I absolutely love your channel. I appreciate your education on rums! And this is why I love rum so much. Great Video! And I been wanting to get my hand on the Holmes Cay Port Mourtant 😊
Thank you for a very educational video. I've been hoping someone knowledgeable would start a cool channel about rum and it seems you have done just that! Looking forward to following along.
Wow!! I love your passion for Cane Spirits!! I’ve been into rum for the last few years and just did a tasting with a buddy last night! I discovered a lot and your videos are super helpful and fun! Thanks so much
Wow this is extremely helpful and informative. The rum world can be pretty confusing and this is a great breakdown of the types of rum brands. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos in the future
Thank you for the video, I'm currently one week away from my barmanager exam and in a whole year of classes, they haven't even taken this into consideration for teaching lol. It's useful information on a personal level anyways :)
Such a good video. Thank you and keep going with your videos if you can. I find them refreshing and highly informative. I really enjoy the minimal editing style and your setup.
Yes, I have a few Hamiltons rums though primarily the ones that are more geared towards cocktail making. I use the Demerara 86 and 151 in a lot of drinks. Great price point on them. I have yet to try any of the single cask releases from Hamilton. They seem to be well priced.
Modern Caribbean Rum by Matt Pietrek for sure. An amazing resource. Also, And a Bottle of Rum for some history. The Oxford Companion to Spirits and Cocktails has been pretty handy too
Does anyone know what's going on with Denizen 8? It's very hard to find. I've got some of the new labels and I've compares it to the old label and I can't really detect a difference so I don't think their supplier has changed.
Maybe they're purposely going through all of their old inventory of the old labels before the new labeled bottles make it out to markets. Not sure, but I will say in California I've been seeing the new bottle in a couple of different places
As someone still easing into navigating the vast world of rum, I found this super informative!
There's soo much going on with rum, so I'm glad I could help a little.
That's great! You condensed and summed up very nicely what matt p explained in a lot of details. Great educational content!
Thanks! Definitely couldn't have done it without all of Matt's research and writing. True MVP

Very true!
Awesome video! I'd heard people talk about E&A Scheer in the past but didn't really understand what they did.
Thanks! - yeah it definitely took me some point to get an understanding of what they are about. I hope to visit them in the coming year.

Very informative, thank you. Are you familiar with Hamilton Rum? Do you have any info/opinion on them?

What about the "Dependent" Bottlers? ;)
Great information. Question: What books are you reading along your rum journey
Modern Caribbean Rum by Matt Pietrek for sure. An amazing resource. Also, And a Bottle of Rum for some history. The Oxford Companion to Spirits and Cocktails has been pretty handy too
@@therumrevival The Oxford Companion was just mentioned by Make and Drink in a recent video. Cheers 🍹

@@therumrevival there's literally just 1 liquor store in North Jersey that has D8. It didn't used to be this hard to get.
