I wouldn’t teach that to a kid either, especially because it’s not a guaranteed experience. I would instead encourage them to follow their dreams that only adulthood allows so that they look forward to being an adult that has the life they want, and coach them through the downswings. Why would we tell every child that growing up sucks just because some people were disappointed by life after graduation...?
@@SourRobo8364 do you not see the irony in this? As a child you wished you were older and now wish you were younger. How do you think you’ll feel in your 60’s, then on your death bed? Regardless of age or life conditions life will never be perfect and you’ll always be wishing for something more or regretting something from the past. The only way to cope with this is to except that even if life could be better it’s still there and good things happen all the time if you take the time to realize it you’ll see it more and more.

I have another mistake more so children often make: sitting with a bent back. Whilst people often find sitting like this comfortable, it will lead to a fragile back in later life. It will also lead to many other harmful back problems. Instead, I would highly recommend sitting with a straight back. During the first few days of doing this, ur back will start to hurt, but that will go away within 1-2 days. This will be extremely helpful to u in later life. I’m not saying I’m perfect and have never bent my back in my life before, but rather giving advice to others. I hope I could help anyone who’s around my age (6-16 yrs) :) Edit: thank u for the likes, I love every single one of u! ❤️❤️❤️
You are absolutely correct. I am a massage therapist & have seen a rise in "text neck". Young people are getting "hunchbacks" that you normally see late in life in elderly people. Sad sign of the times. Shoulders back, chin up & loose the phone. They create more problems than people realise with constant, close range exposure to radiation. You are a very intelligent young lady @Dawn Jenkins & I commend your proactive stance on this matter. We only have one body to make it through our lifetime, best we look after it.💜
I don't have research or sources for this, but if you hold yourself straight when you stand or sit, you will engage your abs and help shape your core. Not a crazy amount for a six pack or anything, but it helps 😊
Advice from recent college graduate that got 4.0 GPA: Enjoy your time and do stuff you enjoy. When I graduated all that was left in me was dread and depression. I hated my degree and most of the classes I had to take for it. By time I realized I didn't like it, I was too close to graduating to make a change. Now I have to wait for January to sign up at a new school for something I want to do and feel old. Don't be too worried about grades either. I did and ended up missing fun events. It's people that makes like worth living, at least for me.
You need a balance. The other people will have an edge in their social skills as they learned to play. However, I've worked a lot with people like that throughout my life. They'll have a hard time getting past being a retail manager. They'll have great people skills but they struggle with things like writing a report. anyways aiming for Bs imo is what you should go for. Thats like studying and doing your work but leaving enough time to play too.

I have a question, did you more focus on your grades or on your social life? I have a hard time managing both and I'm really afraid that if I don't have the perfect grades I won't be able to achieve my dreams..

Fun fact: Absolutely no one knows what they're doing. I'm 27 and finally considering an internship, I learned that it's okay to do things later, than not at all. :)
Exactly, there's a really big pressure to have "everything" done by 25 and tbh, I've seen some people happier and achieving more on their 30's, 40's and 50's. We all have different speeds.
This really gives hope and a positive outlook on the future. Good luck and have fun with your internship! I bet it feels like life is changing and that’s wonderful. I’m only 20 years old and I feel pressured to figure it all out, but it’s impossible to have it all in one day, one month or year. But what I realize is continuing to move forward and look at the positive helps too.
I use to try to please everyone so they'd like me Luckily, I grew out of that mindset of "If I do this, X will like me!" Just remember you beautiful soul: Don't set yourself on fire to keep others warm. If you're still reading this, I love you!
Good for you. Unfortunately, I'm still in that mindset and now, I'm afraid to go places where people are because I fear their judgement. Ironic because I was the complete opposite in middle school XD
Still dealing with that kinda mentality myself. Being everyone's hero, or the trophy of good behavior or "look what my kid succeeded at". All the times things don't go right, I feel like a huge failure or disappointment. Telling folks "no" when you know you can help is really hard even when you know it's not the best thing for yourself. And letting myself have something for myself instead of giving it all to others is just as hard. Right now I have to make an appointment with myself to "play with my friends" otherwise I'll work all weekend , but I still feel guilty for the work I could have been doing.
I cannot stress more on how important number 5 is. When you're in high school or college, people usually just think of one profession and dedicate most of their academic life into it. Ignoring other potential skills they might learn and be really proficient at it. You can never really be certain if the course you took up in college will be your career forever. Join different clubs or organizations in school to expand your skills and have more options in the future of what you wanna do in the future at an early age.
I'm a teen and to me life is quite meaningless rn , my parents kept on yelling every single day and talks about me for about 5 hours a day. I'm not kidding at all literally 4 - 5 hours a day. They seem to want me to suceed in life or somth but either way at the end we will all die too , you can't bring money to afterlife , you also can't bring jobs to afterlife. All I wanted to say was just to enjoy each of your time in life and always be happy :)
@@doctorsincebirth5072 Even if this is the case, continuous yelling NEVER helps anyone; it's extremely harmful. Rather, that time should be spent supporting your child and outlining ways to succeed.
We need mistakes and they should be counted as a blessing. Imagine going through life with no educational experiences. Your friendships and true love can be enjoyed because of what you've learned and how you've matured emotionally and socially. Without mistakes and the courage to make them and keep going, oh what a sad story life would be. The bitter teaches us to enjoy the sweet.
@Noxious Mind The beauty of it is that it can never be defined because it's fluid. It is perpetuated by faith and fortified by time. It is the greatest test of all one has learned and internalized. It's also unfortunately, the ultimate way to find out all the things wrong with yourself and your partner.
I used to have a friend when I was in 3rd grade who I took for granted- I just thought “Oh hey she’s my friend!” But now I have learned the true meaning of “You never know how much you have until you lose it” My mom had me switch schools, and that’s when I realized I could never make a friend quite like the one I made in my old school… She was my best best BEST friend, but now it seems so hard to make friends :( Nobody really gets me like she did… I regret not recognizing how great of a friend she was…

Same here, I was about to experience the college life but covid had hit 2 months later...now becoming a senior I felt all my college life has been online and it really does suck knowing I can't go back. I am starting to feel more fatigued and depressed alot trying to learn, and it's making it that much harder to feel motivated...Just enjoy now and don't rush it if you can, go at your own pace because I'm feeling it too...I may take a bit slower pace to just enjoy college another year. @@W0lfbaneShikaisc00l True. I didn't invest a penny until I was done with college for this very reason. This is something that many financial experts fail to shed light on. You need principal for your investments to be worth anything in the future. And if your paycheck is $1,500 and your expenses are $1,450, you should not be investing that $50. It won't do you much good in the future and you might end up needing it very very soon.

Yes! It really used to annoy me when I was in my early twenties and people would tell me to "save up", as if I was just wasting my money. Most of my clothes were from op shops (and I didn't have many), I didn't do drugs or smoke, barely touched alcohol. Most of my money went on rent and bills.
Reasons why I watch your channel 1. You talk about real stuff 2. Your animators are amazing 3. You have helped me a lot 4. You talk about sexualitys (and you respect them) 5. YOUR AMAZING!!!!!!! Heart my comment maybe-?
My 5 biggest regrets from youth: 1- Not caring to please anyone; 2- Being a lazy bastard; 3- Doing everything I was told to (that is by parents and teachers); 4- Not practicing sports and getting fat; 5- Not bothering to socialize.
I made an early mistake that I regretted later in life not found in the list, it's not having friends, when I was a kid, I only focus on my grades and knowledge than everything else, I felt like I need friends, but denial prevents me from getting friends, I see people with friends, and I was like "they have friends, but I don't, but who cares? It's their life, not my life", "I don't need friends to survive" "I can handle it" and stuff, but as I kept going, denial doesn't work anymore, I feel like I'm lying to myself, I was thinking of other methods to have friends and freedom, so I started showing my anger, then I reached bargaining, depression and then acceptance, now I realized how friends are important, and how they mean a lot to me. Now, I'm finding friends for true happiness.
Mine is entering relationships and wasted my precious teenage phase and early adult years by supporting the wrong people and building them up while I'm still on the same place in my life. Also having friends who weren't there for me when I welcomed them with open arms. I watched them get ahead of me. That is my biggest regret. There's not a day I don't tell myself, "I should have put myself first to improve."
The BIG mistake we made was letting a 3rd grade teacher double promote our son, it was like a 10 year curse. 1 year difference to a child is like 10 years with adults.
I remember that I was briefly double promoted - went from kindergarten to Grade 1, and then on again to Grade 2. Ended up going back to Grade 1. I don't remember much of it, except being stressed, having headaches, and crying at school all the time.
Thanks for make me remember that I should not give up, sometimes even when you know something, life makes you forget it about it. you always need somone who guides you back to the correct path
One thing that I regret is focusing too much on and even defining myself through my looks. I don't look like society's beauty standard and I hated my face. But the older I got (I'm still in my teens) the more I realized that people perceive you from head to toe and in it's your character that makes people like to be with you and not only your looks. And in the end beauty is temporarily, but character is permanent. So I try to focus more on my personality and character traits than beating myself up because of my looks.

I had #1 and #4 as a child and teenager. BTW, I love the Genshin Impact references! My dad taught me that if you don't set boundaries and assert yourself, people are going to take advantage of you and you will begin to build resentment.
PAIMON AND TRAVELER! You guys are so awesome, I love seeing all of these references in your videos. You always pull them off so well which shows that you guys really know your audience and aren't trying to appeal to a "youth" but to anyone who enjoys a particular something. It makes people happy, it's always exciting to see an entirely unexpected reference like George and Dream from new MC YT or in this video, Paimon and Traveler from Genshin Impact. And this is something especially helpful for a phycology and mental health based channel! having the same narrator coupled with a cute, calm simplistic atmosphere and characters within these animations, and references for those watching make them feel like they're talking to a really nice counselor who they've been to for a while, it gives a sense of familiarity by showing that our interests are known and remembered. and while this channel doesn't substitute a mental health professional, it does so well at imitating one. This channel is amazing, and I love every single video you guys put out. What you all do is incredible and I really admire it. You guys have educated me so much that when I talk to counselors or phycologists they're always surprised by how aware and educated I am on my own issues, and all this information also helps me to learn some of the things I need to become a counselor myself. Stopped maintaining my regular athletic routine from sports that kept me thin, and conversely maintained the appetite. I was long distance runner with scholarship, who broke my ankle my senior year of high school. I delayed joining the college team for 2 years, by then it was too late. I gained 50 LBS my freshman year and another 20 LBS the next year, and my thin athletic body has never been the same. I’ve gotten back close to runners weight 3 times in my life, but it didn’t last long. I have a voracious appetite set from youth devouring massive Carbs, and my metabolism is set differently than other. A 3 mile job doesn’t increase my metabolism at all, I have run hard for 6 miles daily to actually start my body to burn fat. I exercise all the time and use several tracking apps that confirm the bizarre phenomenon. If I had only kept running or biking while I was recovering from the ankle injury and watched my diet then, I would be an entirely different person now.

I think what you need is to learn how to calm down from high cortisol levels. Observe your breathing and breathe deeper when you notice your pulse getting higher. Breathing exercises are just one way to calm down though, there are many, look what works best for you.
I’m almost 30, and it hasn’t been an easy journey for a lot of people like me. I can’t tell you things will get better, but I can say that surviving is hard, and if you’re still here, then well done. If I could offer you any advice to make things less harsh, i highly recommend you do whatever it takes to make yourself truly and wholeheartedly happy. Some people help others, others learn stuff. Nobody masters something immediately, and true talent is a load of bull. If there’s something you’ve always wanted to learn but never started, START NOW. Bit by bit, every time you practice you get better. Even if you only practice 3 minutes a day, you’ll be surprised how much you’ve improved, because there was a time when you knew next to nothing. I bought a cheap-ass guitar and learned how to play it and sing. I still suck at it, but someday, I won’t. I can’t wait till that day comes, but for now, im just trying to suck less at it. If a moron like me can learn something new, i know you sure as hell can too.
I’m seriously going through a time where I’m not doing any work, but I don’t know how to start, people say I’m lazy and I’m finding multiple reasons in my head and blame something else, any tips on how to overcome this?
Right after waking up, make your bed, immediately. Stretch your muscles (just one good stretch), drink a cup of water. Now go on with your day. There is a reason making your bed is the first thing you do in the military, you'll start the day with a task complete, it's satisfying and gets you into the loop of getting other things done. Start off with that, it's a small but huge step. Just do this first before thinking any further.
Some: 1) try to adapt your learning to your daily life. Not the other way around. 2) try to divide the task in tiny more manageable pieces. In place of learning how to draw you can divide in how to hold the pencil, how to make lines with it in a efficient manner, etc. 3)Ask for help when you are kind of loss ,use reddit or discord and ask politely. 4) also if you are doing it for hobby always remember that you can pause and retake it whenever you want. The point of a hobby is to relax and improve at a comfortable pace after all.
Perhaps you're only afraid failing a task at your job. Or, you want to try something else. My advice is to force yourself a trial month and decide later if it makes you happy or not. Good luck!
I think it varies from person to person, but when I went through a similar problem it helped to just pick something you could finish in about a week or two (for me it was writing a five page story). It felt like torture to work on it for the first five days, but it became something that I woke up early to work on as I became passionate about it. It helped me to have tangible results at the end of my two weeks. Feel free to try writing a story, composing music, drawing, or something else. It might be bad, but it will serve as practice and proof to yourself that you can do this. Good luck
Try mindfulness and living in the moment. You are putting to much pressure on yourself about the job. It does not need to be a career, just something to do right now. Maybe work at a clothing store to get a discount toward an interviewing suit. Cook, if you like to eat it is a good skill to learn. Take a fun class, like comedy or painting. Spend time in nature. Go on a road trip and go camping. I have 2/degrees and if I could do it again I would have learned a trade. Plumber, electrician, you will always have a job. Join the military reserves.
Great video filled with nothing but facts and logic, not opinionated advice. I love it. Many people especially in my generation and even younger, get angry at the sight or mention of hard work and dedication. You actually can't say anything to them without them getting irritated no matter how polite you are being. That is, unless you are a UA-cam channel with millions of subs and lots of popular videos, THEN they will listen and maybe not grumble so much.
I do all of these already so this video made feel satisfied, my only regret was being too religious where I give more than ever before each time like preached and being told to slow down to love people which made me a people pleaser at times that I neglected my maintenance and costed me tons of money.

@@mooncosmicpower2956 yeah but in general, young people tend to spend in unnecessary stuff for the sake of spending money. That topic is about poor financial discipline and not about a specific situation. If you don't relate to this, it will relate to someone else. The one about not giving up on your dreams really spoke to me, especially cause the drawings there were about astronomy, and I hope to be an astrophysicist in some regard, yet I always feel like I have to be a literal genius, and have to know everything before even graduating high school. My mom says I’m putting way too much pressure on myself, and I don’t have to know anything I didn’t learn, though it doesn’t hurt to inquire. I’ve felt like giving up so many times, because even though my grades are very high, some people’s grades are higher, and I never feel like I’m enough. Anyway, thanks for listening!
With the first one, I’d say both extremes can be and are bad. You shouldn’t change yourself trying to appease everyone, but at the same time, you shouldn’t go around being toxic. Do what you can to appease others within reason.
I've been subscribed to Psych2Go since they've had around 1.7 million subs. Seeing them use more pop-culture references (e.g. Genshin, Among Us, Disney) to make the videos more accessible is very much welcome. @@three-leggeddog4705 Human connection, a best friend, lifelong partner, go on great adventures with others, etc. Covid ruined my college, graduation, didn't even get to hang with the few friends I had.
@@SourRobo8364 The time to make friends isn't over. Time isn't up until you're gone. While you may have missed graduation, there's other events in life to celebrate. I hope you meet someone special to share those moments with. 🤗

I hope I could help anyone who’s around my age (6-16 yrs) :)

Happiness is also pointless. Life is what you make it. Nothing is eternal is all in our perceptions.
We need mistakes and they should be counted as a blessing. Imagine going through life with no educational experiences. Your friendships and true love can be enjoyed because of what you've learned and how you've matured emotionally and socially. @@W0lfbaneShikaisc00l True. I didn't invest a penny until I was done with college for this very reason. This is something that many financial experts fail to shed light on.

Being a teen many people tell me to be myself, but God I don't even know what my actual self is ,so confusing.
I always think this too. I think the key is to just act on what you believe is what you should do and worry less about what others think
I took psychedelics recently, and it made me realise just how much of a people's pleaser I am. I always try to present the best version of myself to others. Thats just how ive always been I guess. I have a very positive outlook and attitude towards everything. Im really not a confrontational person, and even in situations where I'm being wronged or ridiculed, I will usually bottle those emotions to myself. One of my flatmates can be quite a dick sometimes. If you cant make an effort to show that you give a shit about me, why should i make an effort and pretend to give a shit about you? Anybody else feel the same? Like you give so much effort to be positive, only for people to take you for granted?
Basically they just want you to treat them right but they don't want to treat you back the same way. They basically want to be the boss / leader in that particular relationship.
Only put effort in people you think they are worth if you realize someone isnt you really don’t need to.
I'm 16 and planning on going to college, getting a degree in social work and or mental health counseling for this stuff. It was you guys that peaked my interest in the science of the human mind, and the fire in my heart to help those in need. This channel is so much to me, and I can't thank this team enough for all you've done for me.
The Genshin Characters displayed in this video and the title: 5 Mistakes Most Young people Make and Regret Later in Life, is more than enough for me to understand the message.
The two things I regret the most in life are touching myself for the first time and not making any lasting friends in middle school. I wanna be free of this pain
"Do you think having the newest things is a necesity or a luxury."
it's *B U L L S H I T*.
Whether is need or luxury will depend on the mindset of the person buying. Someone who like new things will call it a need. Someone who doesn't put importance in new things will call it luxury
If I had only kept running or biking while I was recovering from the ankle injury and watched my diet then, I would be an entirely different person now.
i think i really needed this. bc of quarantine, i think i've caught a habit of giving up too early and an incredibly long amount ofprocrastination and not being able to actually learn a subject. i'll work on myself, thank you for this ♡
@Space Flower no problem at all! i'm actually kinda glad and i feel kinda included (?) to know that someone else is going through the same. let's not give up!
Trust me, many Italians don't even know italian themselves
I was crying but your comment just made me laugh thank you haha
what really?
@@edgyhandmonster yes it’s true I’m Italian and I don’t even know my own language lol

why?
And if everyone could go back and fix the 'mistakes' they made when they were young... they wouldn't have many of the memories and funny stories they can reflect on now.
Boom! Agreed!
Life its decision, i always hates when it comes with 2 decision where it affect my future but i dont know if its great. When i choose option 1 and im somewhere end of the road to pick another decision, i looked back and realize option 2 might be better than what i choose in the past since i make sooo many mistakes in option 1. After that now realized they both will be the same just different experience
Depends.
@@Whopparhombus yup, its all decisions, the things that would change is your experiences, it wont make u happier or make your life better, what matters is what ur doing now

I really do love the Genshin Drawings!
I'm still really young, and this really helped me, even if it's just one thing.

Some:
1) try to adapt your learning to your daily life.

When you said "save money" I literally thought an ad is coming XD
I like how you associated this with Genshin Impact Characters, it made it more informative for me for some reason.
I do all of these already so this video made feel satisfied, my only regret was being too religious where I give more than ever before each time like preached and being told to slow down to love people which made me a people pleaser at times that I neglected my maintenance and costed me tons of money.
I must say, it was a great idea to illustrate this video with Genshin characters. I legit clicked for Jean in the preview :3
I feel like a lot these are black and white, everyone’s situation especially for finances is very different.
it’s hard to personalise a video meant to be watched by hundreds of thousands of people... i guess these things are meant to be a loose reference
@@bredstic9836 I didn’t say anything about personalizing, I’m just saying everyone’s situation is different, I didn’t hear anything about that. Kinda just came across like “regrets made in early life” when some of the points are well in my opinion invalid, like the setting money aside one, a lot of people have to pay their own tuition and manage there expenses outside of that. Nothing about personalization.
@@mooncosmicpower2956 yeah but in general, young people tend to spend in unnecessary stuff for the sake of spending money. That topic is about poor financial discipline and not about a specific situation. If you don't relate to this, it will relate to someone else. Some are able to put a little bit aside while others can't and that's fine because we don't all go through the same thing.
@@tunamayhoe define young, people in their thirsties are considered young. this is psych to go made for people of all ages. The video does not state any specific age demographic. I used the financial discipline as an example. I had an opinion you either like it or you don’t babe. Just like your opinion, I get it, I understand what you mean, hence my first comment stating “ I feel.”
@@tunamayhoe oh I totally relate to this, just not in the ways outlined in the video
As someone who tries to please everyone I can indeed confirm that many people have been thoroughly pleased😉
2:45 I heard a quote that was something along the lines of:
"I have not failed. I have simply found a thousand ways that don't work"
2:50 - "They don't continue learning and they don't invest invest in themselves." Investments are doubly important.
Invest in yourself. It pays the greatest return.
Ive made all of these mistakes. For many people id say its inevitable. The true mistake would be to continue making them
With the first one, I’d say both extremes can be and are bad.
Thank you for giving great life advice and for making adorable drawings. You all are the best.
