Wow thanks for the very interesting vid. And both of you look good in the traditional clothes. Oo i love emping never get enough of it.. Just found out few weeks ago, the young shoots from the belinjo tree can be eaten. And its delicious.
From all the youtube videos showcasing foreigners tasting Indonesian cuisine, I notice that most don't like Emping, especially because they weren't expecting the bitter flavor slipping in during or after the savory part. It's great that you actually like it. Emping is commonly eaten either as a snack, or an additional topping for many cuisines. Besides kerupuk udang (shrimp crackers) and kerupuk bawang (onion crackers), Emping is also Nasi Goreng's bestie lol. It also goes well with a wide range of Indonesian dishes, not just Javanese ones. That emping you ate is of regular size. In some marketplaces, you could even find huge ones, even bigger than your palm, and there is also a 'mini-emping' variety which is small, thick, and sweet. The most common emping in Indonesia is probably the Emping Melinjo as seen in this video. It's so common that people would always say 'Emping' without mentioning the 'Melinjo' . Actually there are other Empings made from different ingredients, such as Emping Jengkol (Dogfruit). Anyway, despite its delicious taste, emping is also notorious for increasing uric acid levels due to its high purine content, so be careful not to eat it too much lol.
Absolutely wow, you both look gorgeous in that Yogja outfits. Steve looks more like a Samurai 😀😄🤓 Such nice poses from sweet lovely lvana when she's in her 20s and is still very sweet now. Lucky Steve to have her as your sweetheart. Amazing horse ride indeed strolling in those villages....love the vibes there. Interesting emping lesson and visit to a traditional tofu factory. History teacher Steve with his forever interesting History lesson again. Thanks for the narration, Steve. You are the best !!! Shout-out to the tour guide for a job well done 👍👍 Great content and great video again. "Ma kasih ya"
I have never seen such a fun video like yours! I would love it if you also tell us where you can book this tour and how much does it cost but this one is really fun!
Hi guys 👋🏻 wow you both look like in a movie set so gorgeous with the Jogja Javanese traditional outfit 👍 awesome ride there 'the endong' the name is different than the one I rode in Bukit Tinggi , Padang. Omg..I love the cracker we called it 'keropok belinjau' or 'melinjau' there's slightly bitter after taste yet super super delicious. Once you try , you can't stop eating till finished 🤣 difficult to get if you live in the city and quite pricey too. I can imagine the sourish vinegar smell like 😅 in that beancurd factory never tried eating it raw and I'm quite surprised it tastes yummy probably it's really fresh 👍 Amazing structure of the temple 😱wow so beautiful located across the paddy field and the green grass 👍 you guys look really awesome with the old antique temple at the background 👍🥰😘
Mmm, melinjo is one of my favourite snack and after watching this, I've to get my wife to fry some. Good thing that we can easily buy this in Malaysia though I'm not sure if it's grown here.
About Borobudur, this magnificent temple is not part of Yogyakarta. It is located in Magelang region, which is part of Central Java province. People, including many Indonesians, often get this wrong as Magelang is very close to Yogyakarta, and many Yogya tour packages would include a visit to Borobudur.
Actually in Malaysia.., we eat the young Belinjar’s leave . Cook them as masak lemak or ulam or fry them with chilies I used to eat the Roasters belinjar bean or just booked them with a little bit of salt Btw when is your wedding?? Can’t wait
the ones you use are traditional fashion, but now it's different just clay women there and on average what the clothes they use are similar to the Middle East woman are no longer like the traditional Javanese woman

Actually... the first thing that I would think of when someone mentions "Jogjakarta/Yogyakarta" is "Universitas Gadjah Mada". 😄
