I think that Seven Bridges Road may be the most perfect Harmony in any song ever performed
Five part. Agreed. I also believe Jay is onto something special in the same manner with the Brothers Gibb aka BEEGEES.
You've got that right! Beautiful!
I reckon you are right!😀
BEE GEES
YES!!
There is no musical instrument on this earth as beautiful as the human voice in beautiful harmony.
All you have to say is, “The Eagles”, and there are no other words needed. They are the very definition of the word ‘sublime’.
Eagles*
I have always loved the Eagles!
I agree! I've always said that if I were stranded on an island, I'd want to have a complete collection of The Eagles!
Most talented band to ever form as measured by each individual Eagle’s abilities.
Bring back to rock and roll: more harmonies, not auto tunes and more saxophones! 👍🏻🥃
What a classic tune … mesmerizing harmonies!
All 5 Eagles singing a capella in 5 part harmony front and back, enter acoustic guitar picking in the middle.
Have seen The Eagles live twice, and both times they were absolutely perfect. You never heard a bad note vocally or instrumentally. "The Eagles are just one of the best" PERFECT. Thanks for doing this, Jayvee!
I saw them live in Atlanta in 2003 for their Farewell I Tour. Love the Eagles. Joe Walsh is among the greatest guitarists.
Saw them at the 1980 Texxas Jam at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, TX. After an incredibly hot and miserable day, the sun set, the breeze picked up, and The Eagles took the stage and performed at their best. It was the perfect night cap.
@@RobGamesOn Love me some Joe. Went to a Tom Petty 40th anniversary tour concert here in Tampa in May '17. Joe was a guest performer. Fantastic show. Sadly, Tom Petty left us in Oct '17. Guess I got lucky.
@@lblueheron4098 you're so lucky you got to see Tom Petty. I never got the chance.
I saw them live at the Budokan in Japan during their Long Run tour...First, they played The Long Run album, then their greatest hits, and finished the show with the best of Joe Walsh...
There’s probably not a single group of singers on this planet dead or alive that can touch the Eagles harmonies!
Beach Boys
Alice in Chains
Pentatonix? Home Free?
I will give you that they're really good, and I love The Eagles, but others harmonize well too.
Gaithers own the eagles
@@tedjones6476 Beat me to it. The Beach Boys are THE Gold Standard. That being said, the Eagles just kill it ala csn.
Their drummer is one of their main singers, Don Henley.
You got to do " Take it to the Limit" Live at the Capital center in 1977. Imo the best version of that song Randy Meissner dose an awesome job...
Love, love, love that performance! It's amazing to watch. Randy was so great and the other band members acknowledged it.
My favorite Eagles song... And Randy is my favorite Eagle! 😍
Completely agree! He CRUSHES the part at the end!
Me I speak for my second child who is well able of speaking for herself now but at the age of 18mths was singing this
Take It To The Limit was both beautiful and scary for Randy........ he had times where he would panic because the band knew the fans wanted that song & Randy knew he had to hit the high note at the end 😒🎙 .......and that was the beginning of the end for Randy. Take It is possibly my favorite Eagles song along with the other Take It ... Easy ✌😎
So glad you love The Eagles, they are one of the greatest bands ever!!!
Seven Bridges Road was written about a road in my hometown, Montgomery, AL
My favorite eagles song ever .
Been down that road ❤
This is so fantastic. So happy you are reacting to this. The Eagles were one of the best bands ever. But, their harmonies were second to none. This used to be their warm up backstage before a gig. Never hit an album until down the road. I have listened to this a million times and each time, I am blown away. Especially when I'm in the car and actually think I can sing 5 part harmony :)
The only album it was ever featured on outside of their greatest hits compilations was from Eagles Live from 1980. That's where this performance is from.
L Blue Heron They used to call it the Circle of Fear, or something like that. They used to circle up and warm up vocally to this song. They called it the Circle of Fear, because there was nowhere to hide anything within the group. The Eagles always had a massively high standard of performance and borderline unrealistic expectations of themselves. If they passed the Circle of Fear test before a gig, they knew it was going to be a good night.
In my top 10 Eagles songs. I fell in love with this 30 yrs ago❤
Their vocals have always been like this!!! #1 every time!!!
Listen to Crosby,Stills and Nash if you haven't already. Great harmony as well.
Stephen stills
@@TheGuitarMan71 Johnny's Garden
Crosby, Stills & Nash were trailblazers(performed @Woodstock 1969) with tight acapela vocals & just great song writing predating the Eagles. Eagles came on strong during the 70's-" Already Gone" mid 70's got alot of air time! Got to see CSN&Y live in concert! - Great time to be in high school experiencing some of the greatest music written & performed. Other concerts I saw live were: Pink Floyd 2x, Kansas 2x, 38 Special, Marshall Tucker Band, Jefferson Starship, Styx, Charlie Daniels Band, Renaissance to name a few.
@@mattboland5221 Joni Mitchell wrote the Woodstock song CS+N performed at Woodstock.
@@skyqueen1148 Its interesting when you find out who actually wrote the song/s
ones favorite bands performed. "7 Bridges Road " was originally wriiten by Steve Young RIP and has been performed by others. Not out of the ordinary for bands to do this. Another example would be: Carol King /composer/song writer who has written over 300 songs/ compositions that were picked up by other artists. It was once said that "imitation is the highest form of flattery"
Best of the 70's & 80's best group ever.
I love how you appreciate music in any form.
Listening to this in DTS on a 5.1 system is amazing. One voice per speaker, it’s like they are standing in a circle around you.
Now I must do this.
Eagles are the greatest American Band, consummate musicians. Next Eagles check out Already Gone or the Long Run.
They are considered one of the first Super Groups, and all members went on to successful solo careers...
Already Gone is my favorite song of theirs.
Eagles
Chicago
Aerosmith
The Holy Trinity of American bands
Knox Boyd I agree, though I’d replace Aerosmith with Kansas. Kansas has so many great albums in the 70’s and it’s unfortunate that they aren’t more popular. Check out Song For America, Masque, and Point of Know Return.
@@dash8too Sorry, Kansas is good have seen them a couple of times but they don't hold a candle to Aerosmith.
You should react to " Lyin' Eyes "
Havent heard this song in so long!! Forgot how great the harmonizing is!!
True musician's, no gadgets, no synthesizer's. Pure talent. They lived and breathed music.
Woodley road, my hometown. Hell yeah.
Seriously one of the greatest songs. Love watching your reactions and hearing your comments. No auto tune needed back then. Because we came up listening to this sort of perfection on a regular basis is why we older generations say we have a hard time getting into your generation’s music. I like a lot of it, but the auto tune is probably the worst thing ever invented.
Absolutely!!
AMEN!
When I hear that sound it’s Muzak to my ears, Whatta god-awful sound that auto tune makes.
Sounds like a barbershop quartet!!...🙂💥👍......no autotune needed!!!
The Eagles started as a country rock band . They are tight as a drum
I don’t know why but their music can tear my heart out
If you want a really long Eagles song.... Hotel California. Masterpiece with killer riffs by Don Felder and Joe Walsh.
"The Last Resort", clocking at 7:25, closes *Hotel California*.
Their Hell Freezes Over version is outstanding as well
@@RobGamesOn This was so great. Glad they got along on this one :) I saw Hell Freezes Over on Prime long after the cd was released. Thank you Rob for reminding my 70's chick brain of so many things.
The version of hotel California on the hell freezes over is even longer than the original, with a great guitar riff in the beginning!
I'm so grateful to have grown up in the 60's, 70's and 80's. The music is timeless. So many great bands, singers, and songs. Loved the Eagles...wore out my greatest hits album.
You should give yourself a treat and pick up the DVD Eagles Farewell 1 Tour-Melbourne Australia-Live 2005-Amazing harmonies, insightful lyrics, tight musical arrangements, incredible guitar riffs, their humor on stage, their added horn section, the solos, their pure musicianship and versatility playing multiple instruments. The audio and video are great. This includes the best version ever of Hotel California (trumpet intro). This is a master class on how to give a world-class concert.
Watch the, "History of the Eagles". Amazing footage of how they formed and the trials and turbulent times they faced. A must see! ☺
I've liked a lot of Eagals for years. But for some reason this has always been one of my top favorites.
There you. You got the Eagles. They are an iconic band, and they have so many hits. If you want tobreact to a dynamic song from the Eagles, most definitely check out "One Of These Nights", it is so awesome, one of my favorite songs from the Eagles and they have many hits.
If I was stranded on a deserted island, but somehow could listen to 2 bands for the rest of my life, I would be in heaven with the Eagles and ELO!!!
I had forgot this song but the moment I heard the harmonies I remembered it. The singers and bands back in the day had to be good because they were live, in those days you got what you paid for. I don't listen to the radio and haven't for years, there are some good singers and bands but all the machines that make them sound good to me is cheating and if its not real then I'm not interested. You always show us what you are feeling, its wonderful to watch Jayvee. Take care and stay safe please everyone, love and hugs to you all Mary-Ellen UK
One of their best and my favorite !!!!!!!!!
This is likely my favorite Eagles song, it just feels like home.
This song has been covered many times and they're all good. But just for reference I thought you might like to hear the original by the writer, Steve Young. He sings it solo, many of the covers are with harmony vocals. It's slower but it's still my favorite version. He was a pioneer of the country rock, Americana, and alternative country sounds, and also a vital force behind the "outlaw movement" that gave support to the careers of Waylon Jennings, Hank Williams, Jr. and more. The song has become a kind of country anthem and had been recorded by over 20 artists
hey Jayvee....haven't checked in for a while. Glad to hear your reaction to this. Written by some cat from Alabama named Steven Young. From what I've read it was about him and a girl he used to hang out with at, yes.....Seven Bridges Road....and he's still amazed so many love it. As for the Eagles singing on this piece: that's just what these guys do.
you're cool JV. keep it up.
I been listening to them off and on since 1977 and I'm 77 now
I love the Eagles! Plz listen to " I Can't Tell You Why"
Can you say 5-part harmony done flawlessly to perfection..............................I knew you could!
The Eagles are the ONLY band I've ever heard that sound the same live or recorded. I always like the recorded versions of songs better but with them its the same. I LOVE them so much!!!
They actually sound better live than in the studio!
My favorite band ever. They have so many hits. Anything by them is great. Try lyin eyes, new kid in town, take it to the limit, love will keep us alive, take it easy. I've seen them live 4 or 5 times lost count they're an amazing live band and the harmonizing is just outstanding
Ahhh! The good ol days. Good times when music was awesome and REAL.
They're actually the best man. They're perfection for me and listening to their songs feels like the same as the first time that i've heard their songs
If you like this, check out "Doolin Dalton" from their Desperado album. Also, if you like Hotel California, check out their amazing acoustic performance from their "Hell Freezes Over" live reunion album from 1994.
YES- on Hell Freezes Over.
They mixed it up by changing the intro and it took us by surprise with a flamenco flair- but killer too!
Every time I hear this song, I have to replay it. Once is never enough.
You'll never find a mediocre song by them. That's a rare thing. Mmm the picking in this one!!
Look at it this way you have Done Henley Glenn Frey Joe Walsh throw Timmy B in the mix and In my opinion you've got the best super group of all time
There isn’t a mediocre song from the Eagles.
This is one of my favorite Eagles songs... those harmonies take me to heaven! So glad to see a young person enjoying the music of my younger days. I appreciate all that you do on this channel!
Driving late at night on a country road and this comes on 👍
They are considered one of the first Super Groups, and all members went on to successful solo careers...
Have you listened to Joe Walsh..? Put on the headphones, crank it up and enjoy Rocky Mountain Way...
Or the Confessor!
You can take the "HOME FREE" version the everyone seems to be reacting to and flush it.....IT'S NOT THE SAME. PERIOD. Thumbs up just for doing a reaction video to the classic...NOT the rip off.
Eagles are known for their harmonies. After you work your way through their early works, all fabulous, listen to There's a Hole in the World Tonight. On 9/11, they were in New York to record. They, obviously, couldn't after the attack, and they wrote that song in a hotel in response to what had just happened.
My absolute favorite Eagles song. Supposedly they used this both before and during (beginning) of each concert to warm up and practice their harmonies. Cannot tell you how many times I have kept this on repeat and just listened to it over and over and over and....
Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, “Suite:Judy Blue Eyes”.
Vocal & compositional brilliance.
that sort of sound like the crosby, stills, nash and young type harmony from way back.
There were the kings of harmony. I want to swim in a pool filled with it.
Yeah not bad for a bunch of guys that started out as backup singers for Linda Ronstadt
they also backed up bob seger on fire lake
Don Henley was neighbors with Jackson Browne, who helped him write" take it easy"
Don Henley is a local East Texas fella. I've seen him at the Oil Palace twice... And worth every single note!
@@andrealoyola1766 ... Yes, he grew up in Linden, just up Hwy 59 from where I lived in Marshall!
They have had more HITS than You Can Guess...... Everybody, No Matter What Color You Are, Has Their Favorite EAGLES Song 3rd ALL TIME Selling Band In History Worldwide. [ it changes every year ]
I've seen The Eagles twice. They were Linda Ronstandt's band and then she set them free! They are incredible live, probably were telling best harmonies. RIP GLEN FREY 💞✌
Witchy Woman, One of These Nights, Take It To The Limit, Life In The Fast Lane, New Kid In Town, In The City, they have so many great classics. Thanks. Great reaction.
Yesss Eagles! Great harmonizing as usual. I will be seeing them in concert in February 2020 in Atlanta!!!! Cool reaction. Thanks!
Sonia Felita I'm seeing them in Atlanta too. The 11th. This will be my second time seeing them.
I had never really paid attention to the guitar duets in the bridge before..WOW
They are the best as far as I am concerned. I love all kinds of music but when I want to chill out I listen to the Eagles. Every one of them are so talented.
It gives me goosebumps every single time I hear it. I've always wondered who the guy was in the crowd that first yelled, Whoa! What an honor it would have been to see this particular concert and to know that you are part of a live album with the Eagles!
One of the greatest American rock bands ever!
My sister and brother in law got us tickets to see them in Charlotte. Vince Gill stood in and filled the harmony naturally.
I love your reactions. Please check out Linda Ronstadt. Her backup band went on to form the Eagles!
It was reported that the Eagles would spend hours in the studio perfecting their harmony. One of the best bands from the 70’s - a decade of unparalleled music!
By far the best 5 part harmony ever performed
I wish the ORIGINAL Seldom Scene had recorded this one.John Duffey's powerful high tenor and unusual mandolin styling would have been a thing to hear.
The Eagles are just The Eagles and that means impeccable. Next level bro.
They had the BEST harmonies!!! I found the original of this and it was really good, BUT The EAGLES out did it by MILES!!!!!!! I may be biased, they are my favorite band since 1971!!!
Not only is this a beautiful song to showcase harmonies, it's also lovely guitar work.
I love the Eagles. I can still remember riding to the beach in my mom’s blue camaro listening to her 8-track of the Eagles, I can still hear the intro to One of These Nights.
"Take it Easy" or "Peaceful Easy Feeling"
This is a really Great Song! Haven't listened to the Eagles in a while! Brings back the memories, thanks for that!
Eagles are my all time favorite band. 💖
Those Shoes is a song not many people request, but it's great.
The Eagles songs I hope you react to are Lying Eyes, Witchy Woman, Tequila Sunrise, and A New Kid In Town.
Yes..witchey woman is usually forgotten but its a fabulous song as are ALL if theie songs
@@kimmarievan-ever6599 The problem yet good thing about The Eagles is that they have so many great songs that people are bound to accidentally leave songs out when trying to list all of them.
I got that lump in my throat the first time I heard it too. Cried like a baby.
Please "Supertramp" The Logical Song or Take the long way home. Trust
Do "I can't tell you why" Beautiful song...Soulful and yes, it's The Eagles
You are right. Best harmony ever
Watch the Eagles documentary on Netflix. They used to warm up singing this backstage. They never recorded it, only did it live.
I used to sing this to my baby girl when she was fussy and she would ALWAYS immediately hush and listen, like she was mesmorized. Idk why, something about this is just soothing.
I sang this to my daughter, too. She grew up loving this song.
Beautiful!! Man this takes me back! 👍❤️
Talent, raw, God given pure talent 😉
Eagles just wrote so many great tunes mixing influences from so many genres of popular music: rock & roll, R&B, country, bluegrass, gospel, etc. Always satisfying, always unique, always Eagles.
G'day from Australia.
My favourite band The Angels (Angel City in USA) have inspired Guns & Roses, Nirvana and Soundgarden.
Their rockabilly style gets you going. May I suggest:
Eat City
Nothing To Win
After The Rain
No Exit
Talk About You
My Daddy, who passed a month ago, and my uncles have had a band since I was very little. They played a ton of Eagles songs, when they did this one though… it was perfect. The harmony on this song…. They always had it perfect. It is my favorite Eagles song, and now it will make me smile and cry and bring memories of my Dad. I am so happy that you appreciate this music. And how difficult it is.
This song is so good live. I have seen the Eagles twice in concert and they did this song both times.
They opened their concert with this. The a cappella hits you from nowhere. Chills.
This song has been in my: albums, 8-tracks, cassettes, dvd's and now...digitally.
I LOVE the Eagles!
The Eagles are one of the best ever. If not the best. Jay, glad you are in on them.
I envy anyone hearing this song for the first time! Another amazing song from one of the best songs of all time. Their harmonies are like liquid gold in your ears!
Also some really great picking in Seven Bridges Road.
Eagles are the best...one of my top five groups of all time. Golden throats!!!! Merry Christmas!!!! 🌲🥂🙏✝️❤️
I saw them in 2008, and it was the best concert I’ve seen. They’re a tight band.
