Hi technicaltrucking8704, I'm assuming you are asking if you can plug 3 PIN ARGB devices into the 4 PIN RGB connector on your motherboard. It physically wont fit, on the 3 pin adapter, the remaining position should be blocked and not allow you to connect it to a 4 pin connector. This is by design, as these are not compatible devices. 3 pin devices are 5v ARGB, and the 4 pin connections are 12V RGB connections, you would damage the 3 pin devices if you try to connect them. There are 12V RGB devices available but I don't see many of them out there. There is a solution however, there are RGB hubs available that will connnect to the 4 pin (12V) header and convert the signal and output it to 5V 3 pin devices on the hub. Some Hubs will do both with a selector switch and both inputs. This is the way to accomplish this if that's the only connector you have and need to get it to work. With that solution, your ARGB devices will still only display a single color at a time, although you can change it. 12V RGB (for pc's) is not Addressable, meaning all LED's on the HUB/Device will be the same single color. But it works. I hope that helps, thanks for watching!!!!
Ever since I reset my pc, my rgb doesn’t work like it used to. For example only time I can be a solid color if I do red or blue. Now if I pick yellow, it shows yellow as well as doing rainbow at the same time. Any input?
This is a great video of the options, but I'm seeing a lot of complaints from people that Asus Aura doesn't work reliably. I currently have a Thermaltake Tower900 with their RGB fittings and res/pump combos. I'm controlling it all with their TT RGB Plus app and it works fairly well. Some odd bugs once in a while, but nothing major. I'm getting ready to do a full rebuild of my system and was looking at what other RGB options are in the market. A lot of them say they work with Aura, but it sounds like people have a lot of issues getting everything to work together. Being able to sync with full color smart bulbs in the room would be awesome, though.
Can Aura Sync control the Thermaltake AIO pump speed or have to use the Thermaltake TTRGB plus software? What is the cpu usage for both if need to run both?

From here you can install the ASUS plugin and hopefully manage your motherboard here. I need to revisit this subject in more detail and do another updated video. It means they are the only components you have with lighting that is compatible with "ASUS" Aura Sync. Like if you had a "Corsair" CPU Cooler then you would use Corsair's "iCue" software to control the lighting for that. This video though mentioned an "iCue" plugin that helps control ASUS components.
Have you worked with Signal RGB at all? I've heard you can get more control of the lighting and fans. The drawback being you need to remove all others lighting control software. I dislike Armory Crate because it always wants to install stuff for my Asus ROG Maximus XI Formula LGA1151 that I don't want or use. I'm rebuilding into a Montech Sky 2 so I can upgrade my Gigabyte rtx2070 to a Gigabyte rtx4070 Ti and getting rid of my Corsair fan setup and adding 3 Antec RGB Fans, 5V-3PIN Addressable RGB Fans to the stock fans in the Sky 2. I want an idea of what I'm doing before tearing down my older case.
Hi CharlesSmith-io9fp, I've worked with SignalRGB a bit, At some point, I hope to create a video on it. Although I've had alot of success with SignalRGB and it's worked with almost everything i've had, I can't say it's my goto software. It should work great for your asus motherboard and give you control over it as well as control RGB/Fan. It's free to try it, so I would highly suggest using it. I'd prefer to use it over Aura Sync. Also take a look at OpenRGB, much less intuitive, but that would also work well. Jacknet is another solution, but I don't love jacknet, although it works. Check out those software apps, I am working on Videos for them, but takes time. Good luck, have fun!!!
@@HardwareArtisan Thank you for this answer. I've tried Aura Sync and Corsair iCUE but although I gotten limited control it was never intuitive. I have heard of OpenRGB but Jacknet is a new one. I have made sure I'm subscribed because you have a number of videos that look very informative. I didn't get into building computers until I was almost 60. That was 16 years ago. It keeps me from playing in the streets. This rebuild was because I needed a 40 series RTX to play Starfield. I want the case to look like it's fun, not a boring cube.
Doesn't appear that Fan Xpert is in AI Suite anymore. It's only in Armory Crate now. Maybe it depends on the motherboard? Also, I found iCue to be very buggy. I gave up on it.
Hi kattmandu, That would be welcome addition for sure. I'm not aware of it changing per motherboard, but there are alot of motherboards out there. Thanks for the info!!! Thanks for watching!!!

I have a prebuilt that came with an asus mobo (a620-plus WiFi) and I only want ONE thing : the default rainbow puke colors when it powers on during POST to go away… I’ve tried everything , and every piece of software - nothing gets rid of the rainbow effect until windows loads and the software of choice kicks in. Is there anyway to get rid of this and have it set to a new setting? I’d even rather have it OFF completely and then have it turn on to my profile once windows boots up. Thanks in advance !

The issue is, in the latest version of aura sync which will no longer be updated has this game mode where the rgb lights start flashing with the game u are playing. Even till this day its bugged, if u toggle the switch to turn it off it will turn back on after restart. Asus eveb included other rubbish in aura sync such as Phillips hue light strips. And just to annoy me even more the older aura sync version the windows certificate has expired and you can no longer run it on newer versions of windows 11/10. All asus has to do is update the software certificate and it will work, but asus wont. Armoury crate does not have game mode rgb lights. But Armoury crate is just a complete mess, promotions of other products, wallpapers, adverts to buy other things. Updates that older then whats on the website, virtual pet is just basically clippy from windows xp. When you click on tabs in armoury crate, it just open other panels its a horrible piece of crap. Gigabyte is just one panel, change ur rgb and ur done.
Nice video and useful but I have a question, my current motherboard is Asrock, and I love the possibility of setting the LEDs directly in the bios without software, I imagine that other brands like Asus don't offer this possibility right?
Hi NicMatto, I have found that some boards have basic abilities to change RGB lighting, others don't. I don't have a way to be sure which ones will do it and which ones won't, other than research the user manuals to see if it identifies that ability. I have a Gigabyte Motherboard that has the ability to do very basic lighting control. That's a great question, somebody might be able to tell us which boards are likely to have that, but for now, I have to just research it prior to buying. It is a nice feature if it has it and all you need is a single color or basic effect. Good Luck and Have Fun, thanks for watching!!
Got a MSI mag forge 112R case and a asus tuf gaming b550-plus motherboard but I can't modify the rgb of the case's fans with aura sync. Someone got an idea ?
Hi! I am thinking of getting about 60 cms of ws2812b led strip and installing it on a PRIME B650M-K. Can you install the program once, and set everything up and uninstall it, so it doesn't take up cpu usage? OR maybe only set it up in the bios once and forget? Thank you for your knowledge, the video showcased the aura features very well i have to say.
Hi KickButobski, there is a setting in Aura Sync to determine what effect to show if the software isn't running. I haven't tried setting that and then uninstalling the software and i'm not around that PC at the moment to test it. I'll try to test that as it's a really good question. You might be able to simulate that by stopping all the Asus services and if it gives you the lighting you want, then try uninstalling the software, but I can't be certain what results you will get, I'll try and test it. If your BIOS has any ability to control the RGB lights that will be a much better solution, although that is usually quite limited, but good enough to set a color on the headers. Good Luck, Keep having Fun!!! Thanks for watching!
@@HardwareArtisan thank you for the detailed answer. Must be hard getting to all of the questions. Lastly, is there a way to not even once downloading the app, just set it once in bios and forget about it?

Hi Mate, I really need some help. I would like to control my RGB headers and my graphics card, I just want 3 simple colours (red, purple, orange) as presets that I can change by selecting them. Is it so difficult in this software to have switch between colours or do you have to reset them everytime?
Hi morgan3625, I don't think so, if you want to use Aura Sync, you have to use what they provide. I would suggest taking a look at SignalRGB, it will control your RGB lighting on Asus Motherboards and is a better piece of software overall. There is a free version, so check it out. I did a video on SignalRGB, check it out here: ua-cam.com/video/RN6pz_xOJ1c/v-deo.html Thanks for Watching!
Hi Easymotive369, This motherboard does not appear to have Aura Sync Support, at least not from an RGB lighting perspective. I looked at the manual real quick and I don't see any RGB or ARGB headers, indicating it has not built in RGB controller, so Aura Sync wouldn't detect anything. But, that doesn't mean you can't do RGB lighting of course, you will just need a different controller other than your motherboard. I personally like the Corsair Ecosystem, but there are others from Thermaltake, Lian Li along with many standalone controllers. Good Luck, have fun and thanks for watching!!!

Hi boredaliensclub4416 , Honestly, as far as the software goes, I feel about the same about all of them. They are all quite basic as far as RGB goes. They all work for the most part. Asus probably has the most polished feel out of all of them though. But you might consider using signal RGB to control the board. I'm working on a signal RGB video, it's a decent piece of software, not perfect, but better than the motherboard manufacturers software. Good luck and Have Fun, thanks for watching!!!
I've been struggling for close to 12hrs now, trying to get iCUE to take control of my ASUS MOBO, and GPU lights. I can get my kingston rgb ram software take control of their RGB if I first turn off the RGB sync off from Armoury Crate, but the GPU doesn't work if done the same, and you can't turn off the aura sync for the MOBO No matter how many un installs(with the Armoury crate un install software) and re installs I do, Armoury crate just wont let icue take control. ICUE has the correct plugins installed, and I have the "in-game lighting effects" turned on in Armoury crate.
I cannot sync the rgb lighting to my ram or other fans. please help. my motherboard is nzxt n7
motherboards from asus with aura sync labeled works with the rgb fans becuas it has 4pin grb on it for aura sync
for the ram, what brand and model is your ram?
H610M-E D4 didnt recognize water cooler rise mode wcb-01. I dont know what to do anymore
Hey mate, did you find some resolution? I am with the same problem...
@@301Skn No bro, in my case I plugged it into an RGB controller with remote control. you could try. You could try updating the bios if you haven't already. I did not do it.
So, by my knowledge, those are to show debug codes, and I don't think you can remove them.
Armory crate is the most intrusive/expansive software ever, if you can find another way...DO IT.
Explain
Bro armoury sucks big time last ASU’s laptop I had updates would say “already installed try uninstalling and installing again “ and all I tried to do is update it but it would fail and I asked geek squad they couldn’t fix it so I went Acer predator sense and no issues at all but now I’m on pc 😊
I hate ASUS ARMOURY CRATE SO BADLY i moved to gigabyte, there software is just a simple straight up RGB software that controls thergb on the motherboard/ram/gpu, that is it, nothing more. Anything else is optional, such as fan control, system center that shows all info, this all is optional. I was so angry over asus aura sync i was vexed that I was like f Armoury crate and moved to gigabyte. Asus has aura sync, and the older versions were awesome just straight up simple, control ur rgb of ur hardware thats it. Its literally a virus, because it was proned to be hacked since its part of the bios. Asus has patched that, but it's insane this software is so bad. Gigabyte is just one panel, change ur rgb and ur done.
Armory works fine here.

@@HardwareArtisandudes got a gigabyte board 💀
Got a MSI mag forge 112R case and a asus tuf gaming b550-plus motherboard but I can't modify the rgb of the case's fans with aura sync. Someone got an idea ?
You need to plug your fans to your motherboard argb 5V pin
Is it compatible with the Aura GC1 Gamdias Case?
Lastly, is there a way to not even once downloading the app, just set it once in bios and forget about it?
every time i install Armoury crate freeze my pc Windows 10 i!! I never find solution ( format , clean install , reinstall .. nothing helps )
Does anyone knows how to fix ?
Hi Mate, I really need some help. I would like to control my RGB headers and my graphics card, I just want 3 simple colours (red, purple, orange) as presets that I can change by selecting them. Is it so difficult in this software to have switch between colours or do you have to reset them everytime?
is there another way to do this without bloatware?
Hi morgan3625, I don't think so, if you want to use Aura Sync, you have to use what they provide. I would suggest taking a look at SignalRGB, it will control your RGB lighting on Asus Motherboards and is a better piece of software overall. There is a free version, so check it out. I did a video on SignalRGB, check it out here:

@@HardwareArtisan a shame that there is no way to do it through UEFI :(
how to change psu colors? Armory Create dowsnt show it
i think it only works with asus rog strix/tuf rgb psu
Do you need Asus fans and products or can you mix and match it and it will still work?
Are you also able to control ram rgb or do I need icue for that?
only asus products has aura sync, if u want to control rgb ram, go for rams with aura sync label for example: Tforce ram
ADD THE COLORED STRIPS I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO RAISE AND LOWER THE BRIGHTNESS
In the center of the color wheel is a square box with a little white circle you move around. This is the brilliance.
How do I turn the rgb on
How to fix the high cpu usage
obviously bottleneck.
your GPU is too strong to be handled by your cpu.
Can I buy any 12v or 5v RGB and connect?
Also, why is the 5v more interessting?
ahhh the A... the A is important... adressable!
check the aura sync motherboards specs
some has 4pin 12v RGB aura sync and some has 3pin 5v RGB
My motherboard is
ASUS PRIME A520M-K
Is it support this software in my motherboard?
@@HardwareArtisan Thank u👍
@@HardwareArtisanbut if he downloads the software armoury crate/aura
can he still controll an aura sync ram/gpu?
jezus christ, all i want to do is change the ugly orange colour of my mobo but it won't let me do it. It definetly shows up but no matter how many times i hit the stupid colour swap box it just keeps that ugly orange colour. pls i need help i have been trying to trouble shoot this and i am THIS close to putting my mobo under a hydralic press.
helped a bunch. thx
so my TUF B550 Gaming Plus Wifi mobo has some built in RGB lights on the actual motherboard itself, I cant seem to figure out how to change those RGB lights! they change every second! I just want them to stay on WHITE for the love of the PC GODS someone help me change this! lol my other RGB lights like the fans and the case is all WHITE except the freaking MOTHERBOARD! i want it to be WHITE nothing else!
Did you figure out?
Which rgb you like the most? Asus vs msi vs gigabyte?
Hi boredaliensclub4416 , Honestly, as far as the software goes, I feel about the same about all of them. They are all quite basic as far as RGB goes. They all work for the most part. Asus probably has the most polished feel out of all of them though. But you might consider using signal RGB to control the board. I'm working on a signal RGB video, it's a decent piece of software, not perfect, but better than the motherboard manufacturers software.
Good luck and Have Fun, thanks for watching!!!
gigabyte
argb boot on boot before OS kicks in?
anyone? im about to return my tuf gaming mb.
garbage
Is your ram Non-Rgb?
aura looks to be very basic, why are companies not following corsair wher we can do a lot with rgb
I've been struggling for close to 12hrs now, trying to get iCUE to take control of my ASUS MOBO, and GPU lights.
I can get my kingston rgb ram software take control of their RGB if I first turn off the RGB sync off from Armoury Crate, but the GPU doesn't work if done the same, and you can't turn off the aura sync for the MOBO
No matter how many un installs(with the Armoury crate un install software) and re installs I do, Armoury crate just wont let icue take control.
ICUE has the correct plugins installed, and I have the "in-game lighting effects" turned on in Armoury crate.
Any clue what could I do to resolve this issue?
p.s ........I just WISH this absolute garbage software, was made universal.
I'm having the same problem. I cannot control the graphics card RGB with ICUE.
What's up my man
Ok so how do we download armory crate? Because you do realize it doesnt work to install off their website and never has for 99% of people😂?
Then when you uninstall armory everything gets reset and your back the beginning. Then you light get it how you wan then you turn your computer off and next time you put it back on surprise it’s all different. Rainbow ram or rainbow mobo. I HATE THIS SOFTWARE BLOATWARE AT ITS FINEST
Aura Sync and Armory Create sucks, they are overcomplicated. I prefer to use the button on the chase to set up rgb fans :D
This software is lacking brightes ... the old one have it... what a shame. I dont rly like to have my illumination at maximum all time

No brightness control for MB ARGB headers in this app. Why??? This should be a basic option! No energy saving modes like ARGB power off when monitor goes to sleep or when my computer is inactive. Can be solved using another profile and special external programs, activated from screensaver menu.
