 like this and the same goes for dating women (15 - too young, 36 - too old, 24 - just right)!!!
    They told us this the 4 strokes of IC engines are easy to remember because these are the favorite things guys want from women (Suck, Squeeze, Bang, Blow) intake, compression, power, exhaust!!!

    I was using an Autel DS708 that I bought a few years ago on Craigslist for $250. It worked well but I just recently picked up a used Autel MS906BT. It is a FANTASTIC tool and does everything you teach. It's available brand new for ~$1300. it was not quite a year old and still under valid subscription. I paid $900 used on Facebook Marketplace and the guy included a 4 channel scope and another year of updates. It doesn't come with any wiring diagrams or any service info, of course. Maybe you've looked at it but, to me, it fits your cost vs capability requirements.

    Looks like a decent scan tool and made in the U.S.A. Hard to find information: Renewal subscription is $750/year. Enhanced subscription is additional $399/year. Or when combining subscriptions; $1,150/year. Zoro is listing tool price as $1,569.61. Other dealers a bit more. Thanks Scanner Danner for the tool intro. Keep these videos coming.

    Launch x431 pro s mini is a great scan tool for someone looking for an affordable full function scan tool with bidirectional controls. It’s an impressive little tool. You can find them for around $700-$800. The Bosch ADS 525X VCI Is J2534 compliant so you could flash program with it.

  • @ralfsautomotive
    @ralfsautomotive 3 роки тому +1

    I have the ADS625 and use it mainly as a paperweight. Bosch should give me the money back in my opinion. The J-Box takes forever to connect and the tool is also slow. Don't even get me started on the communication range, if I step in the office it is game over! and I have a tiny Shop. I got it brand new and have only used it a handful of times in the 7 months I owned it.
    My Autel MaxiSys Elite got a great range and lots of functions but I am not a fan of their "Garbage" anymore as everything breaks down although I do not abuse it and keep it in a climate-controlled environment. I cannot get myself to like the x-431 pad 2 either it works but seems sluggish. I hate to admit but most often I find myself using the edge.

    Good video
    Real good stuff
    When the air gap contacts get corroded through
    Time and use quite a lot of HT power is lost could be up to 6 KV normally with a
    Sound system about 3 KV
    Is lost, then plug lead with age deteriorate, more lose
    In HT currant.
    Seeing the state of the.plugs it's a wonder, that the Jeep started, might be a diff story if the temp was minus 20.
    I have found through the years and l am 96 now, that
    Badly corroded dis cap
    Contacts will give a lot of reduced performance, on engine rpm under load,
    Flat spot also on accel ration and also contributes
    to bad starting.
    Back in the 60s. it was quite
    common for dis caps to crack and also HT, tracking
    Inside the cap, they were, made out of Bakerlite a poor type.of plastic, it was
    Cheap to make.
    Even some car dash boards
    Were made out of the stuff,
    And when it aged the plastic
    used to crack with temp
    Change.
    Some people in days.gone past would carry a spare cap in the trunk, and other things in case of breakdown.
    Other wise it's a long walk
    back to Cairo.

    Thinking to myself: "What the he** does he mean by 'indexing' plugs?"
    As I understand it, it the direction the GROUND electrode is facing?
    Holy craziness!
    And yeah Paul, I cover the checking gaps on my videos whenever I run into it. The parts guys always tell me they're pre-gapped, but stuff happens that knocks them out a bit. AND it has caused me to catch a MIS-BOXED plug! NEVER assume ANYTHING, unless you like getting "burned".
    Once again Paul, nice video!

    • @ScannerDanner
      @ScannerDanner  3 роки тому +2

      Exactly, the open face of the plug or where the negative electrode ends up sitting once it is threaded into the head. And that BMW Mario worked on has some af ratio swirl, that that plug needs to be directed directly into, for proper firing. It's something along those lines anyway. I think this was a GDI engine too? Mario?

    Hi Paul, I follow you a quite a bit, and I recently took a ASE test for electrical, there was a question that stuck in my head and I was wondering if you could help. the question was mechanic a says The Wider The Wire is ,the better it is, B says the longer the wire the better it is. That is pretty much word to word I did go with A ,what's your . thought. I would like to know or is there any videos that you have posted related to the subject?. thank you

    • @ScannerDanner
      @ScannerDanner  3 роки тому +2

      What a dumb question. Lol
      Just remember that the longer the wire is, the more resistance it will have, and the "wider" the wire is, the less resistance it will have due to having more copper conductors.
      As far as the term "better" goes, that is subjective right? If I need to run a fuel pump that is 7 ft away and I have a choice between a fat 3 ft wire and a thinner 7 ft wire, what am I picking 😆

      @@davidfleckenstein6359 the key when you watch me troubleshoot these cars, is to learn the techniques I'm showing, and then modify the tests to fit the equipment you have. For example. You won't have Bidirectional controls with the bluedriver but if you understand the output circuit being tested, you'll understand that you just simply need to meet the conditions for the computer to turn that circuit on. You won't have a way to force it like I do, but it can still be done, using the same techniques with your voltmeter or test light. Hope that makes sense.
      You'll just need to work a little harder 😉
