Wow, Sandi You explain your process so well and clearly and I search for your videos all the time. I feel I always learn new techniques and I thank you for sharing your passion and love of card making.
Well done, Sandi! Lovely cards and I learned a few things just watching, i.e cool dots create a fairy scene, Gesso for the moon craters, and cool mountains too! TFS and keep up the good work! (I’m another MacIver in Ontario - it’s my maiden name.)
Your video popped up on my homepage on UA-cam. So I decided to watch it and was impressed. I have had a tremendous amount of problems stamping the Lavinia stamps with most inks, so I switched to Versafine Claire ink which totally stamps the image cleanly without a lot of repeats. I noticed that Livinia, themselves now use that ink. I thought your card was very very nice! Good video.
Thanks Bonnie, I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I have not been having problems with stamping them, but this time, it was on watercolor paper, so I stamped it a few more times just to ensure I had a nice dark image, as the watercolor paper is a but lumpy. That said, I have noticed that Livinia uses the Versafine Clair and I confess to just placing a rather large order through Simon Says Stamp, haha.....a girl can never have too many ink pads!.
Sandi, I've been watching you for a few years now (when you were a SU demo) and I have to say your work is just simply amazing. Love your channel. Keep rocking it!
I love this!! I have quite a few of traceys stamps....have you seen her brayer method on her cards? I am still trying to master that technique but love the results she gets? Have you tried it? Thank you and as always learn so much watching you!! Take good care!!!
OMGosh Sandi, this card is above and beyond amazing! I absolutely love it to pieces. I hope you don't mind if I try to case it as it surely won't come out anything like yours. Awesome job girl!!!!
I love love love Lavinia stamps! I don't have this one, but I do have some others. I seem to have a hard time getting the solid images as black as I want them to be. On your card where you put the Gesso on the moon first, it looks as the face, the crow and the top of the cane are really rich deep black. That's the look I DO want. I wonder if stamping the image in some kind of white pigment ink and then after dried -adding the black would yield a more rich solid black look. Hmmm interesting. Thanks for doing the hard work first!
Mary. I have the same problem and I don't have a Misti. My solution is to use Versafine black ink to stamp the image, then use some clear embossing powder, which makes the image stand out more. The other tip is to leave the stamp on a bit longer on the paper to absorb the ink more as I'm too much in a rush to remove the stamp !
Hi Sandi...love your card...so beautiful! Ive done silhouette stamping with both Versafine and Memento inks over Disress Oxide backgrounds have had problems with the silhouette looking smooth and uniformed. Its not that the image is blotchy but you can slightly see the underneath images, no matter how many times I stamp over the silhouette image. I dont want to glaze my backgrounds before I start stamping (a step I'm trying to avoid). Have you experienced this too? If so how did you rectify it? Thanks!
H Lisa, have not had that problem at all, 3 layers of the VersaFine Onyx Black has worked perfectly for me on all the cards I have made so far. I had a few more goes at this one because it was watercolor paper, so it started out lumpy. I do reink my pad right before I do it though to ensure it's nice and juicy.

actually Mary, I had to darken those with a black marker as they didn't stamp well at all, so not the solution to your problem I'm afraid, haha

@@rosethorne7973 I understand about the hurry part! ;) ha Thanks
Lovely work thank you!
Thank you too!
AMAZING ONE🍻
Wonderful card, taught wonderfully. For your next video, gesso is pronounced with a soft 'g', as in jello. ;)

Thank you Sandi. I will reink my pad before stamping. Thank you for taking the time to respond.
