    Hold on there..... potatoes are indeed low in protein, BUT if not deep fried to oblivion, they are one of the best food to eat for weight loss, because they are very satiating, and actually LOW in calories.
    And what causes you to gain weight is NOT THESE FOODS, it's CALORIE SURPLUS

    No one protein will make you 'gain weight' UNLESS you're consuming surplus calories - the issue isn't the protein, but the amount of calories consumed. Demonising certain foods in a clickbait title like that is just bad form.

    RE: Rotisserie chicken from big-box, wholesale clubs. I have heard some say these are horrible due to being injected with various solutions/seasonings and should never be eaten. However, most store-bought chicken (raw or precooked) other than rotisserie are also injected with ‘solutions’ of various things. I understand rotisserie chickens may have a lot of salt, but based on the low cost, high protein, convenience allowing macro goals to be easier. So is this a suitable option to meet a convenient protein option or should these be avoided?

    I eat potatoes for high satiety but I eat them with eggs which is put a lot of egg whites. This for me is a middle of the week cheat meal which keeps my sanity and doesn’t make me over indulge on my cheat meal. Also when I do eat potatoes it’s a post workout meal and I don’t really eat anything but a Kirkland protein bar, some chicken, and Greek yogurt. For years, I battled with unwanted weight gain. I just couldn't seem to lose those extra calories no matter how much I exercised.
    But I finally realized that it was my diet which is the main culprit because I was not consuming enough protein and fiber while constantly eating snacks that contained sugar and lots of palm oil which left me craving that for more.
    Then, I discovered a game-changer, Alpino Rolled Oats and it's peanut butter.
    This combo is a dream, it's packed with high protein to keep me feeling full and help me build muscle, plus tons of fiber to maintain my weight. But the best part is this is unbelievably delicious! No boring protein shakes or bland oatmeal for me. Alpino Oats and peanut butter satisfy my cravings without any added sugar. It's the perfect solution for anyone looking to lose weight without sacrificing taste.

    Do we count net carbs or total ?

    • @19guyswithcutboxers23
      @19guyswithcutboxers23 5 місяців тому

      Net carbs are only a thing if all of the fiber content is insoluble fiber. Insoluble fiber has virtually zero calories, so unless you are dieting for a physique competition you can safely count grams of insoluble fiber as 0 calorie. Soluble fiber does contain calories, it can vary but on average about 2 calories per gram. The problem with nutrition labels is that they often don't separate out how many grams of fiber is insoluble vs. soluble fiber. They will brand their products with a "net carb" number that subtracts the fiber and/or sugar alcohols (which also contribute about 2 calories per gram) as though they contribute zero calories to the food item. This is not likely to be true for the above reasons. If you are in a position to know how much of the fiber in a food is soluble fiber or insoluble fiber then you can make a decent estimate. Otherwise I would play it safe and count all fiber on the label as 2 calories per gram in cases where it is not specified (almost always the case).
