Drova! What an amazing gem of game. The isometic view with rpg/gothic game play really works. I really hope more people play it and it inspires more gothic style games.
Alex seems like a nice bloke, been seeing some of SwitchCorners videos here and there. Some of these are actually games I've never heard of, so really nice to see these being talked about and shedding light on some of them.
Mentioning Morrowind during Drova made me check it out even further. And get well soon, Glen! It sucks to be sick in the most festive time of the year.
Oh man, poor Glen, so sorry for him but hey, hello Alex! Good to know you like Crow Country too! 😊 Thank you Switchup, for being here tonight despite the difficulties ❤
Hope Glen's recovering well, everywhere's full of sickness at this time of year. Love knowing that my 2 favourite Switch channels just chat with each other, it's like finding Spiderman and Batman sharing a pot of tea.
I love how you guys didnt have to make nintendo happy to have a channel its really heartwarming to see the third party switch devs and stuff coming in and saving the day. Hopefully this is a sign of the world coming to a better place soon. Hopefully things like this is a step towards taking youtube back to the great platform it used to be!!!!
Great to hear Alex’s expertise on some of these games. Between the 3 of you, you can probably cover pretty much every genre comprehensively. It’s a joy to hear you guys talk about games.
Then how the gamers loved him (loved him), As they shouted out with glee (yipee), Mark said "Alex from Switch Corner, You saved Christmas brilliantly!"
You guys really make me laugh, i like banther alot! It was nice to see the colab with Alex, i blame both your channels for my huge backlog... And also thanks for letting me know about Drova, i got Diablo vibes from the video, i think im going to treat my self for the new year with that one.
So I am one of the 4 people that DID play HONG KONG MASSACRE upon release but that doesn't stop me from agreeing that it's a hidden gem! Highly recommended for Hotline Miami fans, especially at the deep discount it receives.
It was so cool having Switchcorner on! When I ordered my Switch Lite during the start of Covid, I subbed to both channels and binge watched to find out what the best games were to play on my new console. Safe to say, you guys introduced me to some of the best games I've ever played :)
Man, I love the 12 days of Switch up, both for the insightful reflections on the year but really for Mark and Glen being in the same room so much. Always gold. Also I absolutely need to make time to play Drova. It looks so good.
The outtakes had us all rolling with laughter! Thank you for not cutting them all out and allowing us to be a part of that time. 😊 I truly hope Mark is getting better and is taking time to rest. Take care of yourself guys! Love the series but not at the cost of your health.
So cool to have Alex guesting in Glens wake, although he doesn’t get the giggles - serious stuff! Pepper Grinder looks good though it’s really just made from the same game mechanics introduced into the latter part of Ori and the will of the wisp.
Hé Fun collaboration with Alex! And get well Glen! But glad to see your happy banter in the vid. You and Alex both have shown and talked about 'Another Crab's Treasure', and I am interested to experience this shell-swapping-souls-like underwater gem (Which you have dug up with your "hands" 😁🙌)
I'd enjoy that. It's not a genre that I've been into lately, with everything else that I've been up to, but I have fond memories of point and click games.
Thank you Mark and Glen for all your great work! Thank you Untold Tales for sponsoring the whole series! I actually have quiet a few of their games! And thank you Alex! Switch Corner is also a great Channel!
On the 9th day of Switchmas my true love gave to me; 9 Sols slashing, 8 Go karts racing, 7 Koopa children, 6 Poké battles, 5 Kurok seeds, 4 Xenoblades, 3 Umbral witches, 2 Octopaths, And a Mario Party Jamboree
Hyper light drifter is an indie I barely hear any one talk about and it's a crime, because it's just so good. It's easily still my favorite indie since the day it launched to this very day. Top down action game that every area looks like you can just take a screen shot print it onto a big canvas and hang it as s painting. It's pretty challenging and the music is amazing. I hope more people play it, I don't even care where. Switch, PC, PS4/5, Xbox! Just play hyper light drifter somewhere.
Hyper Light Drifter is still my favorite indie as well. It's true people don't talk about it that much anymore but there was a big hype about it when it came out. The developer had a lot of success with it.
You're faces aren't even close to what I thought they'd be after watching your channel for so long only hearing you guys 😅 thanks for all the entertainment that's gotten me through my work breaks.
Firstly, i hope you get well soon Glen, always sucks getting sick at Christmas. Secondly, I flipping love hidden gems. There is something so satisfying not just playing good games that very few (compared to main stream games) but being able to recommend them to people and getting their amazed reaction 😅. Saying that, I just added Astlibra Revision, looks amazing and there is no way I would have found this little beauty. Cheers gents.
Lovely work Alex stepping in! Will be checking your channel out for sure! Hong Kong massacre is a saveloy hidden gem indeed good sirs!! And love you got broken sword on here!
I bought a load of hidden gems this year thanks to you guys. I was a first party guy before I started watching your content. Just lately I've been nailing Neon Abyss.
Poor Glen get better in time for the big day, well done Alex for stepping in. Pleased to see Imagine Earth among your hidden gems, if you enjoy strategy games you won't be disappointed.
Great to see (hear) Alex here in the SwitchUp corner. 😁👍🏼 Wishing Glen the best, hope he gets well soon! Until then, this is a great collaboration of two of my favourite Switch channels here.
The two Switch channels that I watch SwithUp and Switch Corner coming together in a Christmas mashup! I don’t recall you guys appearing in content together before. Such synergy 😂
It's a hidden gem if not everyone has played them, tetris or pong can be hidden gems to someone. Highlighting them means that someone to whom one of these is exactly what they might need so thank you SwitchUp for doing so. Cheers gents 🎉 Hope Glen feels better soon. Take care everyone 🙏🏻
Great video. Love the collaboration. You guys seem like someone I could definitely kick back and relax with and have a few beers while talking about life. Of course also talk a lot of gaming and The good old days.
Hi Alex from SwitchCorner 👋🏻 I know you! Get well soon Glen x Hidden gems are one of my favourite topics to discuss, it's just a shame people always have to argue over whether it's obscure enough. Hong Kong Massacre was a great place to start!
Oh the chat about classics such as Secret of Monkey Island and Grim Fandango on my Amiga had a wee tear in my eye! I remember those password keys and having to sneakily read Gamesmaster magazine cheats section to figure out how to make Grog!
Thank you guys for another great episode! Ashamed to say most of today mentioned games are sitting in my wish list, but if not for you, I would probably not notice some of those gems.
I hope Glen feels better soon, but a consolation prize of a mash up of my two favorite switch UA-cam channels can’t be complained about! Drova looks a bit intimidating but also intriguing, I may need to check it out.
Hopefully Glenn will be back on form soon, was good to get Alex's thoughts and great of him to step in, another cracking video, although this is the first video in this series where I haven't picked up a game haha see you on the next one
I'm playing Astlibra right now, and I'm absolutely loving it. Every time I feel like it's going the way I'm expecting, it continues to surprise with every turn.
Another Crab’s Treasure had me grinning ear to ear! Same goes for Cat Quest III, another humorous maritime adventure that flew under the radar this year. Highly recommend!!
I was just thinking "Yeah! Broken Sword!... I haven't played that since the 90s" Then you mentioned the GOAT and I thought "yeah... THAT'S WHY"... Fair play to Alex for stepping in... great work
Not from this year and not sure if it’s considered a hidden gem but…I’m playing VA-11 HALL-A at the moment and loving it! Great stuff to get Alex to fill in - I’m a fan of both channels ☺️
I wonder if the game Alex was talking about during Penny's Big Breakaway was Bakeru. I have yet to play it, but it has that 3D aesthetic, very much like Penny, and is also reminiscent of Ganbare Goemon. Personally, I would say that Bakeru has all the signs of a hidden gem as well.
I was surprised by how much I loved Astlibra and its spin-off. The ending of Gaiden (and thus the duology) was one of the most satisfying I've seen in years-which was only fair given its ridiculous difficulty, but still.
Another Crab's Treasure has been on my wishlist since I watched your video and have been eagerly waiting for a patch. Whilst I'm glad to hear it's got a supposed update, looking through Reddit it seems only the early game is fixed and it goes downhill again? The only Switch reviews I trust are yours and I would LOVE an All Patched Up for it! Hopefully soon to come :)
It's definitely interesting having the cross over and hearing Alex's views on some of the games too; I hope Glen feels better soon! I'll be that guy saying is Another Crab's Treasure a hidden gem? I still haven't played it but it's been on my radar for a while -- to be fair, ya'll have talked about it and most of these games before, so that's probably the only reason I know about it.
It can be tough and always feel like a bummer when you have to rest up, rather than continuing with plans, but it’s always better to look after yourself ❤ I hope you feel better soon Glen, and that you and Mark will have recovered enough to participate when it’s time for the Holiday Celebrations /gen🎄😌
Another mention of Drova. Feels like the backlog boss is telling me something. . . Tip of the cap to Glen for all his done for this series while feeling under the weather. Heal up and come back to us at the turn of the tide.
I am loving the case of the giggles you guys have at the start of this one! How long had you been filming intros/outros by this point? 😂 hope you feel better in time for Xmas Glen.
Feel better soon Glen! But danggggg the collab we need: SwitchUp x Switch Corner! Low key I was shading on Pizza Tower and Another Crab's Tale when I saw them on the Directs but now I have them on my backlog list after watching the reviews! I guess you shouldnt judge a game by it's Direct feature lol

I have to agree
I think half of the time Glen isn't even trying to make Mark laugh but his entire presence makes Mark all giggly and it's hilarious 😂
He’s a funny bloke fair play to him! Mark
Entertaining for sure
Oh no Glen got run over by a reindeer! I hope he has a speedy recovery. Such a treat getting a double dose of Alex from Switch Corner today
🦌🚫
Mark, I LOVE your sweater! Well yours too, Glen, but Mark's hits the nail on the head. Happy birthday, Jesus!

Such a calming voice too!
Same, I didn't actually know Grid was so in depth AND a good port...or that arcade racing game even existed either.
Mentioning Morrowind during Drova made me check it out even further.
And get well soon, Glen! It sucks to be sick in the most festive time of the year.
Oh man, poor Glen, so sorry for him but hey, hello Alex! Good to know you like Crow Country too! 😊

"Angelo and demun" and "Truberbrook" the best hidden gems I've played this year. Wig, glasses, catchphrase. Brilliant.
@@martinzies2874 good shout.

Great to hear Alex’s expertise on some of these games. Between the 3 of you, you can probably cover pretty much every genre comprehensively. It’s a joy to hear you guys talk about games.
