Is the top roof the floor deck of the ship? If so, in addition to hanging lanterns, you could put in , I Don't know the right name, deck prisms? They look like glass pyramids but the flat side would face the deck and during the day they gather light and disperse it below deck. But then you'd need lights above them and it wouldn't help with your lower level.
Why not a big Map on a wall? I'm not even in a ship and I wish I had big maps, of the world, different countries. Didn't they have in school geography class a wall mounted device with different maps you could Pull down like window shades? I'm older than you though. I used to have cool wrapping paper with antique looking maps on it, little ships and giant squids. If you could find something like that you could cut it up.

The idea for a Special Coat Rack for the coat is spot on perfect. It looks like it is some sort of a Dress Uniform coat. He would only wear it on special occasions.

The vlog style was awesome and engaging. It's great to switch things up now and then. The Captain's Quarters is looking amazing. Perhaps, to mirror the elegance of the Captain's tastes, the top finish on the chain could be a tiny jewel-toned tassel? Thank you for the "work with what you've got, fix it, and move on" approach. I think your tutorial style, whether live-stream, tutorial, or vlog-style gives the viewers (me, at least) a "See? You can do this and it'll be okay" confidence that overcomes frustration and brain-freeze. This is just wonderful. I can't say enough happy things about this and all the other project journeys you've invited us to share.

Oh I love the tassel idea! Thank you so much my friend💖💖 I have definitely had my own frustrating and overwhelming moments! I just find it a much more enjoyable art form if I let things go and move on... otherwise nothing would ever get finished! lol ;)

Wonderfully done! Spot on, vlog concept! I like this concept when you are working on big projects like this vs. when you are doing individual pieces on your desk. I may steal this idea and do it on some of my own ones later on.
Suggestion for the chains ... Take the one at the Top of the staircase and have it stretch across to the bookcase so that it can be unhooked with a small "Do Not Enter" sign hanging in the middle.
What about having a Curtain that can be drawn across the "Trophy Room" to isolate it from the rest of the bottom level? Just a thought!
Thank you for the "shout out" regarding the chair!
Have a better day ... as I always say!

This format is a nice change from a tutorial - and it IS the best way for you to "cram" a large amount of little jobs into a cohesive episode. Informal and a bit more personal, it is still educational and informative as well as entertaining. I enjoyed it immensely..........

In real life things don’t always match up and that is especially true in miniatures! Creative fixes are always appropriate and it doesn’t mean you are a bad artist! You deal with it very well and make it work which is the goal to creating a really good and accurate miniature! Love the vlog format as it shows the true creative process!

The wonderful coat, to display it on a stand is a great idea, the ribbon held it together through the arms so that it looked as if the captain was in it, instead of the ribbon maybe use fishing line or invisible crafting & jewelry thread to do the same thing when you hang it up on its wooden valet.

I enjoyed this style of video quite a lot! I would try to use a bit of alumaweld or liquid metal to "glue" the chains to the end of the poles where they should end. If you do not use that sort of thing you could just spot glue with a hot glue gun. I also LOVE that you show us how to work on your room when things do not go smoothly! Good luck and I look forward to more videos like this one!

I'm happy you liked them! I'm Lildragoncreations! :) They will have a much better home with you! Loved the vlog style, it's so much like we are all sitting in the room with you, just having a wonderful day. And thank you for showing the problem solving process. That helps us more than maybe you know!

I learn something from every style video that you do. This one was just as interesting as all the others. I love seeing the different styles of miniatures that you make.

Ara! I loved this blog. It shows your thought process and how you would fix an imperfection. I thought I was the only one who ended up with uneven cuts when building. This was fun I enjoyed it. Would love to see more. Captains quarters is looking amazing. 😉😉😉😍😍😍

I am so impressed with the vlog! I think every once in awhile they would be perfect, but I am so fond of your tutorials I would miss them so much. And the captain's quarters is such an amazing and unique project! Can't wait to see what's next!

I think stair railings made of rope are just tied in a big knot at the ends, maybe you could do that with the chain? Or, you could spiral wrap them down the two end posts.
If it ever needs to be replaced a knot would be easier.

Going to go make some coffee so that I can have mommy time and watch your video- yeah!
Busy making my first miniature book today ( actually my first ever miniature)....was wondering about my sanity while I was cutting these tiny pieces of paper.
My 4 year old was very excited about a book for her dolls...trying to explain to her this is mommies book. We might have a problem!

@@BentleyHouseMinis I'd use tooth picks to hold her together. Little holes and glue. Line up tooth picks the top and the bottom and poke them in until Sally is back together
