Hi, I Just found your video and its really helping me. I just wondering what is your export setting on imovie? I'm using same camera like yours, edit my video in Imovie using macbook pro 2020 but my video quality on youtube is low and always blurry. I asked other people to watch my videos and they also said its blurry unless they changed the resolution to the highest (1080p). please help me out with this problem ;(
Great information, no you don't talk too fast some people are just slow or don't know how to pause or rewind. Thanks for explaining manual mode options.
Haha yes I'm sure it would bother some who aren't used to the 'UA-cam' talking style but I personally would rather pause and replay videos than have to skip ahead to get to the info 😁
I have the G7X Mark II and LOVE it. I used to tote around a large DSLR, and can’t believe I never considered one of these. I did some looking, and it doesn’t look like the Mark iii was announced at CES. If it was, they did not do a good job...as I cannot find it anywhere. Would be nice to see a mic jack, but other than that, I am not sure what they could add to make it better. I am not really looking to shoot in 4K, but I would sure take some 1080p 120fps action on here! The Sony RX100 Mark VI has it, but I don’t think it looks as good as the Canon would. I SO prefer Canon’s color science. Anyway, great video. Subbed. Let me know if you know anything about the mark iii!

I have a google alert set for the keyword ☺️ I don’t know what they’ll improve on it, but my reason for needing it ASAP is simply the fact my MKII is broken lol.. and oh yes 120fps would be so awesome! This was so helpful. I have just purchased this camera and was wondering if anyone else has noticed a clicking sound, i think it comes from the auto focus. i hear it a lot when in situations with low background noise.
I hate how the display screen is not the best quality and I always think it was a horrible shot but when I import it into my computer it is literally PERFECT!
Yep! Us video people have to remember that most camera settings are intended for photo- and the manual mode on the top dial is mostly referring to that. Good luck with the new technique! 😄
This was an excellent overview for vlogging!! Just picked mine up a couple days ago and am loving it so far although the audio quality isn't the greatest. Wish it had a mic jack lol

nice video, I tried the IS too high and it doesn't work well. the best was low. the trick in manual I've learnt is to continuously change the iso if walk in the night. I'll be posting a video soon on the same settings with a video shoot. enjoyed watching. thanks.

@@uaeskils I don't really find it that bad and I've used the camera for vlogging for a few times now. The only thing worrying me is vlogging when it's windy, I heard the sound becomes very unclear but I hope I can manage that in the future if I need to.

I have just got this camera, I'm not sure if mine is faulty or I don't have it on the right settings as whenever I record there is a constant loud noise in the background like a buzzing/wind sound even though I'm in a room with no other sound! wondered if you experienced this problem x
In camera noise can definitely be a problem on this camera, but mainly it should come from when the camera is searching for focus, or if the camera is actively zooming. Try to keep the focus locked on your face if you are vlogging, and don't let it hunt around for focus when you are talking. It sucks the G7x doesn't have an external audio input so you just kind of have to work around it. In fact I will likely do a video about this very problem soon!

I am still having trouble getting the background blurred as in the shots with Ella that you shared. Does that only work when shooting a video? I am trying to practice taking portraits. Thank you.
Beatris G Nope it should work just the same in photos. Try backing up and then zooming the camera in. Also, make sure you have a good bit of distance between the subject and the background.. and of course, always keep that aperture at 1.8. Let me know if that helps!
Hi Alicia! For self timer shots, every time I set the timer for 10seconds, and then run to the camera, its never focused on my face? Is it a certain mode/setting I haven't fixed? Thank you!
For the most part yes! I recommend them for any camera shooting video. You can watch my similar video on the Canon M50 and see that it's 90% the same, and that's a completely different camera :)

Yay! So glad you learned something super useful. Your footage will be SO different when you utilize the 1.8 aperture. And yes, slow motion is a tricky thing. It will have massive stutter if not shot at the correct frame rate and shutter speed. It's pretty simple to set up tho, just watch this video. Sure! Just put it in M mode since you’re not shooting video. If you take them outside, try to find a shaded spot. Bright sunlight is never flattering and the camera can get bright enough to make it look bright but nice and even in the shade. Find a spot to do some test shots before actual prom night.. whether it’s outside or in.. and good luck!

Haha yep! The display screen isn't going to look nearly as nice. You'll learn to trust it :)

Yes definitely! The general idea is exactly the same. The Mk III does not have the face ID settings though so don't worry about that part.

It will have massive stutter if not shot at the correct frame rate and shutter speed. It's pretty simple to set up tho, just watch this video. @@AMAETV I just feel though that the quality isn't perfect. Even with that. Any other tips? Started shooting 24fos and I really like the image it gives, but still, something is not perfect

Sure! Just put it in M mode since you’re not shooting video. If you take them outside, try to find a shaded spot. Bright sunlight is never flattering and the camera can get bright enough to make it look bright but nice and even in the shade. Find a spot to do some test shots before actual prom night.. whether it’s outside or in.. and good luck!
