1:21 My favorite memory from the whole game is when March starts playing while you’re defending the PVD Hope from the Shivan bombers, It’s just so fitting. The Freespace games have a fantastically fitting soundtrack.
I'm still baffled as to how you got "Marauder" and "Strike" in such high quality, I only have the game rips. Daniel Wentz is a genius of a composer. Anyone who wants to compose music for any video game should study what Mr. Wentz did with Freespace, his music sets the standard for intense, yet immersive music.
I actually used the Freespace 2 version of Marauder, as there was a high quality version for that. As for Strike, that's still the version ripped from the game. As for Daniel Wentz, I agree, he does know how to set the atmosphere in a game, the Freespace series being prime examples
Daniel Wentz has most of the Freespace OST on Soundcloud. Thee's some minor differences but the quality is so much better. soundcloud.com/daniel-wentz/freespace-mission-8-strike
I remember the first time I got to play Freespace solo (first time I played it was me pressing the fire button while my dad was doing the rest) I made it to Playing Judas and I was beyond terrified at the prospect of being sent alone. That’s also the first time that I heard “Spook”. I was so scared of using my afterburners thinking they would spot me if I did. As ships jumped in I heard the music pick up and I quit the game before I even got close to the jump node - didnt make progress until years later I picked up Freespace 2 on Steam and got Knossos Horror games may get the drop of me but no fear stuck with me like Playing Judas. Thank you Freespace, very cool

Thank you for providing these high quality tracks.

I should rip the files from my copy of the game then. Thanks!

When you say you used the Freespace 2 version of Marauder, did you mean from the FS2 OST or a mod someone made on HL Productions?

indeed one of the best in history top 20 hurts that the two was a commercial failure
Would say the same for its Star Wars Legends contemporary X-Wing Alliance. Gods, those games really needed expansion packs, even.
It's odd how Marauder made it straight into FS2, sounds almost like he was making fs2 tracks at the time and out this one in xD
