    I would say it’s also okay to be a bit hungry. Most people when feeling hungry, are not literally starving. You don’t have to feel full all day. Also, sometimes that hunger feeling might actually be thirst. Or it might fade after several minutes.

    • @rachelmaddowswife8713
      @rachelmaddowswife8713 12 днів тому

      Yeah, I always forget that it's normal to feel hungry before a meal. Then again, if you're feeling hungry all the time, you probably need to up your protein and fiber content. Your diet won't be sustainable in the longterm if you're always feeling hungry.

    I’m trying to break my addiction to coffee creamers. After the last two bottles, I’m switching to heavy cream and half and half with monk fruit, vanilla extract, and whatever spice I want to add. I find myself craving that more than the sugary creamers.

    So if we’re suppose to eat 1 gram of protein per pound of desired body weight-say 150 lbs, that’s 150 grams of protein divided by 3 meals( you say snacks aren’t necessary if we’re eating enough protein at our meals).
    50 grams of protein for breakfast, lunch and dinner is a lot. And what your body doesn’t use, the excess could be stored as fat. Kidney function is effected by a too high of a Protein diet as Ive had that issue more than once. No one ever discusses the effects of too much but it is something aware of.

    • @Droosmom1970

    • @podpatriot4442
      @podpatriot4442 20 днів тому

      It’s only hard on the kidneys if you have other kidney problems. Lots of information online about that misnomer. Also, one gram per pound isn’t really “high”. Normal, healthy, people can easily handle one gram of protein per pound, and the health benefits are well documented, especially as we get older.

    • @Fitstitcher

    I am 75. I normally will eat mostly healthy food. Yes there are Temptations everywhere and I’m a little overweight trying to get it off as I get older. I’m finding it much harder. Here’s the thing I get home from church and I did have a green shake this morning And I am hungry so I had a slice of gluten-free flour, free, meatloaf and some green beans that was not enough. I had another piece so now I feel like I’ve overeaten along with 2 cups of coffee so was I hungry or should I waited? I should’ve probably waited till the food settled before I went for that second piece of meatloaf, beef, and organic lamb mixed with. Thank you so much for your videos even on old person can be wiser by listening to you.

I don’t have any intolerance or allergy to wheat or gluten at all, so it isn’t causing that kind of inflammation, but is it considered processed if I use it to make my own baked goods? The good side to it getting hot outside is if I start wanting a coffee (I love the sugary mochas), I go for a walk in the heat. By the time I come back, I’m too hot to be in the mood for a hot coffee (and I don’t like cold coffees). It’s been very helpful so far at kicking the craving AND getting me moving throughout the day. She mentioned eating enough protein to slow down the metabolism so that you don't feel hungry......but I always thought having a slow metabolism was not desirable. Everyone wants to speed up their metabolism. What am I missing? Can someone explain it to me please?

    • @AutumnBates
      @AutumnBates  3 дні тому

      No, not eating ENOUGH protein can slow down the metabolism by resulting in muscle loss. So protein is really important when looking to maintain muscle mass and a healthy metabolism.

    ??So when you say u.p. food, does that mean protein powder/drink too?

    • @AutumnBates
      @AutumnBates  Місяць тому

      UP carbs and fats specifically are found to have addictive qualities. Although a lot of protein powders or ready to drink options have added sugars that can make it problematic. That’s why I use 100% monk fruit extract instead for a natural zero sugar option.

    There’s tons of contradictions going around about weight loss and nutrition. It’s quite frustrating for us regular people. Could you do a video talking about what happens if a person is in to much of a calorie deficit for too long and how to work through those plateaus. Specifically my wife would have a higher protein/fat breakfast and not be hungry the rest of the day only having 400-500 calories. Her body started storing fat more rapidly. Also, weight loss may be the wrong focus since fat weighs less than muscle, what nutrition better supports fat loss?

    Isn't proteine powder also a ultra processed food?

    • @baegels5272
      @baegels5272 Місяць тому +2

      Absolutely! I follow a German nutritionist (Ken kocht) who also points out that protein yes helps to feel full short term, but not long term. After about two hours, one wants to eat again. Instead to overeat on protein, he'd suggest to eat enough fiber in a variety of vegetables in order to feel full for longer.

    • @marindawestra-mulder8608
      @marindawestra-mulder8608 Місяць тому +1

      @@baegels5272 I read something simalar. To keep you're glucose stable, start your meal with fiber from veggies, then your protein and then your carbs. It did say that protein does help to preserve muscle mass

      @marindawestra-mulder8608 I saw this advice too. I think it was Glucose Goddess that advocates eating veggies first, then proteins and good fats, then carbs. Eating foods in a certain order helps prevent glucose spikes that leave you hungry and craving sugar.

      Ultra processed foods come out of a box or wrapper. Regardless that it has “healthy” ingredients, it is manufactured in a factory making it ultra processed.

    My eldest daughter turned 13 yesterday.😮 I splurged and had a sliver of birthday cake with her. Of course, she loves the white cake with buttercream frosting. I made sure I had enough protein beforehand, though. I got a headache from the exreeme amount of sugar in the cake, but I was okay with the glucose spike, not overriding my brain and stomach for the next four hours. 😅 On this special occasion, I didn't feel too guilty about it. 😉🥴
