These guys were monster musicians! Berton always freakin' amazes me, his disciplined yet expressive rhythm playing cut with perfect little lead riffs, clean energetic blisteringly precise and fast....can't get enough.
The fill between second rack tom and hi-hat at 0:50--a little tasty deviation from the studio recording. This song is one of my all-time drumming faves. So happy to have found a live recording, (the mix is a bit flat) if only to watch what Bruce Gary is playing throughout--and it's still incomprehensible.
Way underrated band! Everyone kills it! I gotta agree with the comments about the drum. Bruce Gary...Wow! Keep in mind this is without ProTools or computer enhanced edits.
As a drummer, this song always amazed me. I never took the time, nor do I know if I could, to learn the part. I have never heard any band cover this live, has anyone else? I'd love to see a video of it if so.
I’m not a drummer, so it tells me something when a drummer thinks the way I’m thinking...that I maybe know about drummers. Lol. I always show this as an example of how Bruce Gary kicked ass. And that The Knack was more than just one song.
Pretty weird lyrics of this tune. Great melody and live presentation. Fieger is underrated as a vocalist, and he and Averre harmonized really well. Tight band overall. Hope they enjoyed their time in the sun. Good memories of '79!
So badass! What killer drumming from Bruce Gary. So tasty and difficult all in one especially the part in the bridge. Wow! RIP Doug Fieger & Bruce Gary. Gone way too soon.
I know I'm dating myself, but Get The Knack was the first album I bought new at a record store. Bought it for My Sharona, but then wore it out listening to the rest of it. Always loved this one most, but revisiting it now many, many years later, I'm really impressed with the composition and musicianship, especially Bruce Gary. Guy sounds like he's got four hands!
This song has a disaster going on it it....did anyone notice that Doug's guitar was dead and had to be replaced mid-song? He didn't miss a beat. As someone who has played music live, this is something that kills a live set. Not with The Knack. Wow. Total professionals!
I could watch Bruce Gary play this tune over and over!!
And I have!!😊
I've fallen in luv with The Knack again. Outstanding!
Back in the day when drummers would make the live version more interesting and intense!
Bruce Gary is tough.
B.Gary is hot.
There are some drummers who still do that-just not as many. Bruce was amazing.

Killin! RIP Doug Fieger & Bruce Gary! Gone way too soon....

This song is what put Bruce in my top 5 list for drummers. So missed.

What a great song😉
Binge watching the knack. Dec 2021 wishing I could go back when I had the knack in 79
Bruce Gary was a fuckin' beast!!! Look at that ride and hihat groove....

Alan Myers of DEVO was about this good, if you watch videos of them from '77 through '82.
@@PeachWNK the most underrated band of the last forty years or so I'd say. They have always been one of my favorites for rock
Bruce was a powerhouse. And Doug got his guitar back JUST in time for Burton's solo.

Great Guitar 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
Wish this brother was much longer... passed on too young
So badass! What killer drumming from Bruce Gary. So tasty and difficult all in one especially the part in the bridge. Wow! RIP Doug Fieger & Bruce Gary. Gone way too soon.
That drum fill at 0:50 took my head off...wow...
Those were good times. With a great band!
So freakin' tight playing live.
One of their best songs got no airplay. Great rockin' number & lyrics

Bruce Gary was the real deal. Playing with Jack Bruce is instant cred.
Perfection.
Tight af!
great!!!
This song actually has literary origins in that it was inspired by the short story "The Petition" from Lost in the Funhouse by John Barth.
tight as a drum...
F^&$ yeah!
THE KNACK
Wow, did not realize this song before, about a "SIAMESE" brother on your back...Shit's on my back, Zit's on my back, Piss on my back"...
It IS actually "sits on my back, shits on my back, piss on my back."
Here Bruce gary is a genius
Everywhere. Check out Shredder by The Malibooz RIP
Perverse is right!
