I love unaged rum. Paranubes, Grand Arome, Savanna Herr and Clairin to name a few. I recently bought an Australian Kilik from Romdeluxe, that's really good. A lot of red berry notes.

Oh so many bold white rums in my cabinet! Love the Clairins, but you can also wake me up for a grassy agricole, Pere Labat for instance. Recently opened a bottle of Barbancourt Blanc 55, not THAT bold, but very nice nonetheless. And indeed, a little of those rums go a long way in a cocktail. Keep up the good work! Love your chanel.

Semi-new to your channel and I've been loving your erudite and amusing reviews. I've found that the Holmes Cay makes an an absolutely dazzling Rum Scaffa. I use 1 oz of the Holmes Cay, fat 1/2 oz of Benedictine and one dash Angostura. In the same overproof white funk bomb vein, Rum Fire absolutely kills in a 50/50 shot with Cynar; a more profound version of the Wraynar 50/50 with Wray and Nephew.

I'll probably have to dig around Colorado a bit to find some of these, but these are the exact kinds of flavors I enjoy exploring in any spirit. I'm coming from the whiskey world, and much like you am getting a bit tired of the same ol' stuff (which is a reason I'm branching out to other spirits), and rum/tequila have been great for new, bold flavors. @@therumrevival My recommendation is to make it max 1/4th of your blend. My personal blend at the moment is half Oz Hampden overproof, half Oz the high ester Agricole. Half Oz Appleton 12 and a half Oz oftd combined with j.m. Schrubb as the orange liqueur. Credits go to make and drink for the orange liqueur selection and the blend is also loosely inspired by the blend from the ultimate Mai Thai site also referenced by make and drink.
