@@redpine8665 even back when Mr Greene came here it was just as bad as now. The difference is then they knew to keep things private and where the line they couldn't cross was. Now it's inflated ego's thinking they're talking to the rabble.
Lorne Green sums it all up. The levels of morality responsibility and sense of being human is unbelievable. I think every episode has an invaluable lesson on life. Respect for life, the law and the environment was very high on their agenda.. the cast carried it off beautifully.. those were the days!!!!
You sound like a great person. We need to clone you about 1 million times. I love good writing. It's as good as good food. Thank you again. Please stay safe.
Bonanza was incredible, I was born in 1973, the year it ended. I watch it regularly whenever I feel low, lorne greene was the quintessential father figure.
My late paternal Grandmother Getrude Esther Shuster OBM knew the late Lorne Greene aka Haim actually KNEW him back in Ottowa, Canada. They were in the Yiddish Club together back in the day. I wish I could have had the opportunity to meet this amazing 'old school' actor. From what my late grandmother told me..he (Mr. Haim aka Lorne) was a wonderful human being. As they say...She was 'Salt of the Earth'
Thank you for posting this. Not everyone had a dad hooked on being home at I think 8 pm every Sunday night on CBC to watch Bonanza. For those of us whose dad did have that commitment. We watched Lorne and he helped shape my morals. I think he did a pretty great job. A kind and generous person, a Canadian
Lorne Greene, a great actor and also A GREAT HUMAN BEING. He was the strength of The Ponderosa. The power of BONANZA. In these troubled times we are needed of men like him and Michael Landon. Forever in our hearts. FOREVER PA BEN!!!!
Lorne Greene was a gentleman and a fine human being. Hollywood needs more people like this. I'm also proud of the fact he was a fellow Canadian. RIP, Mr Greene.
I wasn t born when bonanza was on tv. But Sir LORNE GREEN was and is the best father and mother four his bonanza sons.the best father in the world❤❤❤❤❤
Can you imagine what Mr. Greene would think of the media and news today ! He would be shocked and heartbroken .He was true gentleman and wonderful person .
Bonanza taught me about morality, integrity, and true family values. The show impacted on me as a youth. I have all the copies. David Dortort the producer had a vision which he made a realization.RIP. TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO...the Paradise of the world.
Watching Lorne Greene's interview for the first time. Came to check here after watching his amazing role in one of the Hardy Boys' episodes. I found his personality very intriguing and after seeing this I am convinced. He also comes across as a thought provoking and generous individual.
Tenho 57 anos e sempre assisto Bonanza. Lembro -me de minha infância. Minha mãe assistia comigo e o meu irmão. Eu era apaixonada pelos atores. Naquela época eu queria que o Lorne Green fosse meu pai. Sonhos de criança. ❤❤
Masterly acted as Ben cartwright, his voice was also much as a match to the need to act as a matured and seasoned rich gentleman who also is a father grooming three sons
This explains a lot. I'm not a young man, but I'm "younger" so I decided to binge watch Bonanza during the lockdown. One thing I definitely noticed and would point out to my dad (who grew up watching Bonanza) was the high level of violence during the first season, getting away with things you couldn't do outside of a TV-MA rating today. I also noticed that tpne change dramatically through the second season and evolve into the show that Bonanza is known to be. But that first season was something else!
Admiravel. Justo. Carismatico. So amor love!! Maravilhoso ator. Todos do elenco. Inesqueciveis. Era crianca e nunca me esqueci. E com saudade e prazer ver a serie da epoca. Foram poucos capitulos que assisti e nunca esqueci. Tv preto e branco em 78 . Ate hoje me emociono com ben joe adam e ros
Fun fact Inga Swenson who played "Inger Cartwright" in the bonanza episode "Inger my love" (1962) got reunited with Lorne Greene, in "griff" (1973) after 11 years imagine how fun it was they had a good chemistry many good actor's and actresse's from sweden.
NA MINHA CIDADE, HAVIA NA ÉPOCA POUCOS APARELHOS DE TV. EU IA ASSISTIR BONANZA NA CASA DE AMIGOS. LÁ TODOS OS GAROTOS SENTAVAM NO CHÃO DA SALA PARA VER. UM SERIADO INESQUECÍVEL...! O QUE APRENDIAMOS COM BONANZA ERA: RESPEITO....HONRADEZ...AMOR A FAMÍLIA....SERIEDADE.....(ENFIM) BONANZA ESTÁ VIVO AINDA NOS NOSSOS CORAÇÕES.
Now I know Lorne Greene and Ben Cartwright were spiritually the same guy...I mean, after he told producer David Dortort to change some stuff, Greene played himself on screen.
Man of integrity and good principles. It's a good thing however he hasn't lived long enough to see how things are now. Hoooo boyyy. Everything he talks about is the opposite of what flies today in the US.
The Hollywood men of that era, Lorne Greenes, James Garners, Ernie Borgnine, etc. and we could name many others were so different than male actors today. Few actors and actresses of that caliber now so that is why TV and movies the way they are.
LORNE GREENE: YOU AND YOUR CHARACTER WAS A FATHER FIGURE TO THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA'S SONS !!! AND I'M STILL WATCHING AND LEARNING AT 55... RIP .. . PAW... WHAT A GOD GIVEN LEGACY TO LEAVE THE SONS OF MEN !! YOU AND YOUR WRITERS ARE A LEGACY.
Ben Cartwright from Bonanza. Lorne Greene will be missed. Michael Landon will be too. I have seen all three of Michael Landon's TV programs from Bonanza to Little House On The Prairie to his last TV program Highway To Heaven. Lorne Greene will always be Ben Cartwright from Bonanza to me.
Blood on the land was the episode where you seen the change in the Cartwright temperament towards trespassers on the ponderosa with Adams encouragement
How many Americans these days invoke Jesus and God - including the US President and all of his creepy kids and minions- and there is nothing inside them but lust for power and money. They are depraved and rotten. Greene is walking the walk....he speaks with reverence for all creatures.
@@julieb7785, en el capítulo donde matan injustamente a un nativo americano Lorne Greene en el momento de la agonía del indio recita con mucho sentimiento gran parte del Salmo 23 de la Biblia.
The integrity that men like Lorne Greene had is sorely lacking in television today. He was pure class and I could listen to him talk all day.
This is what a man is and should be,
Same as on the show. Well cast.
I wonder if he ever imagined years after he passed people would still be watching and thinking about him
He was 100% correct Hollywood have a responsibility but they lost it too long ago.
Hollywood is now a stinkin', morally bankrupt America hating sewer.

I don't think there will ever be another actor like Lorne Greene.
What a gentleman, in every sense of the word. RIP. Lorne Green you are sorely missed!
Fine gentleman and great actor. That era of TV is sadly long gone.

What a class and generous man . Real gentleman with enough masculinity and voice
Lorne Greene was, and still is, an inspiration to us all, a Light to guide us through the darkness of life. God bless him!

A nice way of putting it.
Good ol’ Lorne Green, May he Rest In Peace. Ben Cartwright was a badass before the term even existed.

In a weird way, I'm happy for him that he did not live to see today's television.

Jewish.

and now we have the kardashians, and those fake reality shows...So, sad what happened to tv
I like Lorne, but I actually liked the edgier early episodes better. I didn't like it when it morphed toward sappiness.
If I'd had lorne greene for a father, I might not have killed those three people.
The first Bonanzas were stupid.
No mention of God , a pity .
He's a good man, what does it matter if he mentions a deity?
