That writing below the "Pasar Beringharjo" writing is actually not Sanskrit but rather its rendition in the Javanese Script (same ancestor as Thai and Cambodian script). It's still being taught in school in Central and Eastern Java, although the odds of you finding someone who can read the script fluently nowadays is not so high, as Javanese language now is more commonly written using the Latin Alphabet.
@@ririnsetyorini2928 there is kawi script, palawa and hanacaraka script. The root of which is sanskrit. Slavic languages are also sankrit. The vedas are stories from every corner of the "hindu" lands (frpm persia all the way to indonesia) they were written down for the first time in the indus valley civilisation. 🙏🏼
11:51 That one looks great. 17:15 A good buy! 🤩 19:01 Can't believe my ears when Steve said he was craving for Sarawak laksa (come back and visit again)! Es jeruk is refreshing especially in a tropical country. I better get me some dinner. You guys are making me hungry! 21:47 Steve, Indonesia is massive... Even a tiny place like my home State I still have many places I haven't visited and some local dishes I haven't tried. Let alone Indonesia which has many islands and tons of different cultures and cuisine.
Such an action packed massive and clean "mallket" 😂😀 That batik shirt looks absolutely beautiful, nice colour. A good choice and you look extra handsome with that shirt, Steve. What a vintage noodle shop. The noodles look quite similar to "kon loh mee" of Peninsular Malaysia. Wow, it's so yummy/enak that Steve goes for his 2nd helping 👍👍😀
That noodle dish made me switch from my usual Sarawak Laksa to ordering chicken and mushroom mee pok. The oil on the noodles is flavourful. Tasty! Nice batik shirt. It's a common traditional colour. I would choose the blue one instead. Nice Indonesia vlog.
Yam Mie (醃麵) means pickled or marinated noodles. It's a popular dish by the mountain dwelling Hakka Chinese that needed to find ingenious methods to increase shelf life of foods while living in areas with less than optimal resources. That's why many Hakka dishes are pickled, salted, or preserved. The coating that you felt in the noodles would usually be pork and sesame oil, but since you said the place is halal, the pork oil must be substituted with something else. Not sure. But I recommend you two to try the original, non-halal version.
Yeah, it's a good point. I will say, the one we tried in the video was incredible flavorful. Like, really delicious. So, whatever he replaced the pork oil with, was still something rich and delicious. We really recommend this restaurant! Although we are still interested in trying to original version too :)
19:00 You can try ask for it if you guys got to Kalimantan. West Kalimantan to be precise. They probably have it or something similar to it, or maybe it has different name. Last time I went there, I didn't ask for it though, because I wanna try some local Indonesian dish. 😅 But they do have Bubur Pedas(Spicy/Herb Porridge) which is same dish in Sarawak, except the colour is more green where in Sarawak it's brown colour. 19:33 Aye, agreed on ya, lad. 100%
High appreciate for this video! I like your sincere & your spirit John! Or, whatever your name..... 😁 Add: Btw, we live in the same distric: Kebayoran Lama. Salam anak Jaxel. 😂😂😂😂
Imo batik is for when you wanna to be stand out from other people.... And late 90s to early 20s hawaii shirt is super famous lol... Everyone have it...

The name of the scipt is - Hånåcåråkå, (pron. Ho no cho ro ko)
Tapi ha na ca ra ka ini turunan dari tulisan sankrit kan bang sama seperti thai dan kemboja
@@HULK_CORE takder macam tu. Sanskrit is a language, not a script.
Palawa alphabet.

That batik market and mall looks like Zainab Market in Karachi. Same narrow lane and expanded shops.

Heehee, I feel very fancy wearing batik in countries where people don't know what it is. Looks like a very flamboyant dress shirt to them I think
@@JetLagWarriors 😁Indeed~ very flamboyant. 😁
And one more thing that market is very clean big up .
Batik shirt looking cool 👍🏼
