To identify whether a transaction is suspicious and requires an SAR, it's essential to understand the typical patterns and red flags associated with money laundering and other financial crimes. Keep in mind that every case is different, and there's no one-size-fits-all approach. A strong understanding of your customer's profile, transaction history, and expected behaviour can help you identify any unusual or suspicious activities. If you come across a transaction or a pattern of transactions that seem inconsistent with your customer's profile or typical behaviour, it may warrant further investigation and potentially filing a SAR.
