Fantastic job, watching this reminds me why I have a stack of these models unopened sitting in a closet, a whole lot of work to make it end up looking like it does on the outside of the box.
Amazing detail on this, very helpful for when I get to building the 18 stall house for my layout. I do hope you will share or sell the detail parts you used in this build.
@ScaleTrainStation That is an interesting situation. Luckily, I am not building mine on a helix, but rather in the center of a double mainline circling around it on a peninsula.
nice work, I really like the detail you added to the basic kit. I too would be interested in the "shop parts". I have a the same roundhouse and would like to detail the inside, though I'm having a hard time figuring out what kind of tools and machines were in the old roundhouses.
I just made general machine shop tools, nothing railroad specific. This link has information on what goes in a shop towards the end, a roundhouse would likely have somewhere between nothing and this level of tools in it, depending on the line and what else was in the vicinity. babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=wu.89089676290&seq=822
Sorry you had so much trouble with craft paint. Micro Mark makes some nice straining funnels that will take out the lumps that clog the airbrush. If that doesn't fix it, you might try thinning with a flow aid and medium. These will slow the drying time which can reduce buildup on the airbrush needle. Nice work on the roundhouse - the lighting is really well done.
how many inches deep is the roundhouse from the doors or front to the rear exterior wall so I can design my layout? Walthers footprints are different from the addition and modern roundhouse even on the side without the extended stall. But every video and photo I see shows the rear wall to doors the same length except the extended stall. One foot print shows 14” the other is 17 3/4 that is quite a diffference and I don’t know which one it is I even called Walthers and they cannot tell me.
External dimensions: Short side (without extension) 17 3/4" Long side (with extension) 20 5/16" width of front 6 3/4" Width of rear (without extension) 15 3/4"
Yes, resin. FDM is too difficult to get good details in. I'm waiting for someone to invent a variable nozzle FDM printer, then I can ditch the resin :)
Nice build video. I especially like the effort you put into lighting it.
Thanks!
Very nice build! Excellent tips as I put mine together!
Thank you, I’m happy it helped!
Great job! Love the interior details you added!!

Production quality is stellar for such a small channel! Subscribed! Keep it up!
Wow I wish I had your talent! Awesome job!
Nice job on the roundhouse. Love the details. Best, John

Howdy from Tennessee Met on Nick's stream thanks for the Italy channel name suggestion!
Good luck!
Great job on the roundhouse, it came out really nice. I have subscribed, number 347, and look forward to your past and future videos.
Cool. I gotta do a thirty stall at some point, hahaha.
Ha! Can you even do that without building it on a helix? :)

Nice build. Would have like to have seen the lights on at dusk or night to see the effect.

Great video, would you be able to share the 3D files for detail shop parts?
Great video and nice work! I've subbed
Thanks for the sub!
Great build! Will you be offering up any of your 3d detail pieces (files) on any of the stl sites (thingiverse, cults 3d, or your own site)?
Friking NICE !!!!!!

Were your printed details resin?
