I have to tell you this [and I always forget to write it] : I admire you [totally] for installing everything in a way that it may be moved / removed if needed! It's so much work, so much thinking , it's really something amazing!
I can only say that you're doing awesome job!
PS - I envy those people who'll be able to go there and see you and your project 😉 Sadly it's way to far for me, but I hope you'll have fun 😊

Lol yes it was a ton more work to do it that way, but to me honest it has saved me so much frustration. I can't imagine trying to get back behind the Captains Quarters to get those lights in without being able to pull everything out. Thank you so much for your support and encouraging words in these final week so finish it all up!😊

@@BentleyHouseMinis This is something I should learn, because for most of my projects everything is glued [however... for dioramas it's not a bad solution hehe, worse will be for doll houses for sure] 😅
Yes, definitley. For huge projects like this, better to spend some extra time for planing and creating space for all of the wires than to regret something later.
I'm sure you'll handle everything and you'll have lots of fun later [watching people enjoying your work, will be rewarding!] 🤩 Personally I'd love to see this project at my own eyes, but I can't , so... I'll wait for more videos, maybe a relation from museum itself?

The lights make everything so much more real (and as someone who's terrified of working with them, my admiration for you knows no bounds: you faced your fear and conquered it, go, Ara!).
I can't help but think that there should be at least one clipboard somewhere, for a "pre-flight" or maintenance checklist the Captain must go through every so often.
This project keeps surprising and delighting me.
Thank you for sharing your thought processes with us.

You got this :D. I researched like crazy just to add a few LEDs and found out a few things. 1- Go with 5v strips versus 12v. It ended up requiring more than I expected. 2- If you're doing a lot of LEDs, it will draw more power than you think. I was thinking I could go off AA batteries... nope. For 7.5 meters, I needed a full on power brick. UA-cam and discord/ reddit are your friends with this. UA-cam for general knowledge, discord/ reddit to ask actual people to make sure you're not going to blow anything up with the setup

Mr. Technology makes his debut! 🤗 But my favorite part of your miniature world is seeing all the progress you have made and how far you have come from the abandoned coffee shop (which I'm pretty sure was the first project I watched on your channel) to this Grand Master Piece.😍🫶🏽

Ok so the biggest thing I really do NOT want to tackle is lighting. I have my very own Mr. Technology, and he has been very very helpful in that area. The problem is that he is also an insanely busy person, so I have to wait on his time table. It would behoove me to learn how to do it myself, but I just haven't crossed that point (of no return?! lol). You couldn't see me, but when we got to the point of the video where you were lighting up the lanterns, I was actually APPLAUDING YOU!!!! I was probably not the only one!! Well done, Ara! You conquered that beast!! And you did it during a time crunch, which absolutely deserves MORE kudos!!! You are almost there.... you are almost there!!! Just look at how close the line is on your chart- only a tiny bit more to go! (I know it doesn't feel that way). SO CLOSE!! We are all ROOTING FOR YOU!!! I wish I could be there in Tucson, but its just too far. I will celebrate with you in SPIRIT!!! 😍🥰❤💜😻

      @BentleyHouseMinis  8 місяців тому +1

Thank you so much Kat! My Mr. Tech is pretty busy too so I try to work around his time schedule and spread out things. For example I ask him to help me order what we need one night, and then when it arrives I ask him what night he can help me figure things out and I try to have a map or plan of where everything needs to go before he walks in to help me. That's just the way we do it so I can get the help I need and I don't feel like I am overwhelming him after his own work day. Being able to just solder wires together will be so helpful in the future because I do think that takes up the most time! I know you can do it too!! Thank you for celebrating with me in spirit!

The console is just outstanding!! Love the screens lit up. Sounds like the wiring was time consuming (maybe a little frustrating?) - but it was DEFINITELY worth it. And the little critters/space plants in the windows at the side just makes me smile every time you show it. Do you plan the wiring and all when you planned the project or is that something you work out when larger pieces are ready to go in? I would think it might be pretty impossible to do it too far ahead of time. Your perseverance on it is admirable. I love the little details on the console too - the maps - the notes - adds that delight to the discovery of that area. I thought I liked Beetlejuice more but this one is too fun!!

I love the nod to FOTN! My boys loved that movie when they were little. It's crazy to think how long ago that was. My oldest son turned 46 today. YIKES! LOL
I would love to go to the museum next month! I just have to figure out how far it is and how long it will take. Then I'd have to try and figure out how to let you know. Didn't quite get what you said to do. But I'll get it. Anyway, I'm enjoying your build. And it was great to see your Mr. Technology! Made me smile.

Thank you Mary! I am always up for learning a new skill and this was one that has been on my to-learn list for a while! If you are able to make it out to the museum on the Nov 6th date, you just need to email me so I can get you on the list. So glad the video made you smile!😊

Wow! The lighting looks amazing! Soldering can seem scary at first, but once you get the hang of it, a whole new world of possibilities opens up. I used to solder/assemble PCB’s for a living years ago, but have recently decided to get back into soldering for some of my future miniature projects, so I ordered a soldering kit and am looking forward to getting back into it.

Wow. It just keeps getting better! The compartments absolutely remind me of Flight of the Navigator! Such a cool detail and the items inside look so cool too. I love all the additions and the lighting is spectacular! I’m so proud of you for tackling the electrical parts! I also have a fear/frustration with wiring! You made it look easy!!!!!

Thank you! You have just solved a "problem" I've been having with using magnets in my journals. Pin nails. They will save magnets and give the books a better look. 🤩
😍 I'm loving this build and the concept is brilliant. You are so meticulous in how you do things and you have to figure out the best way to do those things as well. Brilliant.😃
    😊You wondered...
Ferrule... it's pronounced two ways (British and American). 🙃 You were saying it the British way (Fer-rool) and the American way is Feh·ruhl (like feral).

Darn were not going to be in Phoenix AZ until February/March but I’m hoping that my husband and I can go see the miniature museum in Tuson AZ to see the Captain’s quarters, there. We are going for a month from Feb.15th-Mar.15th 2024. I would love to go but and meet you, Ara, it would be my pleasure. I think you’re going to be very popular with museums in the future. Keep up the good work.🤗
