Why couldn't you just leave the previous implementation of Hardware Lighting. Why's this dumb system replaced the system that worked and was intuitive to users.

ICUE sucks... Save profile doesn't work constantly fighting with this program..
However as someone stated:
"Once you have the lighting setup like you want it. Select the program and immediately close and quit the program. Ensure that it’s not running in the background. This will make it where the lighting will be stuck in the state you configured it in."
worked 100% for me. I closed from task manager to ensure it closed completely. Thank you random comment!
Yeah it worked for me. I thought I was too dumb to figure out icue. Turns out, it just sucks.

Hardware lighting doesnt save when you close icue but lighting effect does. However, it doesnt sync the whole system like hardware lighting do. Just use murals

I did exactly what this video said to do to save hardware lighting to my Scimitar RGB Elite mouse. Except that it doesn't seem to work at all. I set the lighting, I go to device settings, I told it to overwrite a slot. It shows that it's saved. Then the second I click onto another section it pops up saying "Your hardware profile has not been saved yet. If you want your current settings to work when ICUE isn't running, save your profile in device settings". WHICH I JUST DID!!!! I've tried it multiple times, same result. I tried clearing all the saved profiles and saved in the now empty slot fresh. No difference. After turning off Icue, the lighting went to how I set it and the setting apparently did save but it isn't recognized in the software.
The only reason I upgraded to iCue 4 to begin with is because every so often the side buttons on my mouse just randomly stop working when Icue is running. This has happened multiple times and is a problem with the software, not the mouse. This is my second Scimitar mouse and I had this problem with both. It is always an enormous hassle to get it working again and usually involves completely uninstalling Icue, digging through the registry to manually delete files it left behind and reinstalling from scratch. Which is what I did yesterday.
Corsair makes good hardware, but ICUE is the most frustrating, buggy, bloated mess of peripheral software ever created.

This is Michael. I agree with you, but guess what, IQ is actually still better than the Asus or MSI programs.
"Hardware Lighting" is for when iCue is closed. "Lighting Effects" is when iCue is open. You need to save under "Device Settings" after you edit the "Lighting Effects" . That's why it worked when you closed it but not while iCue was open.
This software is far too complicated to use. It really needs to have its entire format rebuilt to make it more intuitive and easy to use. I spent over an hour just trying to figure out how to make a basic profile for the rainbow effect on the K70 keyboard. I had to save it several times to get it to remember it was saved. It's ridiculous. I didn't buy it to spend my afternoon trying to figure out how to adjust the lighting on one piece of hardware.
Corsair needs to look at Roccat and Razer for some ideas on how to make it simplified, more reliable, and easier to use.
wait until you use other brand's own RGB software, hot garbage compared to ICUE, i guess there can't be a perfect RGB software out there, its imposible
@@plasticelephant1969 Seriously, I've used the ones I mentioned above, and overall they are much better. ICUE may have a few more interesting features, but nothing that makes it worth this much hassle. To be honest, my mouse still won't activate a saved lighting profile, unless I completely exit the ICUE program. Doing so, then removes it from the task bar as a background program, and I can't check the battery life of my mouse without restarting the program. I did everything Corsair recommends to fix these bugs, and nothing works. It's really not all that great. Roccat and Razer both had much better software. The only reason I use ICUE, is because I love this keyboard and mouse, but the RGB leaves a lot to be desired.
@@plasticelephant1969 Software that isn't pure and utter trash isn't THAT hard to write. It's just hard to write really fast, which is about the time frame most companies give coders to push shit out the door. So the software functions, most of the time. Seriously, this is just RGB lighting. Imagine being in healthcare and knowing the software is JUST as garbage and that your license to practice rides on the software working properly for purposes of documentation. Yes, what a joy.
im trying to do a wave effect similar to the default rainbow wave but with different colors and nothing i do will work its really annoying me
i have had 0 issues with Razer's rgb software, i didnt have to figure anything out i spent less than an hour setting up my rgb but icue for my new keyboard is a nightmare@@plasticelephant1969
When I turn on my PC my motherboard and ram lighting don’t save until I open up the icue software and it goes to where I have it saved. It’s weird

Since you updated ICUE to version 4, I can no longer save effects other than solid color to my K95 RGB first generation keyboard, nor can I change the lighting colours of the MR, profile, brightness and lock keys. Why have you disabled this functionality? This is really frustrating.

You just need to copy the exact layout in lightning effects from hardware lightning and overwrite the profile in device settings!😁thank me later

that would be accurate but for some stupid reason, the preset profiles shown at the lighting effects are not the same as shown in the hardware lighting ones, jesus fucking chist, this is the last time i buy any corsar shit

They removed Hardware lighting from ICUE you have to use either Rainbow or static lighting now
Wow Corsair great job. I purchase a $60 mouse and I submit a help ticket and 5 days later still nothing. Awesome job. My $10 mouse gave me less issues
1.) I Open Icue, 2.) I Click the Little Arrow in the Top Left to Bring Down My Profile List, 3.) Select The Profile I want To Keep in OnBoard Memory, 4.) I go to the Device Setting For the K70 RGB KeyBoard, 5.) I Overwrite The Default or add the Profile that I want to Keep on the KeyBoard, 6.) I Close Icue in the TaskMananger. Then the Lights Stop Working…
When I change hardware lighting and close the app it does not save and goes back to the default rainbow wave :(

This software is horrible. I tried saving the the lighting settings to onboard memory but it never sticks. Whenever program is closed it goes to lighting effects I never even saved. In fact, the lighting effects that appear weren't even there from out of the box, I have no clue where they came from and I haven't been able to change them. Best thing I ever did was uninstall this unintuitive software.
This new software sucks. It's like it was thrown together in a week.

the software when installed dont have any of all those options. all i want is to re-map the "g" keys

Just going to say it, this is the worst peripheral software I have ever used. I am returning my Scimitar Elite after several hours of wasted time trying to deal with icue's unintuitive interface and frequent issues saving profiles and not recognizing the mouse. It's a shame because it's a damn good mouse, it just has complete shit for software.

@@DylanoTheMage Are you qutting icue4 from the arrow at the bottom right of the task bar? I've been using this method as well to keep the lights as I want them and it works.

Why do I have to manually switch each fan settings unlike the previous icues where I can just 1 click to adjust between "Quiet" "Balanced" and "Extreme"? I have to make 3 profiles for it now... It's getting very ridiculous!!!😡😡😡
Keep trying to set up hardware lighting for Corsair Vengence Memory sticks, but it doesn't seem to stick? Settings will take when I open iCue and manually reload, but can't figure out how to use hardware lighting to just set them (sans mural).
I've reloaded the drivers, and rebooted the computer. I even reloaded all the software from scratch.
The only way to get the lighting on my mouse to stay lit, is to completely quit the iCUE program after Overwrite. When you do that, you can no longer see the battery indicator on the task bar, and the LED's on the mouse only show the dpi, profile, or sniper colors. They do not indicate the battery level or charging when plugged in. There's no way to tell if the battery is getting low while using the mouse. It's very frustrating.
my ICUE isn't showing these features and every now and then everything just sets to red.

I set up hardware lighting on the Corsair AIO pump as shown in this video. It worked for about a week, and then it stopped working permanently. I've never been able to get it to work again.
once i go into "hardware lighting", my selected rgb fans does what its suppose to do, but once i go out of that "hardware lighting", it goes to a static purple color and stays there unless i go back to hardware lighting. But if i go to murals and try to change it to some different colors, it wont do anything unless i go to "Device settings" and do a "force update".

Why does using this software feel like i'm going through the most difficult modding process for a game? The fact that they still haven't simplified ICUE is absurd to me. ICUE is one of the most annoying overcomplicated soft wares i've ever used.
I sucessfully installed iCue on Windows 7 SP1, and when I launch the iCue application, it barfs an error dialog "The procedure entry point UnregisterSuspendResuemNotification could not be located int eh dynamic link library USER32.dll." When I click the OK button, the dialog button goes away and nothing happens.

Ok, I installed this on Windows 10, and I got it to finally worked... however, I ahve no clue how to use this software at all. Is there some kind of automatic setup button somehewre I can run that will detected all my Corsair DIMMs, sensors, Commander COre and Core XT, Fans, etc? And automatically set the up. Because I can't find anything anywhere....
This does not work. I set the colors for my motherboard and gpu but nothing changes color. It used to about a year ago then randomly things just stop working.

I have K63 and I love it so much that I went out of my way to find a 2nd one. when first one broke down. Problem is that I reinstalled ICU and completly destroy the lights. I t literally turned off all the keyboard lightings. I made the settings in the ICUE but now without the iCUE running I have no lights on my keyboard, something that was running without the software and the software does not allow me to save a profile on my keyboard. WTF corsair? the scimitar warks fine after I rearanged the profiles, but you f up the keybord lights.

my lian li fans update live when i click update to another color. Why is this software so crap compared to that?
How do I get 10 fans to sync together? I have them on 2 rgb controllers connected to the commander pro. I still have to time the one to make it look synced
maybe use a fan splitter and only use 1 fan controller to easen up the process

If I have to use an older version of iCUE to return the features of my keyboard, how do you expect me to be willing to purchase new Corsair brand RGB components for a new system when I have to throw away my keyboard and any other components that still work? Is this a way of forcing people to buy all new gear every few years regardless of if it still works or not? Pathetic, keep it up and I'll never use Corsair again.
Whenever I open iCUE, the only thing that pops up is the Sensors. Like absolutely NOTHING else. I cant select anything and for the love of God, cannot find how to change anything on my keyboard. Anybody have the same issue??
As Matthew Rehg stated below, if you have a mural selected it will take priority over any lighting settings you may have.
Could not figure out why the lighting effect wasn't staying.. Device settings for the Vengence RAM only offers you firmware updates and nothing else. Even after saving the "Rain" effect to my profile and taking off all the murals my RAM sticks still go dark after closing iCue.. It is still running in the background.. Am I missing something? Everyone loves Corsair.. So far I don't understand why.

Anyone help me out? installed it to change my lights, but it was causing my cooler to have connection issues, couldnt tell ya why, so i uninstalled the garbo program. But now my lights pulsate instead of a fluctuating rainbow like it was pre installation.

Mine was green, if you want to just reset the keyboard to default then google how to reset corsair keyboard. However, my default is a rainbow spiral. Otherwise I could only do static colors from the software even though I used to be able to do a few different options.

No, tonight I submitted a ticket with corsair for my "CUE H115i ELITE CAPELLIX XT Liquid CPU Cooler" I cant even change the hardware lighting its stuck on red and I didn't even set it to red.

@@soup_boneI have the same unit with the same problem. iCUE correctly saves hardware lighting to my Corsair Dominator DRAM but not to the AIO cooler. It worked for about a week after I installed the cooler. Then it just stopped working for no obvious reason.
It’s been 3 months and still cannot change hardware lighting lol! Even after resent commander pro and all that jazz still don’t work hahahaha oh well!
Just tell me how to turn all this crrp off...

Icue must be the single handily the worst shit I’ve ever used
I was going to buy an ICue H150i LCD to go in my Corsair 5000D case, but then I did a quick search and found out iCue only runs on Windows 10. I run Windows 7. So yeah, Corsair, FAIL.
I'll buy some other solution that is controlled by BIOS or buttons on a box, not software.

Where the hell is Corsair? This video is filled with complaints about this software not working. A year has gone by and it seems the same issues linger. There's a clear problem with the UI of ICue because I'm not the only one that's confused with the layout. Why isn't there a button to finalize your options? The lighting isn't sticking to what's being programmed so you have to force quit the application? What is this? Hell, mine isn't even viewing my fans as fans but instead, as pump caps... Why did I waste my money on this stuff?

icue is terrible... i load a profile from ur website... but if i want to change the gif or jpg on the aio screen, it can't use the profile ... it resets the lights effects..

You might think that since most of these comments are a year old, theyve done something about these issues but youd be absolutely wrong. iCUE sucks dont even bother installing it
Its has acutally becomed a horrilbe update, that made no sense since the last one seemed perfect in many aspects. it was much easier to use, and there limitless modes and patterns. for me it was just so much easier jumping into, and this just seems upside down. what an L corsair.

Worst software For Using RGB and all led i ever use Corsair should make new Software or update it

Horrendous software. Incredibly cumbersome to use and when you think you have it figured out you're back to square one with no profiles saved. No way to save a profile that I can find. I have an older K 95 Keyboard and some of the menu items in this video are not there. There is NO "overwrite" in any menu I can find.
I recently got a pc with a corsair rad and it works great but this icue software at least the rgb part is the most convoluted unintuitive shit i have ever used in my life. Good god its awful.

“Hardware lighting” was a new feature implemented by corsair to SPY ON YOU so that you are forced to enable icue on windows startup and run 24/7 in the background. Better “user metrics” to pump up their stock market price for shareholders at customer’s expense. Icue 3 was WAYYYY better. Disgraceful and I will never buy from corsair again.
This software is garbage. Tutorial didnt work for me unfortunately. The force quit from tast manager trick others have mentioned worked though.

iCue is one of the worst pieces os software I've ever used. Ridiculously complicated and none of these videos actually shows how to do anything.
