- In the Das Boat Northeast finale, Joe Cermele takes the helm again, this time on Lake Erie with hot shot walleye captain Ross Robertson. After outfitting their craft for the precision trolling that scores giant summer walleyes, these old friends get a lesson in what makes this famous walleye fishery tick, and what ticks the rod tip when you trade walleye lures for hot dogs.

I’m a retired charter captain of Lake Erie and the Detroit River, and can tell you that Ross Roberts is the right choice! He’s a great guy, a fantastic fisherman, and contributes mightily to our fishery and industry! I appreciate the historical references to the dramatic turnaround of the health of Lake Erie, and need to remind everyone that loves this resource that we are continuing our battle against the causes of our annual severe algae bloom in our western basin. Thank God for all of the grass roots support, and the multi-state coordinated efforts to identify and address the sources of the causative phosphates.
I’m sure he’s a great guy but he was kinda a dick when dude was reeling in that first fish. I would be very upset if I paid him to fish and he acted like that. The plainer boards make the fish less fun to fight. I would rather catch bluegill with a bobber than fish like that
The writing at the end of this episode is epic. Your girl doesn’t have to be the prettiest bell at the ball. No truer words. Get out there and FISH!

Enjoying this season so far for sure. I mean anything meat eater is good in my book. But there's no doubt the masses are attached to Steve, and he was missed. Jokes, fishing, and all.

Awesome season. Joe was absolutely perfect. I really would love for the series to continue. Please make a Das Boat 4. It'd be nice to see you guys bring in an old school bass boat and come down to the southeast. Bluegills on a 4-5' fly rod are the hardest fight in freshwater. Tight lines and thank you MeatEater for such quality content that makes everyone appreciative of our natural fisheries and the residents that we all love to catch.

Ive been watching Joe and Ross since their first show they did together, and Ross never fails, he does seem to know Erie walleyes like the back of his hand.

The batteries work and enable the whole fish catching system. The outboard works magically well. (My Yamaha 150 is better!) Boats cost money, mates. Good fishing boats cost money and keep draining the accounts. Live with it.

Not a huge fan of this season, the smaller boats were more personal and relatable, Steve's narration is missed and so is the meat eater cast members sprinkled through out the show. Still a solid show its just missing some of the magic.

I'm originally from south west Pennsylvania and loved being able to go up to lake Erie and nail walleye. Im down in Southern Indiana now and it kills me not having a decent walleye fishery. No better table fair than a good fresh walleye.
\With season 1 the original motor was a little worn-out. But with this season, the first thing they do is take off a decent looking motor and put on a new $15,000 outboard.
It's like "look at our old boat - with $25,000 of extra's". Would have been nice if they put up how much everything cost.

I like how Joe Cermele is a regular New Jersey fishing guy, he knows how to relate to the average Joe, (at least speaking for myself). Enjoying this season.
Agreed. He’s become of my new favorite hosts. It goes Drew Carey, Cermele, Richard Dawson. Barbara Walters used to be in there but I changed the parameters to only hosts that looked great in bikinis.

I've enjoyed the series, but laugh a little at the idea that a boat with new electronics, outboard, and trolling motor, is "old". That's a pretty capable craft despite it's hull's age.

We sank a boat one time out on Erie. Coast guard had to come out and save us lol. But I tell ya we was killin them wallies.

Season is still great, but not going to lie one of my favorites parts of this show was getting to watch steve do some fishing and things other than the usual show.
Lacked alittle of what the previous seasons brought but still good less of the usual cast missed Steve of course and the story on the boat wasn't the best but thank you guys for content to get me thru my day

Overall I liked the season but prefer the narration to be done by Steve

This is one of the realest ones of these yet. Broken rod, caught enough trophy fish, filled the cooler, shitty roller, bad water, "got it done so we're headed home" relatable content. Been there! lol

Not so much into this season. Steve just brings something to the show. Also, I ALWAYS look forward to the cook at the end of the episode. Such a bummer.

You want large walleye in lake erie. Troll 8 miles out and east two miles of the fermy nuclear power plant. 12 16 lbs all day no joke when the weather is hot.

As a trout fisherman from one of the driest places on earth, I would love to visit North America to fish. I've been a couple of times, but never out West, and never to fish. Your abundance of water and sports fish is incredible. Hope to get there again one day. Cheers from Australia.
Spending 2/3 of the show talking crap about the type of fishing that is the focus of the show was an odd choice.
This episode was better. At least they actually used Das Boat. This season is easily the worst of the 3
As a Michigander this episode lands close to home. I used to troll for walleye in the Saginaw bay all the time with my uncle. This brought back some pleasant memories.

You're 100% right. They could have went after some slob small mouth instead of spending 20 min reeling in a 2 man limit of walleye.

I do boat fishing with oars, a sail and a handline with many rubber worms or one rod with a sardine lure.
But then again you can't fail here.

I loved Hookshots and I liked the first two seasons of Das Boat, but this season was snoozeville. I skipped through most of it.

Ross is the best matchup with Joe, love when they get together. Ross is one of the best at what he does always looking for a little tweak to make the fishing better.

Really enjoyed this series, Joe did a great job. Growing up in the far West ( Oregon) Salmon an Steelhead we’re always King when I was a kid. Interesting to see people get so excited about these other species.
At least you ate what you caught in this episode. Barely...
WTF, this is MeatEater, not "observe the wild like National Geographic".
We watch for hunting, if I wanted to observe nature I'd watch David Attenborough.
Hate to say it but didn't enjoy season 3 as much. Looking at the views I guess others felt the same. Hopefully we get to see a season 4 with a different host/vibe. Might be cool if you modified something not necessarily made for fishing (i.e., Pontoon, Jet skis, canoe, inflatables, kayaks)

I thought Das boat was about using cheap boats? They put at least 20k in the outboard and 2k in the trolling motor alone. Not even considering the thousands in electronics.
Series was lackluster. A guy last episode who doesn't know when to put the fly rod down and a guy here whose never seen a different fish besides a walleye... Attitudes were horrible too?
I would be pissed if I paid this guy to guide me and he was an ass. It doesn’t even look fun to fish with him!
Honestly this season kinda ticked me off, call the great north east then they do nothing but dick around in coastal water for all but two episodes and didn't even think to do any runs on the thousands of lakes and fisheries between the coast and Erie, more like half assed Noth east
