Axl in his prime was a force of nature, so sad that he damaged his vocal cords so badly.
But still, lucky are those that had the chance to witness GnR live between 1987 and 1993.

GNR Was The Biggest Rock Band in Late 80'S, GNR Won The MTV Video Music Award (VMA), Since 1989,1990,1992,1993. Beating U2 Albums, Metallica Albums, And Nirvana Albums in The MTV Music Video Award. Then GNR Vacuum in The Middle Of 1993, Then Came The Famous Alternative Bands, Such As: Nirvana, Pearl jam, And SmashingPumpkins. Nirvana is Famous For Entering The Same Music Recording Studio As GNR, Namely Universal Studio Music, Through The Album Nevermind. Even though Previously Nirvana Was Not Famous at The Time, When They Were Still in Their Indipop Music Studio. The Famous Alternative Music Band From 1993-1995. Then GNR Held A Reunion At Troubadour in L.A. And The Coachella Music Festival in 2006. Many Hollywood Artists Came, Watched The GNR Reunion, Because Everyone Missed The Band GNR Rock Music, Because The Music GNR Was Very Nice To Hear. I Loved The Band GNR. The whistling is “When Johnny Comes Marching Home” a popular American civil war era song in the 1860s “that expressed people's longing for the return of their friends and relatives who were fighting in the war.”
The spoken word he does at the end:
“We practice selective annihilation of mayors and government officials. For example, to create a vacuum. Then we fill that vacuum. As popular war advances. Peace is closer…”
is a member communist guerrilla organization called the Shining Path that waged a terror campaign in Peru in the 1980s-90s. “Popular war” also called called protracted people's war, is a Maoist military strategy. First developed by the Chinese communist revolutionary leader Mao Zedong in the 1940s. “the basic concept behind people's war is to maintain the support of the population and draw the enemy deep into the countryside (stretching their supply lines) where the population will bleed them dry through a mix of mobile warfare and guerrilla warfare…”
This Maoist strategy was used against the US in Vietnam (1960s) and in Iraq & Afghanistan (2001-2022).

I saw them in their prime with Metallica...let me just say it was 92' and Metallica was 🔥 a lot of people left about 10k then Axl through a tissy fit, stopped in the middle of I think November rain, didn't finish and was screaming profanity at fans...more left. He changed outfits a lot! But they were excellent, even though he was a prima Donna. Btw Metallica was on stage 2 and a half hrs and killed it, James Hetfield had burned half of his body on stage weeks before, so he couldn't play but he sang his ass off, and they killed it!! I'd seen both since 83' and the 80's at smaller venues, Whiskey a go go, Trubadour, and downtown Hollywood. And bigger venues! I've been blessed for sure...since I was 15yrs old sneaking into bars/clubs. My youth was awesome! 🫶🤘🎸🎼❤️

That's why it's so irrelevant when ppl talk crap about Axl, they have no idea what an unique and out of this world Axl Rose is.
Listen to him sing here, pay attention that he's not just screaming, really pay attention to his screaming and watch the tune and the richness that it bring, then add the raw honesty and emotion that he brings to his singing.
For me the best performer ever.

What almost no one knows is that Guns Roses was not only a great Rock band, but also the best in the history of Rock. The rock scene before Guns Roses emerged was known as Hard rock full of bon jovi, poison, van halem, motlrey crue, when Guns Roses appeared with Apetite For Destruction they set a standard for Hard rock in a row, since then several bands, due to the efficiency of their managers, had to reinvent themselves in the case of Aeroismith, Bon Jovi, many others lost space like Montley Crue, Poison, Van Halen. Axl wanted to release 4 albums on Use your Ilusion, but Gef didn't accept. Axl is the greatest lyricist in the history of Rock, coming from a poor and suffering life, but his talents were hidden, what would slash be without Axl and Axl without slash? For example, Slash wrote songs like this and Axl wrote the lyrics, if they hadn't known each other this sound wouldn't exist. I'm Brazilian at 14 years old and I spent all day listening to pirated cassettes because I didn't have money to buy vinyl.
