Saw them for the first time in L.A. Whiskey 1976. Bruce Gary was one of the fastest drummers out there and impeccably well timed. Great band, RIP Bruce and Doug.
I've never heard a band sound as close to their recorded music as The Knack. I read somewhere that it was simply because they recorded the songs the exact same way they had been performing them in the clubs. It's great to see a band that meets/exceeds your expectations.
I saw this band in the summer of 1987 at the catalyst in Santa Cruz Northern California!! And by the way the original lineup was at the catalyst at that time!!! Rest in peace Bruce and the lead singer!
Abs luv this song If u read Dougs explanation of the " creepy " lyrics it makes sense Never gets old Makes me long for my youth Stil gets my motor running ❤️
What a great live tune. They could have turned Fieger's guitar up, especially during the solo. Flawless performance. Underrated band. Great lead guitar.
Make sure you hear it with the guitar riffs, because their timing is always the same as the original recording. If you listen to this for the first time, you'll see what you missed in the 70's. Although this song hit it big in very early 1980, but the 70's had it all music wise. Ask your Momma. Love to all of you. Nothing but good health and happiness.(3 more great riffs, Come and get your love( with the Native Dance in the beginning), Smoke on the Water, Indian reservation(Paul Revere and the Raiders)
Betts must have been inspired in his turn by some Scotsman's piper, because parts of those progressions are from Scottish traditional pieces for bagpipes.
the song more honestly ... sexually speaking....cheerful you can write to a girlfriend...i always thought of Doug Fieger looked like someone and after doing the swirling,,, walk to the guitarist from the who....besides having a look something Beatles.....this song will be at my funeral
I was 15 when this song came out.
I feel bad for todays kids with the crap they have to listen to. This song blew my socks off!

R.I.P. Doug Fieger and Bruce Gary.

I was at this show. It was recorded at Radio Bremen studio in Bremen Germany. We sat in the front row.
Duuuude!!!! Y U lyin'?
@@gulfmarine8857 We sat at a table to the right of the stage. I was in the Air Force stationed in Bremerhaven Germany at the time.
@@robertmuphy152 Just too cool. Unbelievable...in my jealous, jealous mind.
Wow, that must have been amazing! They were an amazing band!!

I read that the studio producer didn't have that much to do. The Knack was so well prepared and rehearsed, all he had to do was hit the record button.
Seriously good drummer!!! RIP
Der beste Song , höre ihn den ganzen Tag. Da bekommt mann gute Laune. Klasse
Erano i miei 20 anni quando ballavo my sharona in discoteca! Che tempi!!!
Killer solo 🎸

Lo máximo de los años 80
We love you Doug
Now that's a great performance
Best all- time lead ever and the camera man screws it up.
Director. He might have been the boyfriend of the drummer with all the camera time during the lead guitar solo. Just a theory.
Maybe they did that on purpose, so as not to give away the guitar playing of the solo to others. They wanted to protect it at some level.
Cameramen know what they're doing. It was the lead production, editing at the broadcast control room who wasn't listening, nor even looking
❤

Hey, did I miss this one. Leonel Messi grew up and started a band.😅
What a great live tune. They could have turned Fieger's guitar up, especially during the solo.

Berton Averre on guitar!
dougfieger,you are amazing
The Knack ............... PERÚ !
Another cameraman who didn't know who was playing what, so missed most of Berton's Dickie Betts inspired break. Great performance though.

The singer's brother is a high-powered elite lawyer.

Doug looks like a cross of Keith Moon mixed with Paul Simon.
Also a bit of Pete Townshend.

I feel like I'm 14 and in the audience🥴🥴🇺🇦💛💙
Did you see Sharona bouncing in the audience? If not look again
Yes
The guitar solo is really tasty. Burton Averre? Sounds like a cross between Dickie Betts and Jimmy Page.

Camera man sucks big time😡😡😡😡
One hit wonder band.
If you have a hit as good qs this, who cares! What a song qnd what a band!
Just my opinion, but this wasn't even the best song on the album when it came out.
ME gustan más. Los VIEJOS..
