Yuffie with max strength, Luck and 2 hero drinks allows her to hit 9999 damage with each hit of doom of the living 15 hits a pop. She also has the fastest charging limit gauge in the group which is huge when her strongest limit breaks are on lv 3.
Nice seeing different strats than KOTR mime. IIRC I killed Emerald in about 45 min with underwater materia with Cloud, Red, CID using 4x Cut and regular casting spells, summons and limit breaks. I tried multiple times until when emerald used his super where he one shots everyone but Red survived with 200 health and I recovered and killed him, I could have also been using auto life but it's been so long. Started Ruby fight with 2 dead ofcourse and pretty much did same thing except it took almost 2 hours. Cant wait to see these guys in future remakes.
Emerald weapons's one-shooting attack deals damage based on how much materia each character have. It deals 1111 DMG for each materia (more than 9 materia = 9999 dmg received)
There are some mistakes but that's always nice to see other strats than Paralysis or KotR! Long Range Materia does nothing here, as it was mentioned. Underwater can be equipped on an ally, no matters if he's dead, giving Yuffie a 2nd slot available. (Just to mention it. But this makes sense on Yuffie too if it's a solo character challenge.) Too bad you kept only 6 Counter-Attacks against Ruby. The fight would have been faster if you had removed something else when you replaced Wizard Bracelet with Minerva Band. Don't neglect the evasion power of Mystile. It can make you often avoid Ultima (so no need to spend time killing the Tentacles in solo), Comet2, etc., which seems to be more efficient than nullifying Fire, especially after you doubled Yuffie's MDef with Hero Drinks / Dragon Force. The evasion is also used for accuracy actually, despite they didn't call it agility. Maybe Mystile even increases it enough so you don't require removing Fury. It can be interesting to test if you prefer to use Limits instead of Attack.
I did it without Chocobo breeding and W-item cheat was only used on elixirs for AP farming just to save time and not mugging the tonberry etc... For Ruby(second fight): Cloud was lvl 95(others around 87-89 and got KOTR, Phoenix-final attack, no mime, no hero drinks. Used final attack 5 times(for not being totally concentrated, really) and the thing is that Emerald fell first and then the mastered KOTR was there for Ruby doing around max dmg.. it was a very close call, I remember that if my last KOTR didn't do it, his ultima would finally kill me(such a great childish feeling after the win) because there was no time for another 'wall' magic(the fight went over 30 min)... much tougher fight than emerald. I beat emerald(Cloud was 83 lvl and others 79 or so...) with only 4 mastered counters on yuffie, underwater materia, other materia was a magic master and megall on Red(the long Bugenhagen way) and Ultima and Comet and Contain on Cloud and that was it. All the characters lived through the end with a really so-called standard fighting, restoring health with my megalixirs(I had 22) Red xiii was using his bahamut ZERO and that limit earth something, Cloud was going with Ultima and Comet2 and 4xCut, yuffie was going with 4xCut and counters... childhood avenged!! fuck yeah
ruby weapon = Yuffie only kill off the other teammates (sorry cloud) + Lvl 99...restore materia linked to magic counter... ruby weapon attacks, the cure counters, then drink an elixir (use W item materia) and then throw a dazers item at him to paralyze him... then kick his ass with gauntlet limit break... rinse repeat. You'll never lose...if you want to speed up the process load the materia slots with as many counter attacks as possible. Make sure she has ribbon equipped..and if you want a fire materia in your armor linked to an elemental... this way if he breathes fire on you it heals you (what a sucker!) If you use minerva band as your armour the pairing will have no affect... as insurance have Phoenix linked to final attack materia if youre afraid of dying :-p
Intellectuals(Or Cowards,if you wanna say that):Uses Cait Sith's Slots Limit Break,and keeps resetting over and over until The Result ends up being "Game Over " Immeadiatley.
Isnt elemental and fire better in the armor department? And magic hammer you can hit him until he runs out of magic points (MP) then all he can do is shoot either ruby flame or ruby ray and only one of those will hurt you
About Fire: He removed 2 Counter-Attack replacing Wizard Bracelet by Minerva Band (nullifies Fire, much more Def, fewer MDef). You could keep instead Wizard Bracelet and replaced 2 Materias on it by Elemental + a Fire elemental Materia, especially if Elemental absorbs. I think that's better, indeed. But I'd say the best is still to have 8 Counter-Attack (the maximum) even if you take normal damage from Fire, since Ruby's Flame is a pretty weak attack if you have nice stuff and stats, and especially after multiple Hero Drinks. About Magic Hammer: Ruby without MP is indeed easier, but it requires up to 26 casts of Magic Hammer (less since Ruby will use MP in the same time) to wipe his 2560 MP. So with a 6-8 Counter-Attacks strat, Ruby will be dead way before he runs out of MP.
This video is a little old so I don't know if you'll answer, but I wonder why you put the Long Range materia on Yuffie, when her weapon description tells you that the weapon itself is long range?
If long range works the same as in ff9, it means yuffie gets the same attack power in the back row as she would in the front, while also getting the back row defense boost (edit: it does say this effect when he's over the materia in the menu)

In ff7, Barret and Vincent and Yuffie have weapons that already give them the Long Range effect, it'll say "Long Range Weapon" like it does in the menu. The materia isn't needed at that point. Barret's guns are all long range. He had a couple melee weapons that aren't. Pretty much everything Vincent has is Long Range. Yuffie uses thrown weapons, as well. They already give you that property of being able to hit anything and stay in the back row for less damage,
I can’t get my characters to hit about 500 unless using a summon. I don’t have a gold Chocobo and therefore no special materia. I can get cloud thru like 30 minutes of battle w ruby but I feel like I barely I put a dent in her
Srebrny Rycerz you cannot pair up 4x cut with any blue materia. There’s another yellow materia that also cannot be paired up with any blue materia i just forgot
As M San said, Counter doesn't trigger Double Cut. It could work by counter miming 4x-Cut though. Instead of 7 Counter-Attack, he could have equipped Double Cut and 3(Counter + Mime). This way, if Yuffie uses 4x-Cut and is hit, she would counter with 12 attacks at the total. But the problem then is when Yuffie needs to do something else, for example X-Potion + Hero Drink, she would counter by with 3(X-Potion + Hero Drink), which is quickly redundant and would waste the 7 Counter-Attacks she just could have done.
Everyone sleeps on yuffie but her ultimate weapon deals damage based on the enemy level. Considering emerald weapon is lvl99, she actually has the highest damage against it. With that said, I'm not grinding anything that much and would be much more impressed with a low level run.

Also because if Cloud and Cait Sith were to be used, they wouldn’t reliably deal damage because Ruby drains a lot of health, causing their ultimate weapons to weaken. Similarly for RedXIII and Cid, the tentacles will drain away at their MP, causing them to deal lesser damage as well
First time I ever beat Red Ruby I used cloud with the W summon an kept using knights of round idk how it worked but it did lol . Got my gold chocobo ASAP after the fight 😂
I always had 4x cut on all my chars and 4x gravity for emerald wep i used to beat him so wuick i didnt need the underwater materia lol i musta beat 7 8 and 9 50 times because i loved the games so much lol not counting ff 4 5 6
Even WITH Infinite HP/MP/Limits I'll never fight even CARRY armor itself WITHOUT it so I still had nothing outdamage KoTR even at 5000 to 6000 per Knight at lv 60.
Better reward would be Mini-Game Materia. Where you can play all the mini games from a list without having to create multiple savepoints... or maybe.. Music Materia, so you can open a player and listen to the entire soundtrack of the game. :-P

Emerald is easy to beat. You can force a whole party proc of lucky 7's using 2 materia on everyone....Just saying.

Used the same technique. Many of Emerald's and Ruby's attacks are percentage based, so just keep that HP at max and let Counter Attacks do the job.

Long Range, the Materia, is generally best on Cloud, especially if you use him in the Arena, but that's my opinion.
