A stunning card Lisa... beautiful colours and the way you made use of the gaps in the paint at the top to make sunbeams was perfect... that was immediately what I saw and would have done... I am intrigued by the use of pastels to enhance the background colours as well... lovely... thank you... :)

They are Robin! They blend best using the tools rather than fingers. The other pastels I use prefer fingers! There’s room for both I suppose. They have lovely pigment. Xx

@ Hi Lisa, I would love to try and attempt making my Christmas cards with multi mediums (which will be absolutely nothing even close to resembling your beautiful work) but I was wondering if I use some pastels which I have now ordered as part of my £100 spend up! Let’s not mention anything to the husband, can you advise me on how to set the card so that it doesn’t get smudged? Many thanks in advance x
@fionafearnley7795 hi I use my pastels on top of ink or watercolours as a second layer so I don’t pre set the card. If you are just using pastels you should get pastel paper which has a special surface. At the end of my picture and sometimes before stamping on top of pastels I use spray fixative . Any brand would work or hair spray . So no priming necessary. Hope that helps. 😊

I just need to get the yellow oxide, and some of the pan pastels, especially the permanent red colour. I cannot wait. Your designs are so vibrant and full of power. I love them.

So beautiful. I guess using pan pastels you would have to spray the card with a fixative. I have used pastels in art work and have had to finish with a fixative otherwise it can rub off.
Yes that’s right. A light spray does the trick. The pan pastels are good because they have binder mixed in which helps them adhere to the card but a finishing fixative does no harm. Xx
Hi because they are more forgiving and can be erased using a putty eraser if you make a mistake. It’s all about layers. Sometimes ink can be too heavy and not opaque enough. It can change colour when placed on top because inks blend together. Although distress oxide inks can give a similar effect to the pastels because of their opacity but you must dry between layers or they will oxidise .

@@inkyblisscreations You're very welcome Lisa. Oh WOW, that's a huge compliment coming from you Lisa. Yes, mojo and confidence is something I am currently lacking. I've got a lot going on in my life at the moment, with having to find and put my Mum into a care home due to her dementia, which was extremely upsetting as she had lived with us for 7 years but I could'nt cope any more. Then it was packing up all her things and sorting out etc. I've now made her bedroom my craft room having used our dining room for all those years. So mojo and confidence is what I need now and you are starting me back on the right track, so many, many thanks for that! I do need to get myself some pan pastels, but finances are tight right now and not too sure where I can get them at a cheaper rate? Everyone seems to be using them, so need to do some sourcing! Once again, many thanks! xxx ❤️❤️❤️
Oh Pauline I know how worrying and stressful all of that is. My partners Mum is going through that too and on top of that fell and broke her hip at the weekend. I wish you well and really hope you get time to yourself to create . We all need to escape to a happy place! Take care. Xx

@@inkyblisscreations totally agree, I love the escapeism. I am slowly collecting some of the products you use, just got some sparkly signio gel pens and some oxide sprays to go with some dylusions. I get very nervous but practicing some of your techniques will hopefully build up my confidence. Thank you so much for your tutorials, they really help me to relax and switch off too . So beautiful. I guess using pan pastels you would have to spray the card with a fixative. I have used pastels in art work and have had to finish with a fixative otherwise it can rub off.
Yes that’s right. A light spray does the trick. The pan pastels are good because they have binder mixed in which helps them adhere to the card but a finishing fixative does no harm. Xx
Which fixative you would recommend to use ?
Any good quality fixative . I’ve used different brands over the years, they are all similar. I’m no expert on sprays I’m afraid.

I was wondering why you chose use pan pastels rather than distress inks? X
Hi because they are more forgiving and can be erased using a putty eraser if you make a mistake. It’s all about layers. Sometimes ink can be too heavy and not opaque enough. It can change colour when placed on top because inks blend together. Although distress oxide inks can give a similar effect to the pastels because of their opacity but you must dry between layers or they will oxidise .

@@inkyblisscreations You're very welcome Lisa. Oh WOW, that's a huge compliment coming from you Lisa. Yes, mojo and confidence is something I am currently lacking. I've got a lot going on in my life at the moment, with having to find and put my Mum into a care home due to her dementia, which was extremely upsetting as she had lived with us for 7 years but I could'nt cope any more. Then it was packing up all her things and sorting out etc. I've now made her bedroom my craft room having used our dining room for all those years. So mojo and confidence is what I need now and you are starting me back on the right track, so many, many thanks for that! I do need to get myself some pan pastels, but finances are tight right now and not too sure where I can get them at a cheaper rate? Everyone seems to be using them, so need to do some sourcing! Once again, many thanks! xxx ❤️❤️❤️
Oh Pauline I know how worrying and stressful all of that is. My partners Mum is going through that too and on top of that fell and broke her hip at the weekend. I wish you well and really hope you get time to yourself to create . We all need to escape to a happy place! Take care. Xx

@@inkyblisscreations totally agree, I love the escapeism. I am slowly collecting some of the products you use, just got some sparkly signio gel pens and some oxide sprays to go with some dylusions. I get very nervous but practicing some of your techniques will hopefully build up my confidence. Thank you so much for your tutorials, they really help me to relax and switch off too .
